We adopted Rudy from ARF (Now called Joybound in Walnut Creek) when he was a puppy. He is a 5 year old brown Shepard-Pit and weighs about 60 pounds. Rudy is a playful, affectionate companion who brings so much joy to the people around him. He loves going on walks and playing fetch in open fields, but he's just as happy cuddling next to his favorite person. Rudy would thrive best in an adult-only home where he can get the attention and calm environment he deserves.

Rainey is a German Shepherd puppy with the sweetest soul and a wonderfully calm demeanor. He’s gentle, affectionate, and eager to please his people—an old soul wrapped up in a puppy’s body. Rainey is already potty trained and crate trained, and he’s just beginning to learn his basic commands. Unlike many puppies his age, he is not mouthy and shows an impressive level of self-control and softness in how he interacts with people. One of Rainey’s most endearing traits is his love for snuggles. If you pick him up, he’ll gently wrap his front paws around your neck and rest his head on your shoulder, as if he was made just for cuddling. When it’s time to slow down, Rainey is perfectly content to settle in with you. Late afternoon nap? He’s in. Quiet downtime? He’ll happily lay by your side and relax right along with you. Rainey also has a playful side and loves a good game of “cat and mouse,” especially with his sister. He’ll chase her around for a toy, steal it, and then proudly invite her to chase him back. It’s all good-natured fun and part of his charming personality. Importantly, Rainey does not show a prey drive, and because of this, we believe he is cat workable with proper introductions. He also absolutely adores the little kids in the neighborhood, greeting them with calm curiosity and gentle affection. She’s confident, athletic, and full of personality—perfect for an active family looking for a dog who can keep up. Lainey is potty trained and crate trained, and she has just begun working on her basic commands. While she loves her treats, they haven’t quite become her training motivation yet—she’s a smart girl who will shine with consistent, experienced guidance and breed-savvy handling. She plays well with her sister and takes direction appropriately from the larger dogs in the home, who have made it clear she’s not the one in charge. Lainey is already showing signs of a prey drive, so she may not be a good fit for a home with cats. However, for adopters with German Shepherd experience, this is something that may be manageable with proper training and structure. Lainey especially loves navigating obstacle courses and balancing along a brick retaining wall—early signs that she would thrive in agility or other canine sports. Though she’s a petite girl, don’t be fooled—she has impressive strength and spring in her hind legs and easily leaps over other dogs when playing. Baron is a sweet 6 month old German Shepherd who didn’t have a good start to life. He was born and lived in a backyard until he and his siblings were surrendered to the shelter. Shelter life was hard on Baron. He was shy, scared, and not available for adoption. He would be euthanized. We saw potential in Baron and rescued him. What we know so far is that he wants to love so badly. He loves children and men particularly. He will gently kiss their hands and give big wide tail wags. He is dog friendly, crate trained, didn’t pull on leash, and has never had an accident in the house. He takes a little bit of time to warm up, but is the sweetest guy. ##2634884##
