Story
Sammie is a tough girl who was not only discarded, but she ended up with stage 4 heartworm disease. The shelter she went to was going to euthanize her, but our rescue took her in and immediately sent her to the vet. Fluid was drained from her swollen abdomen several times during the 30 days that she was on antibiotics prior to the first heartworm treatment. She made it through that and the rest period, then she had her second heartworm treatment. She will be having more fluid drained again soon. Hopefully we will find out then that the treatment worked and if there was any permanent damage. We will update this bio more then.  Sammie is up to date on vaccinations, flea treated, wormed, lymes negative, and microchipped. She will be spayed after she has had time to get well from the heartworm treatment. She is housebroken, but because of her medications she has to urinate very frequently. She loves toys, being nosey, cuddling, and people. She tends to be an alpha and sometimes bullies other dogs. This could cause a fight depending on the other dogs attitude/demeanor (use your judgment and knowledge of your dog). Sammie only gets along with male dogs. She does not get along with female dogs or cats. No small children. Sammie is a spitfire and still has a lot of spunk left in her. Life has not treated her well, but now that she’s getting healthy, she’s ready to find a family and kick life’s butt. Let’s help her do that. If you think you can do that please complete an application.

Story
Kai is a big boy, but also a big sweetie. He was surrendered to us because his owners were in poor health and not able to care for him. He had no vetting prior to coming to us, but is now neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm/lymes negative, flea treated, wormed, and microchipped. He is currently at a board and train facility learning manners and basic obedience. He seems to do well with most dogs in passing but is extremely dominant. He should be the only dog in the home. We do not yet know about cats. He would do best in a home with no children. Kai is a very large boy with a lot of energy. Continuing training will be a requirement of his adoption. Prior breed experience is also required.  **Applications will not be screened if they do not meet adoption requirements. **

Story
Luke is the sweetest little guy you’ll ever meet. He came to us from a terrible home. He was underweight, dehydrated, and had serious skin issues when he arrived. He’s now been vetted and is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm/lymes negative, flea treated, wormed, and microchipped. Luke is a wonderful, loving dog. He’s curious and loves to play. He seems to get along with other dogs but does need slow introductions. We don’t recommend a home with cats or small children. Luke will benefit from training. That is requirement of his adoption. Luke is an amazing dog and he will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family.  **Applications will not be processed if they do not meet adoption requirements.**

Story
Achilles was surrendered to the rescue along with Athena. He is a sweet boy but is high energy. He came from a home with 2 other dogs. He was extremely dominant with them though. He is about 1-2 years old. He doesn’t mind most dogs in passing. He absolutely loves to play. He tends to be very dominant though so he would do best as the only dog in the home.  He does not care for cats. He would be best suited for a home with no children. Achilles is neutered and fully vetted. He is currently in training. He is a wonderful dog that will make a great companion for a family that is willing to give him a chance. Training/socialization class and previous breed experience is a requirement for his adoption. **Applications will not be screened if they do not meet the listed requirements. **

Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Myra just said good-bye to her last litter of puppies. She won't have to worry about having puppies any more. Now she can enjoy just being a dog. Her ears are listening for signs that someone is interested in her. Myra is a 6 year old German Shepherd Dog who is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, lymes positive (this will need to be monitored for flare ups), flea treated, wormed, spayed, and microchipped. Myra is getting a little older and has some aches and pains, so we have her on several supplements that she would need to remain on after adoption. She is also on medication twice a day for pain/anxiety.  She tends to be a bit nervous when around strange people or in a new situation. Once she's comfortable though, she's very friendly.  She prefers to keep to herself or be with her person. She tolerates calm dogs in passing but would do best as an only dog. She does not appear to like cats. NO children because of her nervousness and activity level. Myra loves toys and loves to play alone or with her person. She does resource guard toys and high value items with people and animals. She is protective of her home and person and needs an adopter with previous breed experience. **Applications will not be screened if they do not meet the listed requirements.**

Story
Rhea is an adorable 2-3 year old staffie mix. She is special needs as she is completely blind from a disease that caused retinal degeneration. She was recently diagnosed with glaucoma, high blood pressure, and thyroid disease, which she is currently taking medication for. This is controlled but she will need to remain on the medications for life. Rhea doesn’t let her disability slow her down. She still loves to run and play. She does get along with other dogs but they need to have good manners. Rhea needs a home with no small children, a secure, physical fenced in yard, and another calm but playful dog. Rhea has been completely vetted and is currently ready for adoption. **Applications will not be screened if they do not meet the listed requirements.**
