Story
Hudson is a very beautiful, smart, and loyal Golden Retriever mix and at 7 years old, and 55 lbs is very active for her age! She has been with her current family for 6 years, and is very loved, but is being re-homed due to concerns about her level of anxiety around their toddler. If you like to get out and exercise, Hudson would love to be your fitness partner. She walks nicely on a leash, and loves to hike and be outdoors. Hudson is dog selective (prefers male dogs), and wants to be the only dog in her forever home. She is completely housebroken and respectful when left alone. She is never destructive … no chewing or getting into anything she shouldn’t. Hudson spent some time living in an apartment in Brooklyn, and did not enjoy the city environment … she is much happier now living in the quieter suburbs with a fenced-in backyard. Hudson prefers an adult-only home to enjoy with her forever family... with an experienced dog owner who is committed to continuing her training. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Daisy is a 10 week old female purebred AKC Golden Retriever who was surrendered with her brother by their owner in rural Mississippi. This pup lives in the house with her foster family where she's lovingly cared for while awaiting her forever home. Happy, playful, outgoing puppy! Full of fun and life, very confident and never meets a stranger. Well-socialized, growing up around kids, cats and other dogs. Instruction has begun with crate training, housebreaking and leash walking. AKC registration.  DOB is 4-20-24. Weighs about 20 pounds, healthy, altered and utd on shots. This is an adorable puppy with a happy, loving temperament who will make a great companion for a family who loves the breed. Here's a note from the foster mom: 'AWESOME PUPPY! Sweet, loving and affectionate. It's so much fun watching her learn what toys and treats are for! She sleeps 6-7 hours in the crate at night, learning how to walk on a leash. Is very in tune with people, very intelligent and eager to please. Plays sweetly with the young kids next door. She's 'learning the ropes' from our big dog, following him everywhere and trying to keep up. Very nice pup, will be a great family dog.' Story
Meet Pinky, the adorable 6-year-old Goldendoodle who is ready to steal your heart! Despite a rough start in life, Pinky is a shining example of resilience and love waiting to bloom. She was surrendered from a backyard breeder, where she likely spent much of her life isolated, uncertain and underloved. But don't let her past define her - Pinky is a true sweetheart in every sense of the word. While initially a bit nervous, she's shown incredible progress thus far. This sweet girl has a preference for women, feeling most comfortable in their presence. While she may take a little time to warm up to men, once she does, she becomes a loyal and trusting companion. Pinky has also shown to be good with kids, although she may prefer older children due to her gentle nature. Pinky would thrive in a low-traffic home environment where she can feel safe and secure.  What Pinky needs most is a loving home with a patient and confident resident dog who can be her guiding light. Someone to show her that the world is full of belly rubs, squeaky toys, and warm cuddles. Pinky is already starting to come out of her shell, warming up to the idea of love and companionship like she's been searching for it her whole life (which, let's face it, she has!) If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet soul, don't hesitate. Pinky is eagerly waiting to shower you with the love and affection she's been saving up just for you. Apply for adoption at peace4paws.org/adoption-application from your laptop or computer and get ready for a lifetime of cuddles and happiness with Pinky by your side.If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Biggie is 1 1/2 years old. He has a been a great dog- after some training. He is fully crate trained- he’s able to stay in his crate all night while sleeping and throughout the day whenever necessary. He does not bark in his crate. He is fully potty trained. We walk him about three times a day to use the bathroom. However, He has started displaying some insecurity issues and has started demonstrating aggressive behaviors to strangers when he is afraid. I have spoken with a trainer and his behaviors are not something that can’t be fixed however, I am pregnant- which came as a surprise and it’s something we cannot handle at the moment, financially and regarding space in our apartment. Biggie is energetic and very lovable but unfortunately because of lack of training does not do well around a lot of people. This has become problematic for us as we have a large family that likes to visit. Biggie will thrive with a family that does not have lots of people in and out the house.

Story
*I have an adoption pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need.* Chester is another pup that was turned into our rescue by a couple in MS who dabbled in backyard breeding. He is about 6 months old and is a beautiful red purebred Golden Retriever. He is a shy fellow and has done well being fostered together with Sunny. Therefore, the two dogs are to be adopted as a bonded pair. Chester has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and is heartworm negative. He weighs about 50 lbs and is still growing. He has been given a Proheart 6 injection that provides 6 months of heartworm prevention. Chet has an adoption pending but he hopes you will consider one of our other deserving dogs. Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to lean more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. SGRR ADOPTION FEES - Effective May 1, 2020 (subject to change) $750 Puppy - up to 6 months $650 Young 6 months - 6 years $550 Senior 7 - 9 years $450 Senior 10 years and older $550 Young Special Needs $400 Senior 7+ Special Needs $1000 Young Bonded Pair $900 Senior 7+ Bonded Pair A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog.
