Story
Meet our sweet girl Dallas, Dallas was found dumped on the side of her road with her littermates. Her mom was dumped with her but sadly had been hit by a car and did not make it so the litter was left to fend for themselves. Luckily a good Samaritan found them, but they ended up in a shelter. No place for these puppies so rescue was found for them. At first, she was so scared of people, but she loves kisses and pets from her foster family. She will sit for a treat and is down for lots of belly rubs. She's doing great with house training. She knows and responds to 'crate-up'. She is pad trained and will go to the door to go outside. She loves to play with toys and dog chews.... she is intelligent, loyal, eager to please, loves her people, and easy to train. She'll make quick friends with anyone who’ll give her a belly rub. So, if you’re looking for a furry companion who will love you unconditionally and keep you on your toes, Dallas might be the one for you. Dallas would do great in a home with another dog to help her feel secure and someone she can play with. Older children would be okay, but we would prefer a home with no young children as everyone in the home needs to understand boundaries with puppies. We hope you'll give her a chance. Applications are being accepted. #toadvocate #toeducate #tosave

Story
Violet was found by a civilian after she was hit by a car and brought to Kane County Animal Control. She had several open wounds, gashes, cracked teeth and her eyes struggled to open. KCAC did an amazing job providing her with needed medical care. We pulled her to give her some additional medical support and hopefully some TLC! We really hoped we could find her a foster home, so she wouldn't have to spend her time healing in a loud, over stimulating shelter. As luck would have it, a kind person stepped up to foster her, so she could have a cozy place to rest and recoup! Despite her recent rough patch, this cutie is SUPER loving and is ready to give you all her affection! She's a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. She LOVES snuggles, her people, car rides, looking for squirrels, walks, and toys! Right now, men make her quite nervous, they're a bit scary! We don't have a history of her living with dogs, but our adoption team could help set you up for success on how to do a meet and greet if you have a dog at home! Ready to make Violet's Christmas wish come true and be her new, loving family?! Just email our adoption team at info@ahconnects (please provide your name and phone number), or call 847-697-2880 x: 0 to set up a time to meet her, or to get more information!

Story
Introducing Dan, affectionately known as "Dan the man with a plan." This sweet puppy has a heart as big as his curiosity, though he can be cautious when encountering new things. Dan looks to his family for guidance and strength, finding comfort in their reassuring presence. Beneath his initial wariness lies a gentle soul yearning for love and belonging. Dan's dream is simple yet profound: to have a loving family to call his own, where he can feel safe and cherished. Despite his cautious nature, Dan has a playful side that emerges in delightful, silly moments. Whether he's gleefully tossing around a squeaky toy or charmingly demanding more food from his empty bowl, Dan's antics never fail to bring a smile to those around him. With his endearing mix of caution and playfulness, Dan embodies the innocence and hope of a puppy eagerly awaiting the warmth and security of a forever home. I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Meet Beau, a 3-year-old male American Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart as sweet as can be. This handsome boy has the most adorable small ears and a charmingly wrinkly forehead. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion who will bring joy and smiles to your life, Beau could be the perfect addition to your family. Give this wonderful dog the loving home he deserves. Beau is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. Story
Chipper is a 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier who weighs 43 pounds. Upon arriving at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, Chipper tested positive for Heartworm. Chipper is deaf, so it will be crucial to practice hand signals as verbal communication is not ideal. We recommend checking out the website Deaf Dogs Rock, which is a great resource for learning how to train a deaf dog. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Chipper to undergo treatments and recover is with a loving, permanent family. If you choose to adopt Chipper, the clinic staff will support you every step of the way, answering questions and offering guidance. The Heartworm treatment process generally takes three months, followed by a follow-up test six months after treatment begins. The process involves some simple at-home steps to keep Chipper safe while he recovers. The Heartworm treatment has a high success rate, and the staff anticipates that Chipper will fully recover. Heartworm is only transmitted between animals via mosquitoes. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website, www.hoofwoofmeow.org - not through a 3rd party service.**   Luke has it all - friendly personality, good looks, excellent walking/jogging buddy, cuddle bug and free kisses! What he doesn't have is a loving family to call is own. Please help change that situation. Luke is a 1-year-old, 50 lb. social butterfly, who melts hearts wherever he goes. He is a smart pup, fast learner and treat motivated. Luke walks great on a leash, potty-trained, crate-trained and dog-friendly. He's non-reactive to barking dogs when out walking on a leash. Luke is a possible Boxer/Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix. We do not DNA test. Luke is a natural-born people and dog lover. He jumps in excitement (something he's working on), so children should be 10+ years of age in the household. He sleeps through the night, usually on his back and snoring in his crate. Luke would benefit from an active family who has a fenced-in-yard and committed to continue his training and taking him on dog-friendly adventures. He wants to be in on the action during the day, so minimal crate time during the day would be a better fit. Luke has done great being out of the crate during the day. Whether it's playtime in his foster’s fenced in backyard or cuddles on the couch, Luke is always ready to spread happiness and joy to everyone he meets. Get ready to fall head over heels for this adorable pup! Estimated birth date 5/29/2023. Luke’s adoption fee is $400 - which includes core vaccinations (age appropriate), microchip & spay/neuter at one of our contracted vets (completed)   *Hoof Woof & Meow Animal Rescue presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications.
