To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Tanner is a 10 week old male purebred AKC Golden Retriever who was surrendered with his brothers by their owner in rural Arkansas. This pup lives in the house with his foster family where he's lovingly cared for while awaiting his forever home. Happy, playful, outgoing puppy! Full of fun and life, very confident and never meets a stranger. Well-socialized, growing up around kids, cats and other dogs. Recommended for children 6 years and older. Instruction has begun with crate training, housebreaking and leash walking. AKC registration.  DOB is 12-24-25. Weighs about 15 pounds, healthy, altered and utd on shots. This is an adorable puppy with a happy, loving temperament who will make a great companion for a family who loves the breed. Here's a note from the foster mom: 'AWESOME PUPPY! Sweet, loving and affectionate. It's so much fun watching him learn what toys and treats are for! He sleeps 6-7 hours in the crate at night, learning how to walk on a  leash. Is very in tune with people, very intelligent and eager to please. Plays sweetly with the young kids next door. He's 'learning the ropes' from our big dog, following him everywhere and trying to keep up. Very nice pup, will be a great family dog.' Story
This is JC, a handsome blonde golden mix with a soft heart and an even softer coat. This golden boy is more than just good looks — he’s a loyal, sensitive companion who will thrive in a loving family environment. Jace is known for his sweet, steady energy and his signature soulful eyes. He loves quiet evenings, cozy spots on the couch, car rides and leisurely walks by your side. He isn’t the wild party type —prefers a relaxed home where he can truly bond with his people. He would thrive in a home with gentle energy and a predictable routine. He is looking for a loving family so he can give his devoted, affections to and be the companion who will happily be your shadow and your biggest fan. We also think he'd thrive in a suburban home with a fenced yard so he can play and relax in the sunshine. Reach out to Long Road Home (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info on this sweet boy!

Story
Name: Gaon Age: 1 year Sex: Neutered Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Golden Retriever Color: Brown Weight: 14 kg Height (shoulder): 55 cm   Rescue Story   Gaon spent his early life tied to a metal chain fixed to a stake in the ground, severely limiting his movement. As a young and active Golden Retriever, he grew up without the freedom to run or explore during an important socialization period.   When he was rescued in October last year, he was extremely overstimulated and excitable. In the rescue footage, he was even able to pull the deeply embedded stake out of the ground and run around the mountain area.   Due to his high arousal level and impulsive behavior, a veterinary consultation suggested impulse control issues. Since December, Gaon has been staying at a foster home where he has been receiving behavior training along with medication for about 3 months.   With consistent structure and training, Gaon has shown significant improvement and is now much calmer and more stable.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Gaon is very affectionate and people-oriented. He enjoys attention and will approach both familiar people and strangers to lean against them and ask for pets.   Because he is still young and playful, he can be easily distracted and may move between people looking for attention.   He is comfortable with men and has also shown good tolerance with children under 13.   Anyone can gently lift him by placing arms under his belly, although he may wiggle slightly at first due to excitement.   Gaon can sometimes become nervous when someone is holding a stick-like object such as a broom or mop, and may crouch or appear fearful in those situations.   Socialization with Dogs   When he was first rescued, Gaon would rush toward other dogs out of excitement and lack of social experience. Because of this impulsive approach, conflicts could occur with less tolerant dogs.   After about three months of training and medication, his impulse control has improved significantly.   Currently, he generally ignores other dogs unless they repeatedly bother him or rush toward him while barking.   Gaon tends to be very people-focused and prefers staying near humans rather than playing with other dogs. Because he can show mild jealousy over attention, he may do best as the only dog in the household.   Cats   He has seen stray cats and did not show strong reactions. A proper cat test can be conducted if needed.   Energy Level   Although his energy level has been moderated through training and medication, Gaon is still a young dog who spent much of his early life unable to move freely.   He will benefit from a home that can provide regular exercise, structure, and continued training to help him release his energy in healthy ways.   Walking   Gaon tends to pull on the leash but also pays attention to his handler while walking. He loves greeting people during walks and often wants to approach them for attention.   Other Behaviors   • He does not guard food from people but may growl if another dog approaches while he is eating. • He may show some separation anxiety, so gradual training may be needed at the beginning. • He may bark to express his needs or when he wants attention. • He can get in and out of the car on his own.   Gaon currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty, but because he sometimes tears up pee pads when bored, outdoor potty training is being encouraged.   He usually eliminates within about one hour after eating, and since he can hold it overnight, he may sometimes have an accident in the morning if not taken out early.   Gaon is a bright, affectionate young dog who has already made great progress with training and care. With a patient home that can continue providing structure, exercise, and guidance, Gaon has the potential to grow into a wonderful and loyal companion. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Oreo (GA): Your Future CookieFlavored SidekickIf your home has been feeling a little too… sensible lately, allow me to introduce the cure: Oreo, a oneyearold Goldendoodle who looks like a living tuxedo cookie and behaves like a professional goofball. He’s a stunning blackandwhite boy, 47 pounds of charm, sweetness, and comedic timing, all wrapped in doodle fluff. Oreo was surrendered through no fault of his own—his previous owner simply wasn’t willing to put in the time a young dog needs. Their loss is about to be someone’s greatest win, because this boy is the full package. He’s silly, he’s joyful, he’s wonderfully goofy, and he’s good with absolutely everyone: people, dogs, and even cats, whom he regards with polite curiosity and mild confusion. He walks beautifully on a leash, prancing along like every stroll is a redcarpet event held in his honor. At just a year old, he’s in that magical stage where he’s still full of puppy sparkle but already downloading the “how to be a good boy” software updates. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend, adventure buddy, couch companion, and daily source of laughter. Oreo is the kind of dog who makes strangers smile, who brightens rooms just by entering them, and who will look at you like you invented joy itself. If you’re ready to bring home a doublestuffed delight with zero calories and maximum happiness, apply to adopt Oreo (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Biscuit (GA) is the kind of rescue dog who makes you laugh first… and then breaks your heart a little. At just 18 months old, this big, beautiful 70lb Doodle arrived at the shelter looking like he’d lost a wrestling match with a tumbleweed. His coat was so matted he basically came with his own builtin storage compartments. Keys? Snacks? A small woodland creature? Who knows. But here’s the thing about Biscuit: even under all that neglect, he never stopped being a happy, friendly, ridiculously lovable boy. His tail wagged. His eyes sparkled. He greeted every person and every dog like they were longlost friends. Now that he’s safe, Biscuit is rocking his glow-up after a much needed trip to the salon. Now that his mats are gone, his handsome self is shining so brightly you may need sunglasses. Biscuit is the whole package: Great with people, great with other dogs and even cats; playful, goofy, and full of joy, a big boy with an even bigger heart. He’s ready for a family who will love him, laugh with him, and never let him fall into neglect again. Biscuit has already decided that every human he meets is his new best friend—he’s just waiting for one of them to take him home for good. Apply to adopt Biscuit (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.
