Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $600   Goose is a 5 year old Pug mix who can’t wait to find his fur-ever family! Goose was rescued from the shelter after he was caught by animal control. We don’t know how anyone could have ever let this awesome guy go, but we promised him that he would never be forgotten again. Goose has all the Pug silliness and snorts that anyone who loves the breed will adore. He weighs 17 pounds and every ounce is a mixture of love and happiness! Don’t let this Golden Egg Guy go without bringing him home!     Goose is a lovebug who is looking for his Mrs. Right! After he got settled in, his personality came bursting out of him. He adores his people and will follow you to the ends of the Earth if you let him! Goose is a typical Pug who adores his food, so he will do just about anything for snacks and cuddles! While Goose can be a couch potato, he has also started showing off his playful side. He loves playing tug-of-war and zooming after a plushie. Once he tires himself out though he is ready for a lap as he cuddles up next to you! Goose will thrive in a home ready for all the goofy antics that come with the breed. If you want a dog-shaped vacuum, he’s your man! If you’re going to the coffee shop, he’s coming along hoping for a Pup Cup! If you want to have a movie marathon, Goose is popping the popcorn and hoping you drop some. It’s hard to resist Goose when he wrinkles his little nose and paws politely at your leg. He can’t wait to claim your lap as his throne!  Goose wakes up with a snort at 7 AM and wriggles his way onto the bed for some snuggles before he stretches and heads out for a potty break. He has breakfast around 8 AM and then heads out for a morning walk with his foster family. He loves greeting all his neighbors and sometimes even treats them to some Pug kisses! Throughout the day, Goose primarily naps on the couch as he snorts through life. He loves to follow around his foster siblings as they hang out in the yard. Once his foster siblings (human) come home from school, he delights in getting their affection, pets, and maybe even a cookie! Goose gets another walk in the evening before his dinner at 6 PM. In the evening, Goose snuggles on the couch for a few hours before he gets ready for bed.  Goose gets along very well with dogs of all ages and sizes. He adores people, especially kids. It took Goose a few days to get used to the leash but now he adores his walks. He wants to befriend everyone he meets out on the town. Goose is such a handsome gentleman who is going to make his lucky forever family feel so blessed!     Goose is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. He could be a fabulous first-time dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9. June 17, 2024, 6:48 am

Story
I got Eli in 2017 when I got out of the military, he was my anchor in that point of my life and really held me together. You know unconditional love was real. My life was going up and down and I moved out. I was unable to take him to my new place but left with parents. Unfortunately in that time he was neglected and unloved which he didn’t deserve. I failed as a pet parent to continue to follow up on him but I did imagine the state I would get him back in. Just recently was I able to take him home with me only to find out he has ( pigmentary keratitis, also known as corneal melanosis) he can barely see and has trouble hearing. He was infested with fleas and dirt. I’ve managed to clean him up. He deserves more he deserves to be loved and spoiled all through the day. But I come home to him knowing that puppy I had is hurting. I know the alternative but I can’t bring my self to that. If there’s someone who is willing to care for him and love him throughout the day that’s what he needs.

Story
Eight year old, Coal came to CIW because the other dog in his family would attack him occasionally without warning and bite his face. The family felt that there must be a better home for Coal where he would not live in fear and where he could shine. Coal is a happy, healthy, little Pug, who grew up with a cat and gets along with small dogs. He is neutered and microchipped. He loves people, going for walks and rides in the car. He is current with his vaccinations and has tested negative for heart worms. He is crate-trained for sleeping. He has all the energy and exuberance of a puppy. When he is happy, everything wiggles! If your family has been waiting to invite a sweet, gentle, little four-footed companion into the family, you may want to come and meet Coal!!! He's waiting to meet you! Please note: Coal does well with cats or dogsNeeds a securely fenced yardMore information & application [ts=1718636489&src=aap]

Story
Miss Piggy was found roaming the streets; her owner was not found, and she had no chip. We took her in from the person who found her. Unfortunately, we do not have the time to give her the attention she needs, she is extremely friendly and needs a lot of attention. Every time she is left alone, she is very sad. She needs an owner who works from home or has more friendly pets to keep Miss Piggy happy. We took her to the Vet, and she got most of her meds. We will also provide toys, a crate, a leash, food, flea prevention, etc. We do not know her age exactly, and she needs to get an ultrasound to see if the is fixed or not.
