Castro Valley, CA

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
German Shepherd Age: < 1 yr old Female, Spayed 40 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheyanne was brought to the shelter as a very young, small, emaciated puppy with two broken legs (assumably from being hit by a car). Since as a German Shepherd, she had a lot of growing to do, the only viable option was to splint the legs and hope for the best. Fast forward 5 months and her front leg healed pretty well (which is good - front legs are more critical than hind legs for mobility. Unfortunately, we weren’t as lucky with her back leg. The severity of the fractures, impeded the needed bone growth, and the leg ended up shortened. There are ongoing discussions with the vet about whether to amputate that leg. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs will cover the cost of the amputation, if that happens. Otherwise Cheyanne is a sweet dog that needs a lot of socialization with people. Shepherds are naturally wary of strangers, so continuing her peoples skills is important. She loves all the dogs in her foster home. We don’t put shepherds in homes with cats. A home with another well socialized dog around her size would be ideal. Please note for large breed dogs, we require that potential adopters own their home, with a securely fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Cheyanne, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

German Shepherd Dog Chihuahua

Male, 1 yr 8 mos
Castro Valley, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Shepherd Mix Age: 1 yr old Male, Neutered > 30 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Roth came to the shelter as a stray with a serious issue with his pee-pee (paraphimosis). The shelter’s vet did emergency surgery, then called us to rescue him. Unfortunately, the first surgery was unsuccessful (scar tissue closure causing the inability to urinate) so our vet had to go in do another surgery. So far, it is all good, however, he may need another procedure as he gets bigger (if he gets bigger). Given his mix with Chihuahua, he main remain a medium-size dog. Otherwise, Roth is a sweet, happy-go-lucky puppy that is people and dog friendly. He walks on a leash. He will need some training on jumping on people, and a few other puppy manners. Roth needs a home with another playful dog(s), probably close to his size or larger. Potential adopters must own their home with a good size fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Roth, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Meet Kyro, a gorgeous 10-month-old shepherd mix with a heart full of curiosity living a world that sometimes feels a little too big (and loud!). Kyro is eager to explore, learn, share his love and build confidence with his new found family at his side - and lots of snacks of course! While Kyro is still a teenager and eager to be active and energetic he is also a sensitive soul that can be overwhelmed with new situations and people and would love a patient family that will let him explore at his pace. Kids middle-school age and up may be a paw-fect match for his needs! Kyro gains a lot of confidence and comfort from those that he trusts, he will even lean into you for big ol' puppy hugs. Kyro has done well with meeting dogs and is quite playful and exuberant, so if there are other resident dogs he may need some coaching to learn to take breaks from all the fun. Kyro's name means victorious one and he is hoping to be victorious in finding his fur-ever home. If you're ready to be a steady, loving and fun dog companion come on in to meet Kyro today! Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:7Capri is a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a tender heart and a gentle soul. At 55 lbs, she’s a sensitive girl who’s learning that the world isn’t so scary—and she’s hoping for a patient, loving adopter to help guide her there. Capri walks beautifully on leash, enjoys gentle pets once she feels safe, and is very treat-motivated (she already knows sit!). While she’s been nervous in the kennel, once outside, her sweet and affectionate nature shines through. She’d thrive in a calm, quiet home with no young children, a predictable routine, and possibly a confident dog friend to show her the ropes. Prior experience with shy or fearful dogs is a plus. Capri doesn’t ask for much—just a soft voice, a slow approach, and someone to believe in her. If you’re the kind of person who sees beauty in the quiet moments, Capri might just be your match!June 9, 2025, 6:35 pm

He's friendly and enjoys attention from people, though he may be a bit anxious in the shelter environment. Out in the yard, he explores with purpose and checks in for pets, showing signs of knowing his name and responding to recall. He's smart and ready to learn. Jetski would thrive in a home that can give him both mental and physical stimulation, along with the structure and affection he craves.
