She's adorable! She's smart! She plays! 100% puppy!! Miss Hazelnut (Hazel for short) is a bundle of fun! She is very active, then crashes and naps. Hazel has already learned how to use a dog door and puts herself in her crate for naps. She is learning about going outside to go potty. She is very affectionate and companionable, but not good for children under 8. She plays a little on the rough side but is learning to not "mouth" so much. Hazelnut learns very quickly and is working on leash training now. She loves to play and would do best in a home with another young dog.

Lucy came to us as an owner surrender. Sadly, she was never spayed and kept having litter after litter.  We agreed to take the puppies as long as they gave us Lucy as well. We wanted her to finally have a home where she could be a cherished pet. Lucy is an extremely sweet and happy girl. She gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and she adores children. She is in great shape! Our vet thought she was only 3 years old because her teeth are pearly white. However,  Lucy is 9 years young We think she would be a fabulous companion to a lucky human.  ##1622253##

Canaan is a 2 yr (dob: 10/16/21) old Heeler/pyranees mix. Not a big dog at only 50 lbs Original owner rehomed to a family friend at around two months old. New owners did not complete his vetting so we had it done. He was neutered and current on vaccines. He is now microchipped and his heartworm test was negative. He is good with other dogs, kids, teenagers and adults. He has to learn to trust at first. Housebroken, crate trained. Great temperament. Very loving and playful dog. He would be a great walking Buddy or jogging partner. Sweet and smart, ready to join your family. His adoption fee is $50, which includes all his vetting (vaccinations, neuter, microchip, etc). This precious pooch is Ginger, listed as an Australian Cattle Dog picked up by one of our officers, along with three siblings on 2/19. Ginger weighs 18 pounds and is 5 months old. She is kenneled with one of her sisters. She has the most beautiful soulful brown eyes and the sweetest disposition and nature imaginable. She is a well-behaved girl, with a mellow personality. She loves treats and takes them gently. Ginger is an amiable girl, and very happily allowed me to pet and love on her. She walks fine on a leash, but when led past dogs that were barking at her she seemed intimidated. All of the siblings are so precious to interact with that they stole my heart! Ginger would make a terrific pet for some fortunate person or family. She will need daily playtime, exercise, and enrichment, as well as the teaching of some commands. She would love to live inside with her people and to be in important part of the family circle. As of 3/12/24 Ginger is staying in a foster home that has 2 small dogs, cats and chickens. She is doing well with respecting their space. If you would like to meet her please contact the shelter to arrange a meet n greet.

Archer is a two year old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix. He was adopted from the Mesquite Animal Shelter, and is currently up to date on all his shots/vaccinations. I had a work-from-home job lined up that unfortunately fell through. I had to find another job, which resulted in me working at a distribution warehouse with 12-hour shifts. He spends most of the time in the crate and not enough time out of it. Archer is housebroken and let's you know when he needs to go outside. For the short time I've had him not once has he had an accident inside my home. Does fine with other dogs, though it may be preferable to have dogs around his size as he can get a little rowdy playing. Also older kids would be ideal due to how rowdy he can get. He will do best in a home without cats as there have been a few instances where he's wanted to chase some local strays when taking him out for walks. Also a yard is highly recommended, but does fine in an apartment
