We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! Story
Due to the death of an owner, Muffy & Buddy need a new home. They are a bonded pair who like napping together and grooming each other. They are very sweet and loveable. Buddy is a neutered male short-haired gray tabby, about 6-7 years old, very calm and quiet. Muffy is a spayed, 5-6 year old, long-haired gray and white female. Both have lived with other cats and dogs without any issues. They have experienced the loss of their owner and their home, so staying together means a lot to them. They are new to our rescue, so we will update with better pictures soon.

Story
What's up? My name is Plop and I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I am a gorgeous and floofy, longhaired orange tabby girl who was born on June 6, 2023. I am full of entertainment and energy. Do you have a resident cat who needs a buddy to play with or to snuggle? I'm your gal. I'm a pretty independent kitty and won't be like one of those super annoying cats who needs to be on or near you all the time. I'm perfectly content doing my own thing and entertaining myself. Now that doesn't mean I'm not friendly - I still love butt scritches and under-chin scratches. I would like to snuggle you on the couch once everyone is settled down. I just like to get attention on my own terms. I really love other cats - in fact my best friend in the whole world is my tortie sister Plunk. She has the same personality as me, so we make a pretty good pair. We both love other cats and enjoy feline companionship. We both get along well with the big dog in our foster home, and we're completely litter box trained. I'll be a purr-fect companion. Just apply to adopt today! Adoption fee: $125. Adopt a pair: $200. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance. Adoption and Foster Care ApplicationComplete this form and a volunteer will contact you to answer questions and to schedule a meet-n-greet. UPCOMING EVENTS: Saturday, September 9, 2023: Rochester Hills adoption event on the second Saturday of every month from noon to 3 p.m. at Petco, 2675 S Rochester Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307. Not all animals will be at every event. Saturday, September 16, 2023: Join us for kitten yoga from 1-2 p.m. at White Lotus Yoga, 65959 Van Dyke Ave, Washington, MI 48095. Call 586-752-2700 to reserve your spot. Friday, September 22, 2023: We will be at the Witches Night Bazaar and a portion of all ticket sales will benefit the homeless pets in our care. Buy your tickets in advance and support PFL Rescue. Event location is Tangent Gallery and Hastings Street Ballroom, 715 E Milwaukee Ave, Detroit, MI 48202. Saturday, September 23, 2023: Bloomfield Hills adoption event on the fourth Saturday of every month from noon to 3 p.m. at Hollywood Feed by PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301. Not all animals will be at every event. Now through October 15, 2023: Join our virtual flower and plant sale for fall gardeners and help raise money for the homeless pets in our care. We get 50% of all sales! There is a huge selection for every type of gardener. Shop now for the best selection! Orders are shipped directly to you in mid September. Shop our Amazon Wish List to gift us supplies we need and have them shipped directly to us.. NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label. Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
