I’m enjoying my new life in Minnesota learning to play and looking forward to retiring on a couch, eating treats, playing with my toys, and snuggling up with my people. I’ve been spending my days dancing around my foster home trying out ALL the toys and ALL the beds, sniffing ALL the smells in the backyard, and taking naps both inside and out. Things I’ve learned I love are attention, treats, attention, toys (especially squeaky ones), attention, breakfast and dinner, attention, and sitting in laps. And did I mention attention? Things I’m figuring out is pottying outside (I know to go outside, but usually go inside once a day just because i want to!), which things/plants are ok to chew (hint- phone charger cords are NOT ok), and sometimes other dogs (I want ALL your attention!) I play tug and chase with the right companion but they need to be ok with me being the boss. Things I’m not a fan of are storms and loud noises, strangers, and the super cold weather. I don’t know or care what cats are- boring! I’m poodly smart with a big personality and would love to learn more games and might benefit from working with a trainer to help me learn to share if I end up living with other dogs. I can get a little jealous and bossy!  I will let you know if it sounds like anyone is coming home so living in a place with shared walls won't work for me as all those noises make me anxious and our neighbors won't like me letting them all know!  I will also answer if I hear other dogs calling me, ignoring them would be rude! I don't really like the leash but love to go outside in my fenced in yard to go potty, so I will definitely need a fence!  Zoomies in the yard or chasing my people are enough exercise for me. What I want most in life is to snuggle my BFF and eat treats. Can you be that BFF? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abner is a breeder release three-year-old mini poodle weighing about 24 pounds. He has handsome golden brown curls with the cutest red highlights. Abner is a sweet boy but may be a bit shy at first. He loves his head and neck scratched and he would let you do that all day long if you're so inclined.  He recently discovered that he loves to take long walks and play in the back yard with the resident dog.  He may miss you when you’re at work, but he will be so excited to see you upon your return.  He is not a fan of crate training, but we've discovered that playing calming music or a show on the TV helps him when the humans can't be in the room with him.  This includes night time when he's most likely to let the humans know with crying and barking that he's unhappy about being locked in the crate.  Abner is on track to being housebroken and being taken outside frequently helps curb accidents in the house.  Car rides are a breeze though he may be a bit hesitant to get in the car. Once inside the car, he is very well behaved and quietly watches out the windows.  He does very well with cats and other dogs, but hasn’t had much exposure to children. I’m a five years young, bubbly, happy, affectionate, semi independent mini apricot poodle and I am a heart stealer for sure. I’m fully grown at 11 pounds of pure sunshine.   I love my little foster brother and enjoy hanging out with him all day but I’m also perfectly content to hang by myself too, so I’d do well in a home with another fur sibling or just fine on my own.   I’m slightly shy at the first meeting, but after an hour or so I warm up quickly and love to cuddle and be held.  My foster family keeps a belly wrap on me because I am a chronic leg lifter. I was recently altered and hopefully that habit will go away. I am a very good boy in the kennel. I sleep there at night and for naps. I would be equally happy to sleep on the bed because I settle down quickly.   I was a breeding machine for my first 5 years and not taken care of the way a little prince like me deserves. As a result, many of my teeth had to be pulled. Going forward, I will need regular dental check ups and softened food all the time and super soft doggie treats. I am a great eater though. I take treats like a perfect gentleman.   I absolutely adore running around my foster family’s fenced yard. They would love for me to have a fenced yard in my new home but it isn’t a hard requirement.   I absolutely hate the leash and fight it, but have been getting better about walking around the yard on one. I will need patience and training to get used to one. I haven’t been tested with kitties or kids however my foster family thinks I’d do well with a tiny human that’s respectful of my boundaries, calm and gentle.    I have shown a little bit of Alpha Flame tendencies so be warned I lift my leg a lot, I have been known to hump things (although that’s gotten way better since my alter), and I can growl a bit at things that invade my space - particularly fur pals that don’t have boundaries. My bark is a loud Yelp and can be piercing. For that, shared walls aren’t recommended, but when my humans are home (and they have been most of the time) I have been a very good and quiet boy.   Basically I’m an adorable little angel boy with so much love and personality to give. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Beetle. He’s a miniature poodle born 8/26/16. He is an absolute cuddle bug and sweetheart. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is kennel trained and quiet. He only barks if he feels like he’s been abandoned, such as, if I go outside and he’s in the house alone. He is good with cats, other dogs and lizards. Given his personality, I can only imagine he is great with kids too.  He’s currently working on potty training but wears a belly band without issue. He mostly poops outside but peeing outside vs. inside is about 50/50. He loves frolicking outside on a leash but is still earning etiquette and getting used to the feeling of the pulling sensation. He’s not yet been on a car ride but I hope to test that out soon.  Beetle is a relatively low energy dog who is content to sleep on the couch next to you for hours. He also likes to rest either on you or while touching you. He gives affectionate little kisses and will follow you around the house. If he’s in a kennel or playpen while we are gone, he stays quiet (we have a nannycam.) It’s only when he’s left alone loose in the house that he will get anxious. Overall, he’s a super sweet dog with no destructive tendencies. He’s a good eater and will wear little sweaters to keep him warm. He doesn’t like treats or toys very much but on rare occasions will show interest in them. He doesn’t mind being carried and can go upstairs but isn’t comfortable going down yet. Hello, my name is Lexi! I'm a 13-year-old, poodle weighing 53 pounds. I love hanging out with my foster family. I am happy to lounge beside them while they work and “help” them do chores around the house. Since I am more mature, I am perfectly behaved when left home alone. I am house trained, have excellent manners, and good with people of all ages and cats and dogs of any size. However, I am not a fan of my crate or closed doors. It is important that I keep an eye on my family. Also, I have a few minor health concerns. I get around well for my age, but have some arthritis like most older dogs. I still jumps, plays, and even chases my foster’s other dog. Plus, I have a few benign fatty tumors. They don’t bother me and don’t affect my health. I am still a very active gal. I love going on walks and playing with toys. Lexi is currently in a foster home and has very thorough vetting from her previous home. Her dad recently passed and her mom is in a home for Alzheimer’s.
