Story
Onyx is a handsome Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler that was born in April 2020. A medium-sized dog, he weighs less than thirty pounds. He gets along well with most dogs. Onyx is unfamiliar with kitties but we can easily test that for you. Onyx is housetrained. A home with a large fenced in backyard would be ideal for him. He would fit best with an adult only household.Onyx is a great dog for those experienced with the breed. Blue Heelers need daily exercise and plenty of stimulation. Highly intelligent, they learn new skills quickly. While devoted to their families, however, they can be leery of strangers. Slow introductions are best when introducing extended family and friends. Onyx is looking for a friend that will take him on walks and play games with him. If you enjoy an active lifestyle, this is your dog! Apply for Onyx today and come see him!To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Look at this stunning hunk of love! This is Curtis. Curtis made this grand decision to explore the world and see if anything or anyone could welcome him into to their home as their own but the expedition was cut short and he was kindly escorted to the shelter on 5/24. Sadly, no one has come to reclaim this precious baby so Curtis is on a quick search for a home that will give him a nice, soft bed, toys, patience, treats and a lot of fun and games to play with you and the family. His breed is an active one so giving him activities to keep him stimulated and focused will keep him from wanting to explore the world all alone. But you have to be the one to help him with this. Can you be that person and keep him safe and sound so he doesn't return to the shelter? We know Curtis is hoping for that and we are too! He is an adorable little boy who is super sweet, calm and playful. He is also very obedient. Curtis is also super smart as he knows basic commands such as sit when asked. He may know more and would love for you to teach him! If you are looking for a companion for your pup, bring your pup and see if this baby is a match for your baby! Curtis is current on vaccines, neutered and will be micro chipped upon his adoption. He is 2 years old and weighs 49lbs. He would love to keep you on your toes so come visit him and get to know him better. Curtis has also tested negative for heart worms which is even better news for him! He will be waiting for you in Run 801. Curtis's ID is 645075. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.

Story
Name: Koda (aka Dot) Nicknames - Koda Nick or Koda BearBreed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Chow ChowSex/Age/Weight: Female/2.5 years old/55 lbs.Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention, dewormed, flea/tick/parasite-free, and microchipped House/Crate Trained: Yes/Yes. Koda loves her crate! When it comes to nap time or settling in for the evening Koda goes right in for a snooze.Dogs/Cats/Children: Yes/No/Yes. Koda does very well with medium to large sized dogs and has two furry siblings she loves to wrestle with. She is not comfortable with smaller dogs and cats so it is best that she be the one and only or have a medium to large size dog to hang out with. She loves children of all ages especially when she can cuddle up with them and get belly rubs.Training: Koda is working on her commands and manners. She knows sit, down, and paw, and walks great on a leash. She will need someone to continue to train her so she can be the best girl for you!Working on: Koda is quite the snuggle bunny and sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. She is learning that you can cuddle with your humans without sitting on their lap. She can be vocal about things she wants - dinner, attention, etc., She is an American Idol in the making and is in the process of learning to sing silently and will need someone to continue teaching her it is okay to sing to yourself. Koda has trust issues when it comes to dinner time and prefers to enjoy her meal in her crate. Her foster family is slowly introducing her to others at meal time. Things I like: People! She loves to be around her humans. Snuggling up with them is one of her favorite pastimes. When she is not cuddling up, you will find her playing and running around in the backyard with her siblings or having fun time in the water.Things I don’t like: Being alone or ignored for long periods of time. Koda would love someone who works from home or who is only gone from home for short periods of time. As much as she loves playing in the water, bath time is not her favorite. She doesn’t understand it helps keep her beautiful coat from shedding so much. She will need a daily brushing to help with her shedding as well. Ideal home: Koda would do best where she can get lots of exercise, play time, and attention. A family who has time to be committed to her would be best, preferably with a backyard where she she could hang out with a furry sibling (medium to large sized dogs only). If you are interested in giving me a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Story
Hector is 10 years old, walks great on a leash and really enjoys attention. He does need to be the only dog in the house. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
