I’m enjoying my new life in Minnesota learning to play and looking forward to retiring on a couch, eating treats, playing with my toys, and snuggling up with my people. I’ve been spending my days dancing around my foster home trying out ALL the toys and ALL the beds, sniffing ALL the smells in the backyard, and taking naps both inside and out. Things I’ve learned I love are attention, treats, attention, toys (especially squeaky ones), attention, breakfast and dinner, attention, and sitting in laps. And did I mention attention? Things I’m figuring out is pottying outside (I know to go outside, but usually go inside once a day just because i want to!), which things/plants are ok to chew (hint- phone charger cords are NOT ok), and sometimes other dogs (I want ALL your attention!) I play tug and chase with the right companion but they need to be ok with me being the boss. Things I’m not a fan of are storms and loud noises, strangers, and the super cold weather. I don’t know or care what cats are- boring! I’m poodly smart with a big personality and would love to learn more games and might benefit from working with a trainer to help me learn to share if I end up living with other dogs. I can get a little jealous and bossy!  I will let you know if it sounds like anyone is coming home so living in a place with shared walls won't work for me as all those noises make me anxious and our neighbors won't like me letting them all know!  I will also answer if I hear other dogs calling me, ignoring them would be rude! I don't really like the leash but love to go outside in my fenced in yard to go potty, so I will definitely need a fence!  Zoomies in the yard or chasing my people are enough exercise for me. What I want most in life is to snuggle my BFF and eat treats. Can you be that BFF? I’m a five years young, bubbly, happy, affectionate, semi independent mini apricot poodle and I am a heart stealer for sure. I’m fully grown at 11 pounds of pure sunshine.   I love my little foster brother and enjoy hanging out with him all day but I’m also perfectly content to hang by myself too, so I’d do well in a home with another fur sibling or just fine on my own.   I’m slightly shy at the first meeting, but after an hour or so I warm up quickly and love to cuddle and be held.  My foster family keeps a belly wrap on me because I am a chronic leg lifter. I was recently altered and hopefully that habit will go away. I am a very good boy in the kennel. I sleep there at night and for naps. I would be equally happy to sleep on the bed because I settle down quickly.   I was a breeding machine for my first 5 years and not taken care of the way a little prince like me deserves. As a result, many of my teeth had to be pulled. Going forward, I will need regular dental check ups and softened food all the time and super soft doggie treats. I am a great eater though. I take treats like a perfect gentleman.   I absolutely adore running around my foster family’s fenced yard. They would love for me to have a fenced yard in my new home but it isn’t a hard requirement.   I absolutely hate the leash and fight it, but have been getting better about walking around the yard on one. I will need patience and training to get used to one. I haven’t been tested with kitties or kids however my foster family thinks I’d do well with a tiny human that’s respectful of my boundaries, calm and gentle.    I have shown a little bit of Alpha Flame tendencies so be warned I lift my leg a lot, I have been known to hump things (although that’s gotten way better since my alter), and I can growl a bit at things that invade my space - particularly fur pals that don’t have boundaries. My bark is a loud Yelp and can be piercing. For that, shared walls aren’t recommended, but when my humans are home (and they have been most of the time) I have been a very good and quiet boy.   Basically I’m an adorable little angel boy with so much love and personality to give. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Beetle. He’s a miniature poodle born 8/26/16. He is an absolute cuddle bug and sweetheart. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is kennel trained and quiet. He only barks if he feels like he’s been abandoned, such as, if I go outside and he’s in the house alone. He is good with cats, other dogs and lizards. Given his personality, I can only imagine he is great with kids too.  He’s currently working on potty training but wears a belly band without issue. He mostly poops outside but peeing outside vs. inside is about 50/50. He loves frolicking outside on a leash but is still earning etiquette and getting used to the feeling of the pulling sensation. He’s not yet been on a car ride but I hope to test that out soon.  Beetle is a relatively low energy dog who is content to sleep on the couch next to you for hours. He also likes to rest either on you or while touching you. He gives affectionate little kisses and will follow you around the house. If he’s in a kennel or playpen while we are gone, he stays quiet (we have a nannycam.) It’s only when he’s left alone loose in the house that he will get anxious. Overall, he’s a super sweet dog with no destructive tendencies. He’s a good eater and will wear little sweaters to keep him warm. He doesn’t like treats or toys very much but on rare occasions will show interest in them. He doesn’t mind being carried and can go upstairs but isn’t comfortable going down yet. Hello, I’m Peter a very handsome Miniature Poodle but I must admit that when I first came to live with foster mom, I was in rough shape. I mean seriously, my lovely fur was matted and I was absolutely TERRIFIED! That said, foster mom immediately loved me SO much that she got me all cleaned up and cared for in no time! Now, I feel great about myself and am getting more comfortable with home life. I have not met any cats or kids, and I am still afraid of new things, quick/sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises but I am getting better each day. If foster mom is sitting or lying down, I will approach her for loving pets and cuddles but if she’s moving, I keep my distance and will even bolt if she walks towards me so I will need a securely fenced yard. I know what “outside” and “stop” mean but I am still working on leash & potty training, and I bark when in the kennel/crate. I would love to have a canine companion who will help me feel more comfortable, teach me how to ‘dog’, and help build my confidence. I really am a sweet boy who is simply looking for the patience, unconditional love, and security that I SO richly deserve from my own fur-ever family! Barbie is currently looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt family only. She's a 20-month old miniature poodle mix that is already spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations and potty trained. She's currently the only dog in the home, but is known to have recently lived with dogs and did well and would likely do fine with dog-friendly cats also.  Initially shy and unsure, she will come around quickly inside the home once she feels safe. It's outside of the home where everything seems new and scary to Barbie - even the leaves falling from the trees causes her to tuck her tail and she can't wait to get back inside to safety. Barbie likes sitting in the window and watching the world and snuggling up with you. A patient foster or foster-to-adopt home willing to help her learn that the world around her is fun and safe and not scary. Another confident dog in the home that can help Barbie build her confidence would probably benefit her also.
