Story
Toby is between the 6-12 months old. He was hanging out with a stray colony of cats for about 4 months. It appears that he did live in a home at some point in his life. Toby is very friendly and adjusting to his foster home well. He does have urges to go out so it’s important that his new family will keep a close eye on him to ensure he doesn’t get loose. I have no doubts that he can live comfortably 100% in a home. Toby is very people friendly. He runs to greet new people who come over. He does well with other cats. He did well in his outdoor colony and wants to play with the resident cats in his foster home (although they currently want nothing to do with him). Toby has been using the litter box consistently. He enjoys all the toys and is currently learning what a scratching post is. He does sometimes jump on furniture but listens very well. Toby is very tolerable. He did well with a bath and during his vet exam. He will be fully vetted and neutered upon adoption.

Story
Spruce~born~November 2018Spruce is a gorgeous cat. She looks like she is a Nebelung, which is sometimes called a Longhaired Russian Blue.Spruce and Hickory are a bonded pair who were rescued from a hoarding situation. Despite that they are very sweet and peoply.Hickory and Spruce probably aren`t related but they definitely consider each other family and we`re going to make sure they get to stay together.Spruce is a super-floofy gray girl who loves to cuddle. Humans make the best furniture, right? And if you give her some head scritches she`ll reward you with her Geiger counter purring. While she comes across as very chill Sprucie takes an over-the-counter calming aid to prevent litter box issues.Note: Hickory and Spruce currently live in a foster home with several other cats. Some of them they get along with and some they don`t. Our preference is for them to be the only pets in their future home but other situations might work out too._____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please click on the links below for our:Online Adoption Application: https://paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-form/Details and info on Website: https://paawarren.org/

Story
Meet Winifred, a young feline with a heart full of love. Despite her shy demeanor, she's incredibly sweet and friendly. Her gentle nature is soothing, making her the perfect companion for quiet nights in. Winifred is FIV+, which means she has a weakened immune system. Winifred will need someone to keep up with her yearly vet checkups to make sure any concerns are caught early. Research shows that FIV cats may have a similar life expectancy to uninfected cats. Winifred doesn't let FIV+ slow her down, she is happy and healthy even with FIV+. She's a purr machine, her loud, clear purrs can turn any bad day around. Winifred thrives in the company of other cats, her gentle nature allowing her to get along well with others. Other cats make her feel more confident and secure. Winifred will need a home with another kitty friend. Her sisters Sarah and Mary are available if you have room in your home and heart for two. With her fluffy, soft coat, she's a joy to cuddle with. Winifred's gorgeous spirit shines through in everything she does. She should be adopted because she has so much love to give. She just needs someone to give a shy cat a chance. Her quiet, gentle nature would make her the perfect addition to any family willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. Winifred is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Story
Meet Batty, a kitten with a personality as quirky as her name. Sweet, friendly, and fiercely independent! Batty's energetic and independent nature makes her a fascinating companion. She's a bit peculiar, but in the best way, always following her own agenda. Her curiosity knows no bounds, always on the prowl for a new adventure. Batty likes pets and purrs easily, but she isn't one to stop and ask for them. She will stop if she hears the treat bag shake! Batty's a big fan of treats. Batty is the purr-fect mix of playful and peculiar. This little lady may march to the beat of her own drum, but that's what makes her so special. Adopt Batty and let her bring her unique brand of joy into your life. Batty is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Story
Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common diseases of cats around the world. Here is more info about FIV How do cats get the feline immunodeficiency virus? The most common route of infection is a deep bite wound from an FIV-positive cat to another cat. It can also be transmitted via blood, in utero and from the milk of an infected mother cat. Many FIV-positive cats and FIV-negative cats live together in the same home for years without spreading the virus to the non-infected cats. FIV is NOT able to infect any other animals or humans - it is a cat-only virus. Can FIV be treated? There are no proven treatments to rid a cat of FIV. Most FIV-positive cats handle the disease well, but it is important to concentrate on treating the secondary illnesses. Can cats with the virus have a good and long life? Yes, FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they're well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets. Can FIV-negative and FIV-positive cats live together? Yes, as long as the cats get along and do not fight. The risk of an FIV-positive cat spreading the virus to an FIV-negative cat can be minimized by putting both cats in separate rooms until you are confident that they will not fight with each other.
