Story
Finn was adopted by us after being rescued from a puppy mill where he was abused. Worse yet, not long after we adopted him he sprinted out the front door, ran off, and was later hit by a car. He lived but sadly he had one of his back legs amputated. Despite all this, Finn is a real sweet dog. He gets along with everyone and LOVES meeting new people and dogs. He likes going outside in a fenced area or on a walk and he's just a very sweet and loving boy. However, he is a Shiba Inu and so sometimes he doesn't want to be around you and that's okay. This breed can be very cat like and they pick and choose when to get your attention. Especially with his traumatic past, he likes to sometimes have his alone quiet time.We are moving out of state and cannot take Finn with us. Finn is in need of a home with people who are loving, patient, & kind. If you have experience with dogs that have been through these situations, even better.(We are like 80% certain he is microchipped but will verify)

Story
Luna was one of eight puppies rescued from Texas because the owner had to move and could not deal with a litter. The puppies were rescued by my niece in Florida who drove to Texas to get the puppies when they were 2 weeks old. She hand-fed all of them until they were old enough to be adopted. I owned a GSD in the past and trained him so I really wanted another one. I am 76 years old and I really am having a difficult time training and exercising Luna due to a back problem. She is a great dog and very affectionate. She needs attention, exercise and a job. I really would like for her to go to a family with experience with GSD's.

Story
I got him when he was 6 weeks old and he’s turning 3 soon. He’s very sweet when you get to know him and he’s a good guard dog. He’s very hyper though, I don’t have enough yard for him now and my daughter turned 1 recently and has begun walking. He’s too big and not careful with my child because he gets too excited and I don’t want him to accidentally hurt her trying to play. He is great with cats. He’s even gentle with kittens. He is iffy with other dogs but if you get him acquainted with them properly then he makes pretty good friends. I feel like the best home for him would be somewhere with a decent sized yard and older kids if you have any. He loves to play and run. He loves water and snow. He’s a great dog I’m just a single mother and it’s too much for me anymore.

Story
Zoey was abandoned and left on our road 4 years ago. We adopted her and she has been an excellent dog. She is great around children. We recently moved to a different town and have closer neighbors. They have free range chickens and she is attacking them and is also aggressive towards their dog. This is both out of character for her but she has never had close neighbors. We are unable to care for her at our new place and too are getting older and need to rehome her to a loving family.

Story
Andie is the best girl and wants to love everyone. Like her sister, she is a little shy at first but deep down just wants to be loved on. She is good with other dogs, we are unsure how she is with cats. She is working on leash training and gaining confidence every time. Come meet this sweet girl today! Please visit: https://callowaycountyky.gov/animal-control/ to fill out an application. Then email your application to animalshelter@callowaycountyky.gov, Adoption Fee: $60.00 Cash or Check (this includes the microchip! It also covers vaccines, fecal, and any medical attention the animal required while in our care.) An $80.00 good-faith deposit will be collected at the time of adoption. (If paying this fee by check, the check will be cashed.) This added spay/neuter step will assist in stopping the tide of animals that end up in shelters. Once the spay/neuter has been completed, take or mail proof of surgery to 81 Shelter Lane Murray, Ky 42071. Your $80.00 deposit will be reimbursed, on the next fiscal court month. We currently cannot break bills or provide change. If paying cash, please bring the $60 and $80 as separate payments. Thank you!
