Story
Adoptable Dog Ringo: Mostly Dog with a Splash of Polar Bear Meet Ringo! Found running skinny, scared and stray by a good samaritan, Ringo was taken to PHS in hopes our local humane society would help find him the family whose home he is going to brighten immensely. Unfortunately the only service PHS was willing to provide was euthanasia, so PACC stepped in. While PHS was "unable to introduce Ringo to even one dog due to aggression and resource guarding", neither of which he has, Ringo was running with PACC's pack the moment he met them. This guy is super pro-social and LOVES his dog buddies. We are looking for a home with other medium to large dogs for Ringo to romp with. If you have a high energy pup you'd like to run the battery down on, Ringo would be an excellent pick. He just can't say no to playing and he's got the genes and stamina to keep on playing, for as long as needed. Our boy's stats: ~2 yrs old, large, 85 lb, neutered male, up to date on vax and microchipped. As far as his lineage goes - go ahead and make yourself a cup of coffee/tea cause his DNA results take some time to plow through...here we go: 45% German Shepherd Dog, 17% Siberian Husky, 7% Chow Chow, 3% Australian Shepherd, 2% Australian Cattle Dog, 2% White Swiss Shepherd, 5% American Pit Bull Terrier, 4% Samoyed, 3% Akita...wait, we're not done yet... 3% Doberman Pinscher, 2% Rottweiler, 2% American Staffordshire Terrier...we definitely got our money's worth on this guy's DNA test...3% Labrador Retriever and 2% Catahoula Leopard Dog. Whew!! If you read all that you get your personal equivalent of a gold star. Ringo is big, super sweet, as affectionate as they come and goofy as all get out. Plus he's just a pleasure to look at. He does have what we call separation anxiety - so all you introverted home bodies who feel guilty for not being more social and outgoing - this guy prefers your type. No more social stigma for wanting to stay at home, Ringo will stay with you! That said, when in the company of another dog(s), and you leave him, he lets out a coupla of weird "I'm gonna die" sounds and then just resigns himself to awaiting your return. He is easy peasy to walk on leash - no rotator cuff injuries with this guy - he's a little nervous out and about, likes to stick close by and the upside of that is that he does not pull. Ringo's signature move is sometimes, but not always, stirring his water with his paws before he drinks. Maybe the good stuff is at the bottom? PACC is looking for a moderately active, homebody type family where Ringo will not be left for long hours alone and a solidly (high) fenced yard for him to play and do his business in. The more medium to large dogs the merrier, as he does like his frens. Children in the home should be 10+ because little humans take time, dogs take time and few families have time for both. Ringo has not been around cats so we prefer a home without our feline friends to avoid wasting everyone's time should he be too interested in them, and lastly a family that would like to turn up the joy factor in the home and the beauty aesthetic by having this lovely creature roaming the house. If Ringo sounds like a good fit with your situation, COPY AND PASTE THE APPLICATION LINK BELOW INTO YOUR BROWSER and we will be in touch once received! https://forms.gle/fEjKqre4rGP6bZCd8

Story
Hi there!  My name is Bella and I'm a 9-year old, spayed German Shepherd that currently weighs about 65lbs.  I'm a sweetheart that's looking for a forever home! Don't let my 'old age' fool you, I'm still a spunky girl who loves to run! I am great at doing zoomies and I will slide in for belly rubs! I'm a smart cookie that enjoys working on my training, especially if you have some nice treats to offer. I love to hang out and chew on my toys once I've gotten some energy out by playing fetch. I prefer human attention over dog friends but I've been able to coexist with neutral/mellow dogs. I may be a senior but I'm still a spry active lady and would do best in a home with doggy savvy kids. For more information, just ask Customer Service about Bella!  ID# A924534Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Interested adopters must arrive at least 1 hour before close.  We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Kurlys!  I'm a 1 and a half year old, neutered male, German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute mix that currently weighs about 80lbs.  I'm still a growing boy so I'll do best with a family that is prepared for a very large dog. I'm a curious boy that loves human attention and can't wait to make new friends.  If you have a resident dog, please make sure we have a chance to say hello before adding me to your family. I still have a lot to learn so I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to continue my training and give me lots of exercise! I'm a good boy who already know sit, down and shake (both front paws). I get a little bit stressed when I'm left alone so I would do best with a family that understands I need a little extra attention. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Kurlys! ID# A940881 My foster family thinks that I am the bees knees! Here's what they had to say: 'Kurlys is doing great! He's a bit scared of busy areas but he does great on walks around quiet neighborhoods. When he plays with other dogs, he's pretty gentle. He is learning to be alone at home and doing fine for up to an hour.' Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 29th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $650   Avocado is a 13 week old German Shepherd mix who is ready to make your life guac-some! This amazing dude was dumped at a shelter after he got “too old” for the home who originally got him. We don’t know either. Avocado has been a fabulously hilarious boy since he jumped into the arms of our rescuer and he hasn’t looked back since. Avocado will be in the 50-65 pound range when he reaches his adult weight, so he’d be perfect for homes looking for a dog with extra love to give! Avocado can’t wait for a lifetime of sombreros and siestas with you!    Avocado is ready to make the world his oyster! This bouncy boy has two modes: play time and nap time as of now, with occasional breaks to snack on his kibble. He literally bounces across the room and squeaks with excitement when you give him affection. Avocado is happy to sit at your feet or next to you on the couch and we suspect he will get his cuddle on as he gets bigger. He is happiest at the side of his people, whether on an adventure or napping on your feet. He is also super smart and food motivated, so we can’t wait to see all the tricks he learns as he grows up. This boy also loves giving kisses and getting them in return. He is such a lover. Avocado is a big zoomies guy, racing around the house and yard with his chosen toy before he crashes over his own feet to take a well deserved nap.  Avocado starts his morning at 6:30 AM with a whine to let you know he’s ready to get the day going! After heading outside for a potty break, he tussles with his foster brother before he gets another nap in. Once he’s up for good, he gets his breakfast in the kitchen. When his foster mom works from home, Avocado spends the day alternating between chasing his foster siblings around the yard and taking long naps in his pen. Avocado is a very silly and playful little guy. After a long day of playing with his pile of soft toys, Avocado comes to find his foster mom when he’s ready for dinner. He has dinner at 7 PM and then spends his evenings playing with his human foster siblings in the backyard. After a long day of fun in the sun, Avocado goes outside for one last potty break before he heads to his crate for the night.  Avocado gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine companion to romp around a yard with. Like any puppy, he is still working on his behavioral and obedience skills, so we will expect interested homes to provide a plan for training and socialization. Avocado currently thinks the cats are chase toys, but he isn’t aggressive towards them. Avocado has such a big heart and we know he will make your life complete once you bring him home!    Avocado is only an option for those with recent prior dog experience, especially those with large breed experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.July 8, 2024, 11:11 am
