Story
Smart, spirited, and full of heart - Levi Ahoy is a handsome cattle dog mix looking for his perfect match!   Levi is the kind of dog who wins you over with his quick mind and big, expressive eyes. He’s eager to learn, super responsive to training, and loves having a job to do. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, brain games, or a good game of fetch, Levi will be right there beside you, tail wagging and ready to go.   Levi loves his people deeply, but can feel stressed if he’s cornered or if his boundaries aren’t respected. He thrives in a calm, understanding home where he’s given space to warm up at his own pace. For that reason, he’s looking for an adult-only home (no young kids, please). The great news is, Levi is wonderful about communicating when he’s uncomfortable and is easily called away or redirected. He really wants to get it right and listens beautifully once he trusts you.   He’s likely housebroken, enjoys being outdoors, and has plenty of energy for walks, hikes, or backyard zoomies. He’s also got a sensitive side. Levi can be a bit picky with food, but when it comes to playtime and affection, he’s all in.   Levi Ahoy is ready to find someone who appreciates his smarts, respects his space, and loves him for the amazing, loyal companion he is. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and fill your life with adventure, Levi might just be your guy. Story
Meet Sugar Plum: All Around Great Dog!  This is Sugar Plum! Her smile is genuine, and this happy girl is always smiling!    Sugar Plum is approximately 1.5 years old and is a perfect size at roughly 45 pounds. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows many basic commands including “sit”, “down”, and “stay”.  You would never know by her friendly outgoing and happy demeanor that Sugar Plum had a rough start in life.  As a puppy she was hit by a car, left untreated and eventually had one leg amputated. Sugar Plum bounced back beautifully, and her disposition is still sweeter and happier than just about any dog you’ll ever meet.  Because of the amputation Sugar Plum is a tripod, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm because it doesn’t slow her down one bit!  She doesn’t notice it, and neither will you when you meet her. She is a wonderful role model for people to see! Sugar Plum would fit right in with an active lifestyle and someone that will appreciate her fun spirit and loving companionship. She does great with people, kids and other dogs, but we do think her youthful puppy energy might be a bit much for smaller children. If you think Sugar Plum might be a good fit for you or you and your family, please put in an application for her. This sweet, spunky girl has so much love to give and is ready to bring sunshine, snuggles, and tail wags into the life of a lucky adopter.   * To see more pictures of Sugar Plum, copy and paste this link into your browser: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCne7V.     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Meet Betty White — no, not that Betty White… but just as unforgettable 🤍 Betty White’s story began in a way no puppy ever deserves. On 11/14/2025, she was found abandoned in a cardboard box in a gas station parking lot—just 4 pounds of the fluffiest white fluff you’ve ever seen, only four weeks old, sick with worms and parvo, and left behind like she didn’t matter. But Betty White is a fighter. The first week was touch and go, but she pushed through. As she grew stronger, hope grew too. With the holidays approaching, we started sharing her story, and families quickly expressed interest. She was going to be someone’s Christmas miracle. Then the bomb dropped. Due to irresponsible breeding, Betty White is a deaf double merle. Instead of giving up on her, we leaned in harder. Today, Betty White is healthy, thriving, and weighs 14 pounds at approximately 11 weeks old. She’s already working on leash walking, crate training, and learning sign language—and she’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to connect. Betty White doesn’t see herself as “special needs.” She sees herself as a puppy who wants to love, learn, and belong. She will need a home that understands her needs and can give her the time, patience, and hands-on guidance she deserves. A home where she isn’t crated for long workdays, where she can be safely supervised, enriched, and included. A home that sees her not for her limitations—but for her incredible potential. She is safe and happy where she is now, but we know she would truly thrive in a home where she can be someone’s priority. If you—or someone you know—has room in their heart and home to fall deeply in love with a very special girl, Betty White is waiting.

Story
Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon. This well rounded lovebug will make an amazing addition to one lucky family! Interested in adopting?
