This little cutie has been adopted,,, but check back for newcomers soon.   This little cutie is estimated to be 10-12 years old,, but she's got the spunk of someone much younger..... She's bright eyed and bushy tailed, as they say,,, and always rarin' to go and keep up with any activity going on in her vicinity. She gets along fine with the other small dogs except when access to a food bowl might become contentious.  She was brought into rescue and immediately updated on her vaccinations and heartworm testing as well as being spayed and having a dental done... So now she's ready to go somewhere where she's get lots of love and attention..... She's only about 9#,,,,, so perfect for someone wanting a pint sized lap companion.April 25, 2024, 12:04 am

TOBY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!   This little fella is a real love bug!  I'm hoping one of the kind of adopters who call and ask for a sweet little lap dog will decide he's the right one.  He wants to be with his human all the time,,, so needs someone who is around home most of the time. He's thru his vetting,,,, he got a dental done this week and  is ready to go.  I figured a little preview might be a good idea so you got to see his "before pics".... now I have a couple newer ones to share We think Toby is about 10 years old and he weighs about 14 pounds.  So far, he's been happy to interact with every human he's met.  He's been fine with all the other dogs, but doesn't seem to have much interest in them, one way or the other,,,, he wants a person.  We haven't had any opportunity to see how he is with cats.April 25, 2024, 12:04 am

OLIVER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!   Oliver is a real sweet little fella.... He's just be neutered and updated on all his vaccinations and  tests,,,, and he's ready for a forever family to love and be loved by.. We've been told that he loves kids,,, and have seen for ourselves that he gets along fine with other small dogs.... He's not been exposed to larger dogs or cats while in rescue. He is very good about his housebreaking and given the chance, loves to follow his human step for step and stay close to the action. Rin wandered into our yard six years ago. She was about 6 months old. We have cared for her for 6 years and she is up to date with shots, etc. and is in excellent condition. She is an extremely happy and playful dog. She loves to play fetch and to go for walks. She has been trained and heels well. She loves company. She gets along well with most other dogs. Many neighborhood dogs stop in our yard and play with her. She used to like cats until one scratched her nose and now she dislikes cats. We have an invisible fence that she has learned to stay inside of and she sleeps in the garage. We have left her for three weeks at a time when we are out of town; the next door neighbor feeds her and checks on her; other neighbors stop by and throw the ball for her; the invisible fence contains her; but we are traveling more now and do not want to leave her home alone for extended periods. For a new home, we would like someone who will be home nights with her.

Aug. 2023 I rescued Major from a couple in a neighboring town that had him on a rope by their house at the highway. All I could get is he was 7-8 mos. old. Man was violent, woman asked to find him a home. He was a mess. Cleaned, dewormed, deflea'd. Double dewclaws. One removed when neutered. I gave all shots except rabies. He's an adorable little guy who found refuge in my Dane mix. It took a couple mos. before he would even jump in bed with us. The first time he gave a kiss was fenominal! Very smart. Potty training was quick. At dinner he sits, gives paw,lays & stays until I fill water. But he had a problem with my ducks. Injuries led to 3 dead & he outright killed one. He was separated for a long time. Then he was fine for the last few months. We have another Lab rescue now since Dec. and Major & her are inseparable. But Major attacked another duck yesterday. I think he gets way too excited, he gets lots of love & attention but he now has the taste for duck kill & it kills me.
