Story
Mila was surrendered by her person due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet older girl with lots of personality she is not a big barker but when enticed to play her hound sound comes out. She can be a bit of an anxious girl in too stimulating of a situation so a quieter household would fit her best. She likes to cuddle and attention but also does fine when alone. If you think she would be a good fit lets talk! She really is a sweet girl.

Story
Hercules is a sweet enthusiastic boy born in April 2021. He was brought in as a stray and was never claimed. We can't figure out why - he is a real charmer. He needs some work slowing down when he is on a leash - he is so eager to go everywhere. Hercules would do best in a home where he is the only animal. He would make a great companion for someone looking for a dog with energy and personality plus. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Darling is a smaller cattle dog/Shepherd mix born in January 2021. She came in as a stray with another dog. Darling gets along ok with dogs smaller than her, but not so well with bigger dogs. Darling is very smart and aware of everything going on around her. She loves people and loves attention. Darling was adopted earlier this year, but her new mom had to move to assisted living and Darling couldn't go along. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. Darling is eager to find a new family and start a new life - would you like to be her new best friend? She hopes she can find a new Home for the Holidays! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022. He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. Domino has some dog friends here, but isn't fond of others, so an introduction to your dog would be a good idea to see if they click. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Akira is a breeder release Siberian Husky born December 2017. Akira was extremely timid when she first arrived, but now she is going on walks with our dog walkers. She is still nervous in new situations and startled by unexpected noises, but she is making great progress everyday. She has even started singing recently which we were all very excited to hear. Akira needs an owner that loves and understands huskies and perhaps has another dog to help with the transition to a loving calm home. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped.
