Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon. Very easy, attentive, well trained. Tyson is a great companion to anyone looking for a more calm and relaxed dog. He loves to be snuggled and lay next to you on the couch. He still has a good bit of energy to go and play outside. He is super friendly with other dogs and people. Tyson is a very loving dog that needs a home that will show him the same amount of love. Tyson is very smart, and is very attentive to his owners commands. He responds to come, sit, lay, shake. He has a very calm temper. He may be 10 but he's very healthy and has a ton of life left, he just won't overwhelm you with it. He's the perfect speed. Age: 10 years WT: 48lbs. On 11/14/2025, she was found abandoned in a cardboard box in a gas station parking lot—just 4 pounds of the fluffiest white fluff you’ve ever seen, only four weeks old, sick with worms and parvo, and left behind like she didn’t matter. But Betty White is a fighter. The first week was touch and go, but she pushed through. As she grew stronger, hope grew too. With the holidays approaching, we started sharing her story, and families quickly expressed interest. She was going to be someone’s Christmas miracle. Then the bomb dropped. Due to irresponsible breeding, Betty White is a deaf double merle. Instead of giving up on her, we leaned in harder. Today, Betty White is healthy, thriving, and weighs 14 pounds at approximately 11 weeks old. She’s already working on leash walking, crate training, and learning sign language—and she’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to connect. Betty White doesn’t see herself as “special needs.” She sees herself as a puppy who wants to love, learn, and belong. She will need a home that understands her needs and can give her the time, patience, and hands-on guidance she deserves. Had her 3 to 5 years from a pup. She's is loyal, affectionate, good with the children and other dog on the home. However, she has taken to nipping, other people, adults , and children. She has not been trained well or disciplined, and mother of the household is with 2 young children is exhausted, and not getting naps. The dog regularly barks and is disturbing the neighbors and family members. Family doesn't want to come visit because of the stress.

We adopted Aria from the Humane Society and she has been a great dog. We invested a lot of money into e collar training which has stuck with her. Unfortunately, she is a runner and my kids cannot open the door without her darting through. She also loves eating socks. She passes most of them but has needed some help from the vet through IV fluids to pass some as well. She has a strong herding instinct and while she is good with the kids, she does try to herd them when they're playing. She is wonderful on hikes and loves running outside. She has a few toys she's obsessed with and we love to play with her. She is crate trained and is used to spending some time in the crate while we're gone.
