Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $1000   Luigi is a 1 year old Pug who is looking for his Mario! This handsome hunk was surrendered to a Southern California shelter and we got an emergency call to save him. Our amazing volunteer jumped into action and Mario Kart’ed her way over, where she was greeted by the world’s friendliest Pug. He placed his paw on her arm and the rest was history. Luigi has been living it up in his foster home but he’s ready to hit the Rainbow Road to find his forever people! Homes with prior experience with flat-faced breeds will be prioritized. Ready to win your Grand Prix? Meet Luigi!       Luigi is a handsome, curious, playful, snuggly, and did we mention handsome guy! He is so sweet and silly and has made even the most dog-wary people fall head over heels in love with him. Luigi loves his toys and would adore a treasure chest of plushies in his forever home. He would greatly enjoy a playful canine companion in his forever home but could also thrive as a solo pup, as long as he has a family to shower him in love. Luigi is very playful and has a puppy-like personality. He is go go go until he is ready for a nap and then he sploots on the ground and snores for hours. If you plop down on the couch, he will climb into your lap, delivering kisses as he waits for you to give him snuggles. Luigi would love a home ready for all the quirks that Pugs have to offer. He has a fabulous grumpy selfie face, a scrunchy tail that makes his entire body wiggle, and an excitement for the world around him. In fact, Luigi is so beloved that if his foster paw-rents didn’t already have two dogs they would keep him themselves. That’s high praise from one of our favorite foster homes!  Luigi starts his morning at 7 AM with his foster siblings, heading right outside for potty before he comes back inside for the most important meal of the day. After he’s eaten, everyone heads out on a short morning walk to stretch their legs. During the day, Luigi hangs in the house with access to the backyard for sniffs and potty breaks. He gets a small snack in the afternoon and then has his dinner around 5:30. Dinner is followed by zoomies in the backyard with his foster siblings. He gets an evening walk once the weather cools down and loves trotting his routes. Before bed, Luigi gets some attention and cuddles which he adores. After one last potty trip, he heads into his crate around 11 PM where he sleeps through the night.   Luigi currently lives with dogs of varying sizes and gets along with them all. He has interacted on leash with cats and has been interested but not forceful towards them. Luigi walks well on a leash but could use some training as he sometimes pulls due to excitement at seeing the world. Interested homes should be prepared to continue his training and socialization. Luigi is ready to find his forever home that will make him the center of their world. He can’t wait to meet you!!    Luigi is only an option for homes with prior dog-owning experience, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9. July 26, 2024, 2:33 pm

Story
Miss Piggy was found roaming the streets; her owner was not found, and she had no chip. We took her in from the person who found her. Unfortunately, we do not have the time to give her the attention she needs, she is extremely friendly and needs a lot of attention. Every time she is left alone, she is very sad. She needs an owner who works from home or has more friendly pets to keep Miss Piggy happy. We took her to the Vet, and she got most of her meds. We will also provide toys, a crate, a leash, food, flea prevention, etc. We do not know her age exactly, and she needs to get an ultrasound to see if the is fixed or not.
