Story
Hi, Cupid is my name and I have been told that I live up to my name! I am almost three years old. I am a real love bug! If you are looking for a snuggle buddy, I am your guy. I LOVE to be with my people, snuggle, and play. I haven't met a person I don't like. I have a lot of kitten energy still, but can also sit and watch tv with you if that's what you are doing. My favorite thing is to sit on my foster mom's shoulder or lap and watch her work on the computer. I am really easygoing and warm up in no time to a new environment. I would love to be your one-and-only. My foster mom says I am the sweetest cat she has met! Do you have room in your heart for a lover like me? I do want to let you know that I am a special needs kitty. I have a chronic upper respiratory issue that may never go away. I will most likely require a shot of medicine every so often probably for the rest of my life as I had some pretty big trauma when I was younger that caused it. But if you can handle it, I will make it up to you ten fold! My illness is not something that can be spread to dogs, so if there is a fun/friendly dog in the home, I would love that. I like to play with a cat wand and like a big soft cat bed. He does require a daily medication mixed in some wet food.Cupid has had a complete wellness exam, is microchipped, neutered, tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and is updated on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $225.00 which includes a free wellness exam within 7 days of adoption. Cupid is currently located in a foster home. Payment is either cash or check. Sorry, we do not do any out-of-state adoptions. ADOPTING A PET IS A LIFELONG COMMITMENT!

Story
Harry is 13 and likes attention, especially being scratched under his chin and behind his ears. He likes to sit on someone's lap and snuggles in for a petting and purring session. He does NOT like being petted on the top of his head. Harry enjoys being brushed. He's lived in a house with a three-season porch so he can see the outside world and approaches any and every door in the hopes of going outside. He is independent but likes to be around people. He would prefer to be the only pet but would be ok with a calm dog or another cat. He doesn't play very much but loves rubbing his face on the cat nip toys. Harry is diabetic and requires insulin injections with twice daily meals. He is very good when getting the injections. He is also on a prescription diet for his diabetes.Harry has had a complete wellness exam, is microchipped, neutered, tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and is updated on vaccinations. Story
Adoption Fee: $200, plus taxes Location: Foster Home Reba is a bit of a shy girl and it takes a little time to get to know her, but once you do Reba is a very sweet and affectionate 1 year old with a cute little squeak of a voice. She is usually very eager to welcome you and say hello and circle around your feet for some pets. She will also make some biscuits on your lap and maybe park there for a bit. That is what Reba's personality is really like when she knows you, but you do have to have some time and patience to make her feel safe and secure and make friends with her. Once she lets you in she is very sweet and a devoted companion. She is very treat motivated and this is great way to get to know her. A chicken churu is her favorite. When she is enjoying her treat you can slowly start to pet her and become friends. There is a cute little video in her pictures of her being sweet and enjoying some pets. When she is calm and relaxed Reba loves to play a bit and has fun with a wand toy with a feather on the end. She likes other kitties as well, especially if a new friend is not too domineering with her. Reba is spayed, microchipped and is current with vaccinations. If Reba sounds like your girl and you would like to come share a treat with her, please complete an application on the Carver Scott Humane Society website.

Story
Adoption Fee: $150, plus taxes Location: Foster Home Of course, these one-year-old siblings have completely unique and charming personalities, but they come as a pair, which you'll come to understand after reading about them. Both, however, are incredibly smart and intuitive; they connected quickly to me and my family members: two teenage girls and one 12-year-old boy. Oreo took a little longer with my husband but warmed to him within 36 hours of meal and care visits when I left town for a few days. Both young cats are affectionate, giving nose kisses and forehead nudges; they love tummy rubs! Both are playful; they enjoy self-start interactive toys, playing with each other, and with us. We have fallen for both Sparkles & Oreo and wish we could keep them for ourselves. Whoever adopts these kiddos will have the best of all worlds for pets. We're gradually introducing them to our dogs; one is an older Lab who doesn't care much (perfect) and the other is an 18 month old rescue, whom we've raised since 8 weeks. She is energetic and playful and doesn't yet understand cats can't be chased and don't play the same way dogs do. There are closed doors and baby gates and we're following the helpful advice of Galaxy Jackson.com (youTube)-AKA Cat Daddy. We might not have the time required (hopefully) to introduce our 8-year-old cat; she's far more territorial. Sparkles and Oreo were quite open and curious to get to know our college daughter's (temporary living) 2-year-old cat. He, however, will take some time, as well. As the cat guru reiterates, you cannot throw strangers-cats or dogs-into a room together and "let them work it out. As for Oreo & Sparkles, they were more open and curious toward the resident animals, not yet territorial or overburdened with previous bad experiences, it appears. With proper, slow introductions, these two may get along with other dogs and cats. That said, Oreo may not be able to get away from another dog or cat in the same way other cats can, by climbing high, leaping, or racing as fast as his sister. He can run, but for shorter distances; he can climb into low-medium places, like the litter box, a normal height couch or (people) bed, and will use other objects to climb and explore. I set a fabric two-step climber by the bed, but he'll use an ottoman or whatever is available. Oreo has Cerebral Hypoplasia (CH); his case is mild and requires very little extra care. CH affects the part of the brain that controls balance, so Oreo will do better with a modified litter box with high sides so he can lean, (and cleaned twice a day, because so far, he and Sparkles share the same litter box, even though there are two in the room. Put it in an easily accessible area (with a little privacy). Oreo may prefer carpet, stable rugs, and a scratching mat, rather than a scratching post. He'll do better with raised food bowls, but it isn't a necessity. His back legs stand a little wider than his front and his gait has a swagger, or 'wobble' as its sometimes called, which is how he manages balance. If Oreo becomes stressed, which I don't see much now that he's comfortable here, he gets a little tremor in his upper body. You can't see it as much as you can feel it if you touch him; it's a normal part of having CH. Oreo is a little fearful of being picked up. His legs splay out into the air, as if grasping for control for the landing, should he fall or be dropped-understandable. I learned to hold him close against me, from head to toe, a more secure hold, which helps a bit. I haven't tried a cradle hold yet. He doesn't hop baby gates but does seem interested in getting down the stairs: he ducks his head through the rungs and tries to sneak through. It would not be good if he fell, and that's also the reason Oreo, and other cats with CH, cannot safely be outdoor cats-not to mention all the other dangers. Stable, secure flooring and room to move, where he can exercise his muscles to better support his balance is key. Furniture that he can use like graduated steppingstones is helpful. Oreo seems to be aware of and manages any movement limitations quite well. When he's unattended, I leave him (and Sparkles) in a 'safe' a carpeted bedroom that's been 'catified.' CH won't get worse over time and is not contagious. Oreo-and many other cats like him--can live long, happy, and healthy lives with his mild case of CH; their brains are normal in every other way. Finally, Oreo is deeply bonded to Sparkles. When he was separated from her after their neuter and spay, respectively, he became despondent, not eating, drinking, or moving. His condition improved after rejoining her, where they could cuddle and sleep together. They've been each other's keeper since birth. ** See photos of Oreo climbing about. Both of these kitties' coloring and unique marks are stunning. Upon vet examination, Oreo has a suspected mild case of Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) which is the result of the improper development of the part of the brain needed for balance and voluntary movement. It is a lifelong disability but it doesn't affect any other organs. Even though Oreo is a wobble kitty, he is a very good boy and uses his litterbox accurately and eats his food as neatly as possible. Oreo is about one year old, he is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting this sweet wobbly boy (and his companion, Sparkles), please submit an application on Carver Scott Humane Society's website.

She can entertain herself-they both can-and is a good listener-both siblings are very teachable. It's amazing that her tiny little self is capable of such daring leaps. She's Supergirl Cat! Sparkles rolls over on her back for a full-body stretch, beckoning tummy rubs; I've never experienced a cat like either of these cuties. Anyone who's raised kittens knows that one-year-olds are far easier because they've figured out a lot more of their world, are less messy, have fully expressed personalities. Sparkles is about one year old, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. Story
Meet Iris! This friendly Tortoiseshell cat was born around May 2022 and was found as a pregnant stray. Iris will let you place her in your lap, staying for short sessions of petting or brushing. At other times she likes to sit next to you. Iris tolerates being picked up, preferring to be held upright. She enjoys playing with toys by herself and interactive ones with you. Iris is kitten-active and affectionate on her terms. She is hesitantly friendly with strangers after about an hour and if you are late for meal time she will tell you so. Iris tolerates most dogs, prefers male cats, and hasn’t met kids, but should be fine with respectful ones over age 7. She uses a scratching post and has fine litterbox habits. Her older kittens are available. If you are gone 7 or more hours a day, please consider adopting two cats, as one cat usually gets bored. Two cats are easier to care for than one (they self-entertain while you are at work), and they are emotionally healthier (don’t get lonely and bored). This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax, and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Calicos and Siamese are $250+tx. Story
Henry is a quiet, active, mostly black kitten born June 2023. He is friendly with known people and shy around strangers. He greets you at the door, ankle rubs, and follows you around for a while. Henry is friendly and affectionate on his terms, tolerating being picked up, and enjoying brushing and petting. He jumps into your lap when you sit and stays for a short while, preferring to sit next to you. At times he rolls around in the foster mom's lap when she sits down. Henry purrs on contact with his trusted person. He is passive with cats, tolerates calm dogs, and hasn’t met kids, but if they are respectful, Henry should be fine. He enjoys watching wildlife at the window, playing with toys by himself or with you, and with the water in his dish. He has fine litterbox habits. Henry and his siblings were part of an unplanned litter. Are you the patient person willing to give him time to trust and blossom in a new setting and you be rewarded with a special relationship with him? Delilah is all white except for a black tail and 2 spots on her head. The vet thinks she was born in 2019. Delilah is quiet, avoidant of strangers, friendly with her trusted persons, and affectionate on her terms. She accepts a little brushing on her back, shies from petting, and doesn’t want to be held. If there is no competition, she rolls over on her tummy when playing with wand toys and also plays by herself with toys. Delilah enjoys watching wildlife at the window. She gets along with male cats and is competitive with some girl cats. Delilah has not met dogs or kids under age nine. She enjoys the company of her calico daughter, Dotty. Delilah needs a patient adopter willing to give her time to trust and blossom to be the nice cat that she is. She uses a scratching post and has fine litterbox habits. Story
Hi, my name is Casanova. I am from a local Minnesota Shelter. From the foster: Casanova is the sweetest boy - he can turn a non-cat person into a cat person very quickly. He is fairly low energy but does get bursts of energy and will occasionally want to play. He takes well to a scratching post and loves his squeezy treats! He is affectionate, but it's typically on his own time. He loves to lay on your chest and purr while he receives pets. He is extremely dog tolerant. While he doesn't necessarily want to play with canine friends, he puts up with their playfulness without hissing and swatting. This being said he should still be introduced slowly and be given plenty of room to hide and spaces that are just his! His temperament with other cats is unknown, but he would likely do well with slow introductions. He is a litter box pro and has used different kinds of litters and boxes, so he's not a picky guy. He's not a super loud kitty, but does get chatty when it's time for food or treats or attention. His forever person will be so blessed with the best boy, longest whiskers, and cutest pink nose. He is not the greatest at drinking water, so he does best with a wet food diet in the evenings.

These pups are in Chaska, Minnesota too!
