Story
This could very well be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but this great pup needs a better home. Anya is a sweet girl, and she deserves a home where she can really shine. Anya is almost three and still an energetic and very lovable cattle dog mix and would be a lap dog if she could. Anya will always be by your side and would make a very good sidekick. She runs like the wind and jumps like a deer, and I laugh every time I see her dart through the yard. She will need a space where she can stretch her little legs, and smell everything there is to smell. She loves her toys, blankets, balls, and sticks and will play fetch with anything you throw. Why are we in this place? My older female dog and Anya do not get along and it’s just getting worse. We have worked with trainers and I have accepted that I cannot provide the level of activity that she needs, and it is clear that finding Anya a new home is the only answer left. I need to know that she will be safe, happy and loved.

Story
HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

Story
Say hello to Rudy! A playful and bouncy 1-2 year old, 70lb Lab/Cattle dog mix. He is ready to find his forever home. Rudy can be shy at first, but warms up quickly and is super loving and playful. He would make a great companion for a family that is active and loves to play with him in their backyard. Rudy is smart and would benefit from a family that will continue his basic obedience for bond building and confidence. Rudy can be selective/reactive with other dogs. He would do best as the only dog in the home, but with proper introductions could possibly do ok with a laid back female of similar/larger size. No small dogs or cats. He would also do best with a home that has a fenced yard for him to run and play, but could do okay with proper exercise in a townhome/condo. Rudy is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Foster or forever home needed! Meet Bandit, a 60 lb, 15-month-old, male Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is a very happy, friendly, intelligent boy. He is playful and has lots of energy and LOVES to play with balls. He knows basic commands and he would make a wonderful running partner and loyal companion. Bandit would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around in. Since he can be jumpy, he will need to be placed in a home with kids over 10 years old. He is not tested with cats. Bandit is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption, up-to-date with vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $450

Story
Meet Luna! She is a silly, 2-year-old, 30 lb, Queensland Heeler Mix who LOVES butt scratches. She came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. She has a good temperament, knows some basic commands and seems to be good with other dogs. Luna would love an active home where she will be mentally and physically stimulated. She can be a little nervous at this time, so we are recommending a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood (no apartment or city life for her) with adults only at this time. She has not been tested with cats. She is up to date on vaccinations and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Profile: Alfie is an estimated 1-year-old, 40-45 lb neutered male Lab Red Heeler mix that joined us from Texas on 9/22. This fun and athletic boy has a new lease on life after barely escaping the Freer shelter, where he ended up after his owner moved to an apartment and couldn't take him along. He has been fostered with one of our rescue partners who describes him as smart and energetic. We are told he is always a smiling, happy boy, loves to walk on leash, and would do great on hikes. He has not been evaluated with cats or kids. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Alfie has come such a long way and is looking for dedicated experienced leadership to help him continue to be his best. He is high energy and needs plenty of daily exercise, but he can also entertain himself playing with a rubber ball for hours, and loves to cuddle and give kisses. He's progressing well with his crate training, and he is doing amazing on his leash with a prong! Dog-respectful kids 13+ will be considered. This boy needs a family that will give him strong leadership and help him continue to become the best buddy ever. No first-time dog owners for Alfie, and breed experience is a plus. He will do fine as the only dog, or with a patient canine companion. Alfie is a good boy who wants to do his best for you. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to the Freer shelter by an owner who moved to an apartment. He was transferred from Freer Animal Shelter in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 9/22. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.June 6, 2023, 2:16 am

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Buford - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! I will be 'Walking Tall' when my dream of a family comes to be! As being named after Buford Pusser a legendary figure holding the title of youngest sheriff in Tennessee history. I'm up for keeping my family safe also. I'll offer up my tummy for cherished belly rubs distracting anyone so you can make a quick getaway!!:) At only around 10 months I am very obedient and treat motivated to learn so much! I should stay around my 63lbs (depending on treat intake!!) and make a great size to share life adventures with. That makes lots of me for you to love and I give back tenfold!!!! I know some basic commands, walk well on the leash, am food motivated, friendly and sweet natured that will make a great family addition. Whether you like to go on neighborhood strolls, camping or hiking, river excursions to cool off when it gets hot, going to the park or day trips in the car, I'm right there with you, happy as a clam at high tide or in my case... a pupper with a loving family. With my gorgeous shiny merle coat, we'll be getting lots of head turns as we walk by. A handsome stud muffin that has is sweet and friendly, playful and obedient. That's a boatload of great personality traits I've got going on. The only thing I don't have yet...is YOU!!

Story
Animal Profile: Meadow is an estimated 4-year-old, 25 lb female red tick heeler (best guess), picked up as a stray on the big island of Hawaii and at the shelter she did well with other dogs and was non-reactive to cats in the cattery (shelter cat test). She is being transferred to DGS to find her forever home on the mainland. Shelter Assessment: Meadow is excited in her kennel, tail wagging and offs good eye contact. She is easy to leash up and not sensitive to handling. She is not reactive to reactive dogs and offers appropriate greetings to friendly dogs on leash. She rides well in the car. In the yard with other dogs she is tentative but social; she is energetic and will need an outlet to run and play. On cat test he was shy and stepped away, and she ignored a pig in the yard so she doesn't appear to have high prey drive. She is praise motivated and did not show behaviors that would be concerning in a home with children. Seattle Foster Update: Meadow is a sweet girl who looks to her human for reassurance and guidance. She is smart and eager to please and would be a great agility dog. While she is a petite gal, she is very much a heeler and someone with breed experience would be a plus -- she has her "person" and will velcro to them. She is still a bit nervous, loud sounds and sudden movements make her wary, so a home outside the city is preferred. She walks well on the leash and we are working on her crate manners as well as her neediness -- some of this is her breed and some is her life experience. She would do fine with another dog that liked to cuddle, but her main focus is her human. She makes lots of eye contact and check ins. She would be ok in a home with dog respectful children 10+ and she passed her cat test. She is going to be someone's best friend for life!! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was transferred from COH Animal Shelter in Hawaii and transferred by Paws Across water, he arrived in Seattle on May 16, 2023.June 6, 2023, 2:16 am

Story
Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 1 year old, 35lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 12. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog. He will need an adopter that will keep him lol physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
