I came from Garland Texas under the hospice program. But after addressing his medical concerns, I am becoming a senior adoptable. A few words from his foster: Yoko is a senior dog that came from Texas in July. He is vision impaired, sweet and smart. He is housebroken and does well on a schedule. Mostly after he eats he needs to go out fairly soon after. He does get daily eye drops and can give some tips to give them easy. He is a good sleeper. He can go up the stairs with no problems, is best to be carried down stairs and he has learned to navigate his way around really well with very limited eye sight. A baby gate would be best to limit his space if you have stairs just to start and he would do fine with being kenneled when gone. He is turning into a happy little dog and likes going on short walks. He loves to wander around and sniff everything. He really is a special dog. A quiet home without alot of excitement is best and does like his own space especially when he is sleeping. He is just a sweet, mellow boy who gets along with both my dog and cat so no issues if there are other animals in the house. Medical Bio/From the Vet: We are so excited that Yoko is ready to find his forever home. He has been in rescue for a little over 1 year, and in that time we have been able to successfully manage his medical conditions. He had glaucoma in both eyes, one of which could not be successfully managed, so treatment was removal of the eye. His left eye is managed on two medicated eye drops. His hyperthyroidism is well managed on an oral medication called Levothyroxine. Bloodwork is recommended every 6 months while on this medication to account for any dose changes that may be needed. He has been started on 2 different anti-anxiety medications to help with some fear based reactivity. The estimated total cost of Yoko's medications would be approximately $50. We hope that we can find him a perfect spot to land to be spoiled and loved in his golden years!

This dog will be held for the state-mandated stray hold before he is eligible for adoption. This dog was found on the 600th block of Lincoln Avenue Southeast in the city of St. Cloud. Impound fees must be paid to the city of St. Cloud and a receipt must be shown at the shelter before he can be reclaimed. Additional fees at the shelter may apply. Eugene is a charming 16-year-old Shih Tzu gentleman who has perfected the art of enjoying the good life. At this stage, he's not looking for wild adventures or long hikes—he's looking for a cozy home, a soft place to nap, a little sniff around the yard, and most importantly, someone to adore. Eugene is wonderfully affectionate and loves meeting people. He'll happily make his rounds, offering each person a polite sniff and accepting their pets, but his heart really belongs to his person. Once he's chosen you, expect a devoted little shadow who follows you from room to room and settles happily at your feet while you work, relax, or watch a movie. At 16, Eugene is understandably a low-key guy. A yard where he can wander and sniff is plenty of exercise, and while his days of long walks are behind him, his playful side is starting to peek out again. Every now and then he'll surprise you with a little senior zoomie—especially when dinner is approaching or his favorite person has just come home. Those moments of puppy spirit are pretty darn precious. Eugene has some joint pain and doesn't do stairs. If he encounters a staircase, he'll simply station himself at the bottom and bark to let you know that he'd appreciate a little assistance, please. He prefers gentle companions who understand that an old gentleman isn't interested in wrestling or being chased. Calm dogs or cats who can politely say hello and then go about their business would be much more his speed. He's also mostly deaf, so loud noises and sudden movements can occasionally startle him. When things get a little too hectic, he'll retreat to a quiet, safe spot until the excitement passes. Overall, though, Eugene is very much over the drama and has settled comfortably into his peaceful old-man lifestyle. Eugene is working on his house manners, but his aging bladder sometimes has other plans. He needs frequent opportunities to go outside and wears a belly band indoors as a backup. His foster reports that he has not had any poop accidents in the house. Eugene is a jolly little Shih Tzu who has earned every bit of comfort and kindness that comes with being a senior dog. I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Hi everyone! I’m Lars, and I’m ready to find my very own lifelong person! ❤️ My story is a little wild—I was found as a stray behind IKEA. Apparently, even Swedish furniture stores can’t compete with my charm! Now I’m looking for someone to follow these very simple instructions: Connect Lifelong Adopter A ➡️ House/Apartment B ➡️ Add Lars ➡️ Live happily ever after. 🏡🐾 I’m a super friendly guy who warms up to most people almost immediately. I may give you a tiny little growl while I’m figuring you out, but don’t take it personally—I’m just doing my important background investigation! Once we’re acquainted, I’m ready to be your buddy.
