Story
Meet Marci, our sweet 5-month-old black German Shepherd puppy who needs a forever home. ♥️ She joined our family at 3 months and has brought so much love and joy, but due to landlord permissions, we can no longer keep her. We want her to be cared for by good, loving people. Marci is affectionate and gentle. she’ll follow you from room to room, sit by your feet, curl up close, and look at you with pure love. She’s soft-hearted and craves attention and connection. Smart for her age, she knows “sit,” “wait,” “leave it,” “no ouch,” and “quiet.” She’s learning gentle kisses and cues like “inside” for crate training. She waits for meals until given a “yes.” She loves chewing on ice + treats, loves going on walks, exploring, and playing with chew toys, ropes, and tennis balls. She’s playful, gentle, and never bites. Marci is spayed, microchipped, updated on all shots, and we can provide her records. She’s ready for a patient, loving family to guide her and give her a stable forever home.

Story
Rocky is a handsome 6 year old German Shepherd. We live in San Francisco with 2 cats. While fostering Rocky with a German Shepherd rescue organization, I fell in love and adopted him. Rocky likes people, especially those that like dogs! On walks Rocky is friendly to people, but sometimes has anxiety toward other dogs. Since working with a trainer, and socializing at doggie daycare, Rocky is calmer toward other dogs on walks. It would be a plus if his new guardian has experience. Rocky peacefully lived with another dog for 3 years. Due to my aging, I have made the difficult decision to re-home Rocky to a younger more active household. He loves to run, play ball, and go for car rides! He is very huggable. Rocky answers sirens with a wolf howl! Rocky is a happy dog with a smile that makes me smile.

Story
He’ll throw his own ball, sleep in positions you’re surprised are even physiologically possible, and is generally a very sweet, well behaved dog. People seeing him play think he’s uniquely wild, and people seeing him at your home will think he’s uniquely lazy and chill. He’s lived in both rural and urban settings, and will not bark when other dogs bark, the doorbell is rang, or people knock. Great companion for someone who works from home. Yard isn’t necessary, but he does really love a yard to nap in. Has happily lived with a baby/toddler and all their shenanigans. Looking for another home as he retires from service dog life and due to landlord-related circumstances. Overall a very sweet, gentle, and well trained dog. He absolutely thrives on having other dogs nearby, and is happiest when getting to play with other dogs daily. He loves a good off-leash sprint, wrestle session, or game of chase with his humans or another dog. Great with babies, toddlers, dogs, strangers, etc.

Story
Rumi is the kind of dog who steals your heart quietly: first with her soft tan fur, then with her one adorable floppy ear, and finally with the way she looks at you when she trusts you! She starts off a little unsure, staying close but cautious, watching the world with big, thoughtful eyes. But give her time, show her she’s safe, and she unfolds into pure love. When Rumi opens up, she becomes a snuggle seeking sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be close. She leans in, relaxes her whole body, and settles into the deepest, happiest cuddles. She’s gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet joy. Rumi is looking for someone who sees her softness, believes in her, and wants a loyal, loving companion by their side! Here's some notes from her foster: Rumi is a big girl with an even bigger heart! Her gentle, soulful nature and sweet spirit make her the perfect companion for anyone lucky enough to meet her. She’s soft-spoken (no barking) and loves nothing more than quietly taking in the world from her favorite window perch, “people-watching” like it’s her job. She’s been through a lot: from being someone’s beloved pet to becoming a stray, then finding her way to Muttville, and now settling into my home. Through it all, she’s handled every change with grace and quiet resilience, taking her time to process and trust again. If you’ve ever spent time with a German Shepherd, you’ll recognize that thoughtful, loyal energy right away! One of Rumi’s most endearing traits is how people-focused and intuitive she is. She’s incredibly smart and thrives with structure… clear, steady guidance helps her feel secure and show off her amazing potential. Rumi loves being part of the pack, whether it’s hanging out with humans or chilling alongside other dogs. She’s wonderfully adaptable, which makes her a great fit for homes with an established routine or other pets. For such a big dog, she has a funny way of trying to shrink herself into small spaces, which never fails to make us laugh. She’s strong, nimble, and loves a good walk or climb up the stairs. Rumi’s highly food-motivated (she’ll happily perform tricks for treats!) but she’s also polite… no counter-surfing here. She does best with a calm, consistent person who can keep her training on track. At home, she’s an angel… content to nap while you’re out, and overjoyed to greet you when you return. Rumi truly is a special dog with a kind heart and so much love to give. I can’t wait for her to find the forever family she’s been waiting for—they’re in for something really special…!

Story
Odette is a cheerful and spirited Belgian Malinois who loves the outdoors and can keep up with an active lifestyle. She is gentle and affectionate, often giving sweet kisses to her fosters and handling her treats and toys with care. Playful and social, Odette enjoys the company of other dogs when properly introduced. Odette thrives when she has a job to do and appreciates a home where her humans can delegate tasks to her. She loves to stay productive but also cherishes essential snuggle time. She is well-behaved in the house, enjoys cuddling on the couch, and sleeps on the bed near the pillow. However, Odette is not suited for first-time dog owners, homes with small children, small pets, or cats due to her high prey drive. A fence might slow her down, but it won't stop her from chasing critters. Belgian Malinois are historically herding animals and can make excellent guard dogs. Odette would thrive in a home with ample space to roam and attentive humans who can provide her with the mental and physical stimulation she needs. Additionally, Odette loves camping, making her an ideal companion for outdoor adventures. She is ready to begin her forever adventure. To schedule a meet and greet, fill out the online application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RTUG/Dog. A volunteer will respond in a few days.
