Story
Hi, I’m Astro, a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 63 pounds, and I’m what they call a gentle giant. I’m affectionate, well-behaved, and love being close to my people. I get along great with dogs and kids, and I’ve got a playful, curious side that comes out when toys are involved. I’m a bit of a “clingy” boy in the best way. I just really love attention and being part of your world. My friends say I’m sweet, gentle, and full of love. We’re not sure how I do with cats yet, but I’m ready to find a home where I can be your loyal companion and soak up all the love you’ve got to give.

Story
Hi, I’m Cowboy! I’m a 2.6-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 86 pounds. I’m a very sweet, smart boy who is affectionate, confident, curious, loyal, and always happy to get some attention. I know sit, shake, lay down, and stay, and I’m definitely treat motivated! I get along with other dogs, although a slow introduction is best. I’m still unsure about cats and kids. I can pull a little on the leash, but I’m a protective, independent guy with lots of love to give and I’m ready to find my person.

Story
💌 A Valentine from Riley 💌 Dear Future Best Friend, Warning: I will steal your heart. 💘 Not in a sneaky way...more in a “I’ll sit nicely, give you my paw, and look at you like you hung the moon” kind of way. 😍 I’m Riley, and I’m told I’m very handsome (I try not to let it go to my head). What really makes me special, though, is how much I love my people. Unlike some doggos, I’m not really motivated by treats. Instead, I’m motivated by YOU. 🫵 Your praise. Your smile. Your “good boy.” That’s the good stuff. Here’s what you should know about your future Valentine: ❤️ I’m housebroken and have great manners ❤️ I know lots of commands — sit, stay, paw, outside, come, couch, no… and I’m always ready to learn more ❤️ I love everyone I meet ❤️ I work very hard to remember not to jump when I get excited (because sometimes I just can’t help how happy I am to see you) ❤️ I’m eager to please and learn quickly All I want is someone to belong to. Someone to be proud of me. Someone who wants to come home to me. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, devoted best boy who will choose your praise over snacks any day… I’m right here. Will you be my forever Valentine? Love, Riley 🐾 ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Daren is a male dog. He was born on January 23, 2024. Daren was neutered in August 2025. He is one year old now and he weighs 65 pounds. He is fully vaccinated until May 2027. He receives his monthly deworming medication. He is healthy and eats Purina chicken kibble with frozen vegetables on top. As treats, he eats bananas, apples, and peanut butter. I walk Daren twice a day: morning and evening. Daren is house-trained. He goes putty outside. I trained him to follow the commands: sit “Sit”, paw “Paw”, down “Down”, dance, say several times “Tra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta” and hold a treat above his nose and he will do dancing jumps to reach the treat. Daren is a very playful and energetic dog. He loves to play with his oval squeaked balls on the balcony. Daren has so much LOVE to give and is ready to find his FOREVER HOME!

Story
Shay is a wonderful young dog that craves affection and company. She was found as a stray so we have no medical background. She appears very healthy with no medical issues found. She is very active, however she is good on a leash and is crate trained. She does like to jump up so she needs some training. Loves toys and will chase a ball. NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. We recommend that each adopted animal get a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption. September 9, 2026, 5:51 pm
