Story
Meet our sweet girl Dallas, Dallas was found dumped on the side of her road with her littermates. Her mom was dumped with her but sadly had been hit by a car and did not make it so the litter was left to fend for themselves. Luckily a good Samaritan found them, but they ended up in a shelter. No place for these puppies so rescue was found for them. At first, she was so scared of people, but she loves kisses and pets from her foster family. She will sit for a treat and is down for lots of belly rubs. She's doing great with house training. She knows and responds to 'crate-up'. She is pad trained and will go to the door to go outside. She loves to play with toys and dog chews.... she is intelligent, loyal, eager to please, loves her people, and easy to train. She'll make quick friends with anyone who’ll give her a belly rub. So, if you’re looking for a furry companion who will love you unconditionally and keep you on your toes, Dallas might be the one for you. Dallas would do great in a home with another dog to help her feel secure and someone she can play with. Older children would be okay, but we would prefer a home with no young children as everyone in the home needs to understand boundaries with puppies. We hope you'll give her a chance. Applications are being accepted. #toadvocate #toeducate #tosave

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Welcome Hannah!  This 2 year old, 50 lb pitbull mix has raised her puppies (our EE litter) and is ready to find her very own forever home!   Hannah is housebroken and crate trained, does well on a leash and in the car.  She loves to be outside in the yard, go for walks and also just enjoys hanging out with her humans and watching tv on the couch.  Hannah has proven to do well with other dogs and kids, but has not been exposed to cats at this point.  She would love a yard to run around in.  This girl would do best in a single family home, so no apartments or condos please. Hannah’s foster mom says she is a smart, motivated and loving girl.     Hannah is heartworm positive and will require heartworm treatment (provided by the rescue) so potential adopters should be within a 50 mile radius of Elgin.   Any potential adopters will speak to a member of our medical team prior to any meet and greet to fully understand what Hannah’s treatment will entail.  Hannah is also not yet spayed, however she will be (rescue cost) once her heartworm treatment is completed.  Potential adopters should be willing to continue working on training with Hannah so she continues to be a great canine citizen. Hannah’s adoption fee is $350 (Includes microchip and age appropriate vaccines) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Despite his age, Sampson has a spirited personality and a zest for life that is truly infectious. While he may struggle with overarousal and anxiety during the first few days in a new environment, he quickly settles down and adapts well. One of Sampson's favorite ways to relax and find comfort is through belly rubs. This gentle giant absolutely adores the affectionate touch of a caring hand and will gladly soak up all the love and attention you can give. His sweet disposition shines through, and he is known for his loving nature and big heart. Sampson is a pretty good walker and doesn't get bothered by too much. Going for strolls with him will not only provide him with physical exercise but also help him feel more comfortable and confident in his surroundings. With a bit of guidance and positive reinforcement, Sampson will surely become an excellent walking companion, enjoying the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. Story
Violet was found by a civilian after she was hit by a car and brought to Kane County Animal Control. She had several open wounds, gashes, cracked teeth and her eyes struggled to open. KCAC did an amazing job providing her with needed medical care. We pulled her to give her some additional medical support and hopefully some TLC! We really hoped we could find her a foster home, so she wouldn't have to spend her time healing in a loud, over stimulating shelter. As luck would have it, a kind person stepped up to foster her, so she could have a cozy place to rest and recoup! Despite her recent rough patch, this cutie is SUPER loving and is ready to give you all her affection! She's a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. She LOVES snuggles, her people, car rides, looking for squirrels, walks, and toys! Right now, men make her quite nervous, they're a bit scary! We don't have a history of her living with dogs, but our adoption team could help set you up for success on how to do a meet and greet if you have a dog at home! Ready to make Violet's Christmas wish come true and be her new, loving family?! Just email our adoption team at info@ahconnects (please provide your name and phone number), or call 847-697-2880 x: 0 to set up a time to meet her, or to get more information!

Meet Oats! This boy is a happy-go-lucky pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. With his mixed breed background, he's a unique blend of charm and personality. Oats has a sleek coat and expressive eyes that will melt your heart. Oats is the epitome of a puppy - playful, curious, and full of energy. He loves nothing more than bounding around, chasing toys, and engaging in fun games with his human and furry friends alike. Oats is also learning important manners like using toys for play and is eager to please, making him a joy to train. Oats adores people of all ages but would do best with older kiddos until he gets out of his teething phase! He also gets along famously with other dogs. His friendly and sociable nature makes him a great candidate for a household with other pups or an active family looking for a furry companion to join in their adventures. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website, www.hoofwoofmeow.org - not through a 3rd party service.**   Luke is a 45 lb. social butterfly, who melts hearts wherever he goes. He is a smart pup and fast learner while working with a professional dog trainer. Luke walks great on a leash, potty-trained, crate-trained and dog-friendly. He would do well as the only resident dog or with other pups in the household. Luke is a natural-born people and dog lover. He jumps in excitement (something he's working on), so children should be 9+ years of age, if any, in the household. He sleeps through the night, usually on his back and snoring in his crate. Luke would benefit from an active family who has a fenced-in-yard and committed to continue his training and taking him on dog-friendly adventures. He wants to be in on the action during the day, so minimal crate time during the day would be a better fit. Whether it's playtime in his foster’s fenced in backyard or cuddles on the couch, Luke is always ready to spread happiness and joy to everyone he meets. Get ready to fall head over heels for this adorable pup! Estimated birth date 5/29/2023. Luke’s adoption fee is $400 - which includes core vaccinations (age appropriate), microchip & spay/neuter at one of our contracted vets (completed)   *Hoof Woof & Meow Animal Rescue presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications.
