Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon. This well rounded lovebug will make an amazing addition to one lucky family! Interested in adopting? Story
Queenie is a nine-month-old, 40-pound cattle dog mix. This little low rider was the only one left at the shelter when time was up, so we just took her too, what’s one more? Queenie was terrified at first and had to be carried from the shelter, but a foster took her after she was vetted. She is doing great now, loves the foster dogs and kids, and seems relaxed, as if she knows she is safe. If you would like to foster or adopt this cute girl, please submit an application. ##2666029##

Hi… I’m Dean. 🎾🤎 For the last 3 months, my whole world has been a boarding kennel. Every morning I wake up hoping today is the day someone finally comes for me… but every night I go back to sleep alone. The people here say I’m one of the happiest boys they’ve ever met. I LOVE toys. I’m completely obsessed with playing fetch (seriously… I could do it for HOURS 😂). Toss me a ball and I light right up. It’s my favorite thing in the world… besides maybe getting love from humans. I’m only around 1-2 years old, 45 lbs, dog friendly, people friendly, food motivated, super trainable, and the perfect smaller size. I’ve got so much life and joy in me, but it’s hard spending your young years watching life happen from behind kennel walls. I dream about simple things: A couch. A backyard. A toy basket with squeaky toys. A person who says “good morning, Dean.” A home where I finally belong. I’m fully vetted and currently on slow-kill treatment for heartworm, and the rescue will guide my adopter through everything. What I really need now is someone willing to give me a chance.
