Story
Meet Quasimodo … aka Quasi, he’s a 5-6 month old husky mix. We named him Quasimodo because he had a little bit of a hunched back lol turns out he doesn’t really have a hunchback but instead, he kind of has two necks… it doesn’t seem to bother him as he acts like a total normal puppy. He’s been to four different veterinarians to be examined so it is just going to remain something special about him. That’s not the only unique thing about him though! He also has a little heart condition that is most common in cats so you get a two for one … a cat dog . Due to the heart condition he will have to be on heart meds for the rest of his life and will need to see a cardiologist at least once a year to keep track of condition. Even though he’s a cute hot mess you would never know because he functions and acts like a typical puppy. He loves everyone and other dogs. He enjoys car rides and visiting places. He does well walking on a harness and he thinks everyone should say Hi to him and give him kisses.  So if you are looking for a husky mix that’s low energy, that loves everyone and everything, that loves water and car rides … look no further.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   October 20, 2024, 10:26 pm

Story
Hello not-so-furry companions. I hear you like dogs, and I’m looking for a human! We could make the perfect fit. My name is Klover, spelled with a K not a C, because I like to be cutesy like that. I’m a 40 lb. Husky that is full of love and some doggy treats too.  I don’t mind being in my crate, I’m quiet which is pretty unusual for my breed. I like to go on walks, although I tend to want to see EVERYTHING while we are out and about. I’m a master at what the humans call being house trained, whatever that means. I get along with other dogs too, I just don’t always jump in to play with them. I will sit back and observe, but I have initiated some play even though I haven’t been with my foster siblings for very long. I’m great with kids, they love me just as much as I love them. One thing that is different about me you have noticed is I have one blind eye, tis nothing but a flesh wound. I love to cuddle after a day of excitement.  If I seem like a good fit, and you want to test me with your crew you should apply! I love meeting new faces. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Meet Sasha, a 2.5 year old Siberian Husky. She loves her people and greets them with a waggy tail and sloppy kisses. Car rides are her favorite activity, and she will sit quietly in the seat gazing out the window as she dreams of running along-side the car!  Whenever there is a car involved, she is the first one in when the door opens! She likes to play with toys, but quickly will get bored with the activity unless you change it up. Long walks are always anticipated and she will practically put her own harness on. She is crate trained and can demonstrate the basic commands, although, she is a husky, so obeying the commands isn't always 100% because huskies are stubborn! Wrestling with her people is one of her favorite things. She typically isn't destructive except for items like remotes, pens, pencils, and earplugs that are lying around. This girl is an extremely picky eater. She does respond to treats, but they have to be Sasha-approved! She's been known to turn her nose up at food to try to get you to give her what she wants.  At bedtime, she goes straight to her crate to sleep, but also enjoys sleeping on a dog cot in her owner's room.   Sasha is in need of the perfect home that has no small children for the duration of her life. She is currently in a family with 3 children , the youngest being 8, and gets nervous when kids are around. There have been instances of nipping/biting out of anxiety and resource guarding. As of now, we do not know if she can be around other animal companions. She struggles with fear and will lash out if she is anxious. At 2.5 years old, this beautiful girl needs to find someone experienced with her breed. She needs to have a fenced in yard to keep wandering animals out of her space and to protect children that could be walking by.  Sasha could benefit from someone who will be home a lot and can commit to helping her with the anxiety.  Adoption app: https://halok9behavior.com/ ##2206205##

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 9 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Gojo is very loving. I would say he is a very stubborn and energetic dog. Great for a family with lots of experience in dog training or at least someone that can dedicate time to him.
