Story
COURTESY POST:  Maggie is a sweet dog who loves spending her days lounging around or going for short walks. She is a laid back girl who is happy to lay out back or post up on a couch in the sunlight all day long. Maggie is quite the hunter and mouser so if you have a mouse issue and are not interested in owning a cat Maggie, will handle the mice for you.   She walks perfectly on a leash and says hi well to other dogs. She is however dog selective within her own house and would do best with a confident dog or another dog who is also laid back.   Maggie is a people dog. She loves every person she meets and knows no strangers. She is fully house broken and has no interest in chewing anything up.   She is 8 and she is truly a mixed breed. We have no idea mix of what, but we have been told by the vet and trainer she is likely a cattle dog mixed with a hound.   If you are interested in Maggie please contact Haley at 6103315394 (tel:6103315394) .March 6, 2025, 10:24 am

Story
This handsome red heeler mix puppy is called Ernie and he and his brother Bert and their mom were found in a barn where they had been raised by their stray mother. Their mother was barely hanging on to life. The happy ending to her story is she is living with a wonderful family now and is loved and Ernie is looking for a wonderful family too raise him, love him, and bring his own special joy to. Ernie is a really delightful and well adjusted 6-month-old puppy that weighs 26 lb. He is a friendly little guy that enjoys meeting people and loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you. His innocence and love for life is contagious. He craves being with people that like him and speak kind words to him. He will crawl in your lap and be your best little buddy. His foster mom who raised he and his brother Bert says that he has the best temperament and personality. Recently this little guy went to a yoga class at the YMCA and had so much fun. It was a totally new and unique environment and he handled it with great poise and embraced all of the Zen vibes going on. Ernie is housebroken, crate trained, loves being around other cats and dogs alike and adores children. There isn't a living creature on this earth that he doesn't like. He is learning quite well,  how to walk on a leash and he rides in a car like a pro. He would be a great dog to take for hikes, long walks, outdoor events and adventures, and of course he would be a hit at any family reunions. Ernie is ready to call a family and their home his very own. If you are interested in making Ernie your perfect little sidekick in life, Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 7, 2025, 12:30 pm

Story
Meet Maggie May – A Sweet, Independent Soul Looking for a Fresh Start At 7 years young, Maggie May is a beautiful Heeler mix with a wise heart, gentle eyes, and a nose that’s always ready for a good sniff. Originally adopted from a shelter after likely raising more than her fair share of litters, Maggie is now looking for a better fit — a home that truly understands her needs and respects her boundaries. Maggie is the kind of dog who values connection but also independence. She loves pets and scratches, but on her terms — when she’s had enough, she’ll politely walk away like the classy lady she is. She’s not clingy or overly needy, but when she trusts you, her quiet loyalty speaks volumes. She loves her walks and takes her time exploring the world through her nose, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a good stroll and doesn’t mind stopping to smell the roses (or fire hydrants). On walks, Maggie is well-mannered, and she’s been calm and friendly around children, happily accepting gentle pets without fuss. She’s not particularly social with other dogs, and larger dogs can make her nervous — she may bark at them, but it’s more about insecurity than aggression. Maggie would do best as the only pet in a calm household where she doesn’t feel the pressure to mingle with other animals. Currently weighing 33.8 pounds (as of 4/28/25), she’s a healthy girl with up-to-date vaccinations and a lot of life left to live. What she needs now is a younger, patient, and understanding person — someone who sees her not as a project, but as a partner. She’s eager for someone who will challenge her, gently train her, and most importantly, love her for who she is. Maggie May isn’t looking for chaos — just a peaceful home filled with kindness, structure, and someone who believes in second chances. If you think Maggie might be your perfect match, reach out to learn more. She’s ready to trade in uncertainty for unconditional love — could that be with you?   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 7, 2025, 11:29 pm

Story
Alfie is just the sweetest boy who is only 10 months old, weighs 48 pounds and has overcome so much in his young life.  This boy has overcome such a deep shyness with meeting new people and his foster mom has helped him learn confidence and the acceptance of affection from people.   He is a kind and sweet dog that is a medium energy, a kind spirit and good with other creatures in his life.  He is good with cats, dogs and just needs a slow introduction with new people. He loves his walks on the leash in the neighborhood and they have helped him build such a confidence that he never had when he first came to Critter Cavalry Rescue.  He is a Blue Heeler mix and we think he is oh so handsome.  Alfie is going to be a special rescue dog for someone.  Someone with patience and the desire to see a dog blossom every day in to a radiant soul that will make you the center of his universe and love.  If you would like to consider this boy please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 23, 2025, 11:28 am
