Story
-Guest Foster-Found running across a busy rural highway and dragging an attached leash, Obi was fortunate a Good Samaritan saw his plight and stopped to help him. Clearly lose and searching for his home, Obi was happy, alert and thankful for this hero. With no chip, no tag and no owners looking for him, Obi has been in boarding since then. He is a "stand out" at boarding and loved by his caretakers there.Generous with affection, Obi is an eager beaver who seeks you out for walks and soaks in your attention and petting. An intelligent dude, he's already house broken! Not much of a ball sports kinda guy, Obi gets along well with other dogs that and enjoys that camaraderie. His warm personality does make him exuberant sometimes, but his eagerness to learn will resolve that easily with the right focus. We currently have no experience with him and cats. Obi will do best in an active home and maybe even a companion to play with.

Story
Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 242 days as of 05/11/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane is currently staying with a foster family until she finds her FURever home. Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. If you are interested in making Sloane a part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. May 21, 2024, 4:59 am

Status: not yet available Monroe has been on our radar for over 18 months. Originally, she showed up with her two buddies, and one of our volunteers began feeding them and building trust. We found and rescued her puppies in January 2023, but Monroe remained elusive. She recently resurfaced, and we were able to catch her soon after her latest litter was born! She will be available for adoption soon. Questions about this sweetheart? Story
Meet your cutest curious companion...Ravioli (or Ravi for short)! Ravioli (born March 4) is always up for an adventure: so many sights and smells that must be investigated! Her curiosity has no limits: all indoor nooks and crannies must pass the Ravioli smell test. While she is a confident and independent gal, she's also playful and affectionate. After a good romp around the yard with her siblings, she loves a cuddly nap. Ravioli would do great in a home with another dog, or she could be your one and only. She is a puppy who is experiencing many "firsts" (like her first ball), but what she'd really like to experience is her first forever home! Don't miss out on this loveable gal! Story
Kodak is a special German Shepherd that is in need of a foster and/or permanent home. He came to us as a stray with a severe tail injury that required amputation. He is estimated to be approximately one and a half years old, current on vaccines and heartworm negative. In his time under our care we have learned that he is a very loving and intelligent boy. Unfortunately, he has a very severe case of separation anxiety that requires someone to be with him at all times. He knows how to 'sit,' walks well on a leash and is kennel trained, despite not wanting to be away from his people. He does not do well with other pets, but is a very loyal and friendly dog where humans are concerned. Kodak would love nothing more than to have a loving home with people to call his own.

Story
Tonka is a small-medium sized 2-year-old shepherd mix that came to us as a stray. He was timid when he first arrived, but has really blossomed. He would do best in a home with older children. Tonka walks on a leash well, knows how to, 'sit,' and loves to play. He is crate trained and can be a bit protective of that space where other animals are concerned. Tonka loves to please, is easy to teach and is the perfect size to load up and go on any adventure.

Story
Hello, I'm Serina! I've got a curious mind and a friendly spirit. Exploring new corners and sniffing out fun is my favorite pastime. I'm smart, too! Give me a puzzle toy and I'll figure it out in no time. My independence means I can entertain myself, but I love company. We could play fetch or just hang out. I'm always up for a new adventure or a cozy cuddle session. I've got a lot of love to give and I'm eager to share it with a family who'll cherish me. Adopt me and let's create our own fun-filled story together.
