Story
Hiya friends, my name is Gadget! I'm a 1 year old, 19 lbs., neutered male Pug mix! I'm a happy go lucky, energetic little firecracker! I'm a playful guy who tends to have a more rough and tumble play style that not all dogs appreciate, I also love to run zoomies and play with toys. Due to my rambunctious nature, I would do best in a home with kits 10+. As you can see from my description, I'm a Pug mix. I have a lot of Pug characteristics but who knows, I am not really sure what I actually am. I could honestly be a little bit of everything and that way you get the best of everything in one dynamic little package!  Gadget ID#A975521Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.November 22, 2025, 2:34 pm

Story
Chato needs a foster—or even better, a foster-to-adopt home Chato is a 1-year-old male pug mix and one of the many sweet dogs in East San Jose who’ve spent most of their young lives outdoors. His family is ended up  letting him go , as the husband recently suffered a serious head injury and is preparing for surgery, while the wife is balancing everything alone—including caring for their 2-year-old (whom Chato absolutely adored). We met Chato, and thanks to a kind offer for temporary housing, the family felt safe surrendering him to our rescue. Now, this little guy is ready for the next chapter: a loving foster home—or even better, a foster-to-adopt family. Chato is friendly, affectionate, and still has that puppy sweetness. He loves playing with other dogs and his toys, but more than anything, he loves being near people—likely because he didn’t get to spend much time indoors or close to humans, having lived and slept in an outdoor kennel. He’s now neutered and fully up to date on vaccines. If you can open your heart and home to Chato, even temporarily while we search for his forever family, please reach out. Fostering truly saves lives. Please help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application :  www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow      December 3, 2025, 5:39 pm

Story
Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Mugsy is a sweet, shy, and quiet older puppy who’s being fostered with other dogs. He’s looking for a calm home with someone who’s looking for a little shadow. Mugsy craves comfort and love and is happiest in his human’s lap. He needs to be with someone who is home more often than not, especially during this phase of his life. Mugsy needs socialization and continued training in a calm household. He’s a true gem and if you can be patient with this dear boy and can provide a lifetime of care and love, he’d love to meet you. His estimated adult weight will be about 20 pounds, no guarantees.
