Story
Shirley is a 2 year old altered female german shepard mix with a black and brown coat. notes from the foster:   Shirley is a very sweet dog who is also very shy and takes a while to warm up to people.  After living with her foster for eight months, Shirley is more relaxed, frequently wagging her tail, and finally confident enough to come in the house to get out of her sunbathing routine.  She walks well on a leash but occasionally startles at noisy cars going buy. While she does notice cats and squirrels, she is easily distracted to continue her walk.  Shirley would love to find another dog to play with. She tries to engage her foster brother GSD, but he is more of a sniffy dog than a good playmate.  I believe Shirley would do well with older children. She will need someone who is very patient and can continue to work with her on her basic commands like “Come” and “Sit”. Patience will be the key to winning her over as it may take time for this traumatized girl to learn to trust and love again.  Shirely has only had an accident in the house when left locked inside for too long. She’s good in the car and at the Vet’s office. Even though she may be afraid or anxious with new people she has never growled, bared her teeth or attempted to bite her foster mother.  ##2499007##

Story
Woody is my 3 year old Rottweiler, and he truly is the sweetest soul. He’s incredibly gentle, calm, and loving, and he has such a special way of making everyone around him feel safe and happy. He absolutely loves being around people, playing, and just being part of the moment—whether that’s going on walks or simply relaxing by your side. This is honestly one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. Due to my job requiring frequent travel, I can’t give Woody the time, stability, and attention he truly deserves, and that’s not fair to him. He deserves a home where he can be loved fully and have someone there for him consistently. I’m looking for a kind, patient, and safe home where Woody will be treated like family—because that’s what he is. My biggest hope is to find someone who will love him as much as I do and give him the life he deserves.

Story
02/11/26 13:48Meet Truck, our handsome young powerhouse with a big heart and an even bigger personality! At just a year old, this sturdy Rottweiler is still learning the ropes of the world and looking for a savvy adopter who can help him channel his energy in the right direction.Truck loves to explore — his idea of a good time is going for a walk where he can sniff every tree and blade of grass along the way. He’s not overly into toys, but you’ll see his curiosity shine when he’s following an interesting scent.Truck is easy to leash up and handle in and out of his kennel, and he’s always ready for adventure. However, he’s very strong on leash and tends to pull hard, especially when he spots other dogs or small animals. In the shelter environment Truck has been obsered displaying some reactivity with other dogs as well and can get a bit too focused on them - so for now, he’d do best as the only pet in the home, with no small dogs or cats. When excited, Truck can get mouthy or jumpy — typical teenage Rottie behavior! He’ll thrive with an experienced owner who understands large breeds and can provide structure, continued training, and plenty of exercise.Truck has so much potential to grow into a loyal, loving companion for someone patient and dedicated. If you love a strong, spirited dog and are ready to help him become his best self, Truck might just be your perfect co-pilot!Truck needs a patient and understanding adopter to help manage this behavior and grow his sociability!! Despite this observed reactivity in the shelter environment, he is still a loving dog who just needs an adopter to match and manage his energy! If you believe you could manage this behavior or just think he has a cute face, PLEASE come meet Truck today!!01/23/26 14:45On Needs Rescue for dog reactivity being displayed in shelter environment.1/16/26Truck is a strong, energetic dog with a lot of personality and enthusiasm! He responds best to experienced handlers who can help him manage his excitement. He can be mouthy and reactive when overaroused, so meeting him before adoption—especially if you have other pets—is highly recommended. With guidance and structure, he has the potential to be a fun, engaging companion for the right home.

Story
Meet Orso – Mr. Easy Peasy, He is a big-hearted, low-maintenance cuddle buddy looking for a low-key, chill home. 📍 Stats at a Glance: ✔️ Age: ~6 years old ✔️ Breed Mix: Rottie/Staffie/Pittie/Boxer blend ✔️ Size: 105 lbs ✔️ Energy Level: Low – a couple of zoomies or a short stroll, and he’s done for the day ✔️ House Training: A+ – totally reliable ✔️ Personality: Friendly and affectionate ✔️ Health: Neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped Orso’s journey hasn’t been easy—he found himself surrendered to the shelter on Christmas Day. While we don’t know his full past, he appears to have been loved (a little too much in the food department) - he came in obese and limping but PACC has taken care of both of those issues. He’s a gentle, loving soul who craves companionship, leans in for affection, and thrives on belly rubs. 💛 The Ideal Home for Oscar: 🏡 A calm, relaxed household looking for a teddy-bear to brighten the mood and lift your spirits 🐕 Orso is unpredicatable with dogs hence he needs to be the one and only center of attention 🐱 No cats—we’re unsure of his history with our feline friends and want to be respectful of everyone's time 🚸 Kids 10+ — because kids take time, dogs take time and families with little ones rarely have time for both Orso is one of the easiest dogs we've come across, in the right setting. His needs are clear and simple - a house with a fenced in back yard, and the occasional short sniff walk. He loves company but has zero separation anxiety and no destruction. Impeccable house manners. A retired couple who like to hang out at home and would love some company would be ideal. He's a simple guy, with simple needs!

Story
🧡 ADOPT RAMONA 🧡 (a.k.a. Mona • Moni • Momo) Ramona is an approximately 8-year-old, 75lb mixed breed who almost lost her life at Kern County Animal Shelter for the exact reasons dogs like her always do…older, overweight, and not “trendy” 💔 No one was coming for her. Not because she isn’t amazing… …but because she didn’t fit the look people scroll for. Then volunteers gave her a chance, a few Doggy Day Out trips and suddenly the truth came out: Ramona is everything people claim they want in a dog. Easy. Sweet. Low maintenance. Grateful just to be here 🥹 She may not be your typical bully breed… but at this point she’s basically an honorary bully 😂 She’s got the cutest frosty face and does these tiny toe-tap hops when she’s excited (especially for food or attention)…and it’s impossible not to smile watching her. She’s: ✔️ House & potty trained ✔️ Crate trained (but would absolutely choose a couch instead 🛋️) ✔️ Great with respectful dogs (medium–XL) ✔️ Calm, easygoing, and zero drama 🧬 Her DNA? Not “designer”… just perfect: • 41.5% American Pit Bull Terrier • 16.5% Rottweiler • 16.2% Chow Chow • 13.5% German Shepherd • 12.3% Supermutt No fancy label. No breeder buzzwords. Just a really, really good dog. The kind that gets passed over every single day while people keep searching for something “better.” Ramona isn’t asking for much…just a soft place to land, good food, and someone to love her for the rest of her life. After everything she’s been through—she deserves that and more. 📍 Fostered in Oakdale, CA 🐾 Ready for her forever home If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful, no-drama companion… stop scrolling. She’s right here 🧡

Story
Adopt Brownie – The Life of the Party in a 2-Year-Old Rottie Mix Package! 🍫 At just 2 years old, Brownie is bursting with joyful, goofy puppy energy and fully believes that every room she walks into is a thrown just for her. And honestly? She might be right. This playful girlie loves being the center of attention and thrives around her people. Whether she’s zooming around the yard giving her foster brother a run for his money, supervising yard work from the best sunbathing spot, or happily hopping in for a car ride, Brownie brings confidence and fun everywhere she goes. And while she absolutely enjoys playtime and adventure, she’s also a professional at sneaking in a few well-earned daily cat naps. After a good round of zoomies, this girlie is more than happy to recharge with a cozy snooze near her humans. ✨ Ingredients to Falling in Love with Brownie: • A heaping cup of dog-friendly sweetness (great with pups of all sizes) • A generous scoop of kid-approved gentleness • A dash of fearless confidence • Two big spoonfuls of playful yard zoomies • A sprinkle of sunbathing supervisor energy • Impeccable crate manners folded in perfectly • And the secret ingredient: an eager-to-please heart that makes training a joy Brownie is incredibly smart and working diligently on mastering patience with commands like “wait” and “down,” making her an adorable and increasingly polite girlie. With consistency and love, she will absolutely flourish. She would thrive in an active home that embraces her fun-loving personality while continuing her training and structure. Brownie has a big spirit, a loving heart, and she’s ready to be someone’s forever best friend. If you’re looking for a confident, playful, dog-friendly, kid-approved companion with both zoomies and snuggly snoozes, Brownie is ready to be the sweetest addition to your family. 🍫🐾💕 Fostered in North Highlands! https://www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet sweet old man Tempo! He is a 10 year old gentle Dobie. He is very affectionate, mellow, easy to walk. He likes to play with toys and hang with his humans, and is fascinated by other dogs. He likely has some sort of neuro condition, as he often turns in circles, but he doesn't let it dampen his spirits... he just wants to live out his golden years with a family who is willing to see past his circling and enjoy him as the positive being that he is. If you are ready to open your heart and your home to this social soul, please ask to meet Tempo Tempo has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. Story
Chipa is a 3 yo M blk/brn doberman foster notes   Chipa would do best with someone experienced in working dogs.  He's high energy  and needs mental & physical stimulation.  Absolutely no cats, kids or small dogs at least at this stage.  He is pretty good with size appropriate female dogs but has a rough play style and does resource guard food and some toys.  He's crate trained, doing better on leash and still learning to pay attention.  He's food motivated, sweet and silly.  Slightly suspicious of strangers and could be destructive left to his own devises.  Seems to like the water so a good candidate for swimming.  I recommend adopters get him into something like scent work, obedience and trick training. or spend time hiking or biking with him ##2574877##

Story
Beautiful NORA is a 5-year-old Doberman mix who has already been failed once... and now she's about to lose her life. She originally entered the shelter as a stray, redeemed by her owner, just to be surrendered for the holidays. Now Nora is sitting in a kennel, confused, terrified, tail tucked, shaking as the barking around her never stops. She is not a bad dog - her former owner said she is good with people she knows, knows basic commands, and is loving and a loyal dog. ##2629071##
