Wezley is about 4 years old, just over 20 pounds, and fully aware that he has opinions.He came to us after being relinquished because he started resource guarding his previous owner from her husband. Wezley takes his people very seriously, what can he say! In the right home, this is something that can be worked on. He is currently on medication for anxiety, and with structure, training, and continued socialization, he has a lot of potential to improve.Now that you know the serious part, here’s the real Wezley:He is a velcro pug in the truest sense. He wants to be near his person, always. He loves cuddles, sunshine, car rides, walks, running around, and rolling in grass like it’s his job. Then he’ll flip the switch and happily go off to sleep on his own like nothing happened.He also knows a ton of cues already: sit, stay, down, spin, roll, speak, wait, shake, outside, and all variations of “food” and “treat.” He is very smart and very food motivated, which is a big advantage for continued training.He does have some things he’s not a fan of, including nail trims, ear cleaning, loud noises, some male humans, and some larger dogs. So he’ll do best with structure, clear boundaries, and someone who understands dog body language and management.Since being with us, Wezley has actually done well with other dogs and all the people he's met! He can groom and relax with other dogs and enjoys being part of a calmer group energy. He also really likes people and is very into attention and belly rubs once he trusts you.Wezley is a lot of dog in a small body. Smart, affectionate, intense about his people, and full of personality. He’s not a beginner dog, but in the right home, he’s going to be deeply loyal and very attached to his person. Marta is about 5 years old, 14 pounds, and basically operates like a little love machine with legs.She was found as a stray and came to us with some medical issues that made it clear she hadn’t had the easiest time before. All four of her paw pads were infected and her eyes were dry and irritated. With treatment and care, she’s been healing really well and is feeling much more comfortable now!And her personality is honestly the complete opposite of her rough start. Marta is extremely affectionate. Like, very affectionate. She has a habit of giving nonstop kisses once she decides you’re hers, and she does not seem interested in stopping on her own. If you sit with her, she is on you. If you’re nearby, she is trying to be on you.She’s also playful and a little silly, especially with other dogs. She enjoys having friends to run around with and does best with dogs that are up for interaction and play.She’s food motivated, eager to please, and really responsive when you work with her. But more than anything, she just wants attention and closeness with her people. Whatever you give her, she gives right back in full.Marta would do best in a home where someone is around often. She really thrives on connection and doesn’t do well being left out of things for long periods. She’s sweet, affectionate, a little goofy, and very people-focused in the best way. Meet Yeti! Like the Abominable Snowman, but way more interested in cuddles than chaos, this Yeti is about 3 years old, 28 pounds, and originally came to us after being found as a stray. Now that he’s safe, he’s ready for the part where life gets good.This boy is a really nice mix of sweet, silly, and easygoing. He does great with other dogs, likes people, and has a gentle, friendly way about him that makes him easy to be around. He’s also pretty smart and has a soft little personality that shows more and more as he gets comfortable.Most of the time, Yeti is on the calmer side and just happy to hang out, go for walks, and be included in whatever you’re doing. He’s the type of dog who kind of just appears next to you like, “hey, what’s the plan?”He does have a little habit of getting overly enthusiastic in play with other dogs, which he’s working through, and he will be neutered soon which should help with that.Yeti also has limited vision in one eye, but you would barely know it watching him move around. He navigates life just fine and doesn’t let it slow him down.One thing that will really help him thrive is a home committed to helping him get to a healthy weight so he can feel his best and live a long, comfortable life.
