Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application The shelter called us to take Bubby. He is a great little dog but has mobility issues in his back legs.  It doesnt stop him from getting around though.  he goes down steps but then barks to get up the steps cause he just cant do it with his back legs.  He uses them, but then they give out. We had another little one like this so not sure if it was due to an injury or a disc problem.  He is sweet as can be and just a good boy.  He is probably a senior at 9 or so.  Happy, loves to eat, barks to go outside or get off of things he cant jump down from.  Smart Smart boy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2025, 1:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chloe is a pretty girl who is looking for a new home. Chloe is now in a NJ foster home. Chloe was adopted from our partner rescue in Louisiana 3 years ago but returned recently due to a new boyfriend who didn't care for Chloe. Chloe is a nice and well behaved girl who never deserved to be dumped. She is housebroken and crate trained and also dog friendly. Chloe is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. She does have dry eye and is on drops daily. Her adoption fee is $300.    Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Story
Meet Peaches – Your New Pocket-Sized Bestie! Looking for a little love bug to brighten your days? Meet Peaches, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a heart full of sweetness and a tail that never stops wagging! At just 7 pounds, she’s the perfect pint-sized pup…easy to cuddle, easy to carry, and impossible not to fall in love with! We found Peaches roaming the streets of Staten Island, scared and anxious. After a lively chase, one of our volunteers was able to capture her. She was very thin with terrible allergies and appeared to be neglected. In spite of posting to every site, no one has come forward, so we believe this tiny baby was intentionally dumped. Peaches is a total people-pup who adores human attention. She likes other calm dogs and she is getting used to cats. Her dream home? One with another friendly dog to keep her company, or a human who works from home, because she’s working through some separation anxiety and loves to be near her pack. This playful girl is always ready for a game of fetch, and loves to do zoomies! She has the kind of cheerful, happy energy that will make you smile on even your toughest days. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and playful pup who’s ready to be your sidekick 24/7, Peaches is your girl. She’s got sweetness in her soul and plenty of love to give- now all she needs is a forever home to call her own. Story
Hi! I'm Petra (or Sophie). My foster mommy is getting to know me more but for now I can tell you that I've had a rough life, I wasn't loved my first 8 years of life, I was used instead :( and now I'm starting to know what living is. In only 2 weeks my foster mom has fallen in love with me, so much that she wishes she could keep me. She cuddles with me every night and takes me out every day even though I get a little scared... she says I'm making progress and she knows I'll live a very nice loving life. She also has a 14.5 year old dog, I try to socialize with her but she still doesn't get used to me sadly but I know how to give her the space she wants and I respect it. I can get along with your dog (if you have one) too!At first when I came I was peeing in the house and I know my foster mom was a little stressed but in just a few days I started doing all my necessities outside...  still have little accidents here and there but not everyday. I'm a quick learner, I promise. I've been making my foster mom very proud and I know I could make you proud also. I'll also make sure you're safe when you're showering... very important! Story
Curacao is a quiet, gentle soul who’s just now discovering the world. At 9 years old, this Shih Tzu girl is a breeder surrender who spent her life in a crate. Because of that, everything is new to her: the smell of grass, the feel of a comfy bed, and the joy of a walk.  She is curious about everything, stopping often on walks to take it all in. She does not like strong noises and get very scared outside near traffic. She rides quietly in the car and the subway (not in a closed off carrier, but in a handbag. Carriers likely trigger her cage trauma).  Curacao is low-shedding and very quiet — she rarely barks unless left completely alone. She is not fully house-trained yet, but she’s making lots of progress. She will need someone patient, present, and kind to help her continue learning what it means to be a dog in a loving home. Because of her age and breed, her joints are quite weak. She has been having some trouble with her back legs, likely due to luxating patella—her kneecap slipping in and out of place, but supplements will make her life better. This sweet girl sleeps best when someone is nearby. She loves to keep you in sight. She doesn’t ask for much — just a calm space, a warm bed, and a human who will help her feel safe. She’s not a lap dog or cuddly, but she’ll be right beside you, always.  Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2420615##
