He does well with calm, older dogs and cats, but busy, rambunctious puppies make him a bit nervous. At 10 years young and just 8 pounds, Woody has cataracts in one eye and a collapsing trachea, both of which are being managed. He’s looking for a quieter, loving home where he can enjoy gentle companionship, comfort, and lots of love in his golden years.If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Ms. Coco is a breeder release that is loving the home life and all the wonderful things it has to offer. Coco is 10 lbs of pure silly poodle. She is coming out of her shell and discovering all things good, like couches, tennis balls, and loving touches from humans. She did have all BUT 5 teeth pulled but that doesn't stop her from eating crunchy food or chewing on doggie toys. She has a cataract in one of her eyes but that isn't any issue for her, she sees all the leaves outside and chases them when they blow in the wind (like I said she's silly!) Coco is fine with cats and really would prefer another dog in the house to show her the routine, however, the more I spend time with her, I realize that if she were an only dog she would be ok as long as her human was near so she can check in on them. Coco with going potty is rather easy, if she hops off the couch, she should probably go out to potty. Really that is her cue, just getting off the couch, she really loves the couch that much, I can only assume it's because it is way better than the kennel she spent all of her 8 yrs in before coming into rescue. Coco is very sweet; however, she is shy until she gets comfortable with a new person but that is typical of dogs in new places and new people. Coco loves chin scratches and head rubs and will almost climb in your lap if you start, so be prepared that if you start, you may never be able to stop because she loves it that much. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. History: Dot is an adorable little curly-q! She needed a second chance and an escape out of the commercial breeding world. She is a bit timid and shy at first but warms up quickly with some patience. She has underwent heartworm treatment and is officially ready to find a forever home of her very own soon! A note from the foster: Meet Dot (aka Dottie) – A Sweet Miniature Poodle with a Heart of Gold Dot, lovingly called Dottie, is a 6-year-old miniature poodle who’s been patiently waiting over a year for her forever home. She came to rescue as a breeder release with multiple medical issues, including heartworm and severe dental disease. She’s now fully treated, and although she had to have all of her teeth removed, she eats just fine and never turns down her favorite soft treats. Dottie is calm and independent, happiest when she’s relaxing in a cozy recliner or trotting around a safely fenced yard. While she’s not a lapdog, she loves affection on her own terms and adores belly rubs. She’s also surprisingly playful — her favorite game is fetch with a small squeaky ball, and she delights in squeaky toys of all kinds. Though she’s not fully potty trained, she’s doing well on a regular schedule with frequent trips outside. She gets along with other dogs but doesn’t need another in the home — she’s just as happy being your one and only or sharing space with calm companions. Dottie is looking for a peaceful, patient home where she can enjoy her golden years with freedom, kindness, and a few squeaky toys by her side. History: Ray is a super handsome boy who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with his smile and happy personality. He has his paws crossed to find his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Ray, also known as Raymond, is a sweet 7 year old neutered mini poodle that came to us as a breeder release. Raymond has come out of his shell slowly and is hilarious! He gives you the side eye when he’s not getting his way, will talk to you when it’s time for supper, his daily zoomies make me giggle, and he has started playing with small stuffed toys. He has started living his best life but is waiting patiently for someone to spend the rest of his life with. Raymond is potty trained when on a schedule. He gets two walks a day and is excellent on leash in his harness. We do have him on a special food that has helped with his reflux. He is on anxiety medication which has helped a lot in getting him settled. He is crated when I am at work, he does not like being in there and will tell you for a bit then will settle down. He is SO happy to see me when I come home he talks again telling me about his day. Because he does talk a lot I don’t think he would do well in a home with connecting walls. He sleeps with me on my bed all night. I have a 60 pound female labrador that he doesn’t mind being with, they mostly ignore each other. He loves meeting new people and dogs out on our walks. He is much more comfortable around women than men. He is my third leg when I am home so expect him to follow you around. His favorite place in the whole world is sitting on you or by you on the couch getting scratches. He loves getting tummy rubs! We have just started pulling out the blanket and he loves cuddling under that with me now. He is just the sweetest thing!
