She’s friendly, domesticated, and fully house-trained. She thrives in active environments or outdoor adventures. She’s also friendly with other dogs, so she’ll fit right in with other furry friends or family members! She’s spayed, vaccinated, and prefers IAMS Large Dog Food for digestive health reasons. While she’s wonderful with adults, she’s better suited for a home without children. Please note she does shed, but regular grooming helps manage this. Story
Kobe is a 6-year-old Staffordshire Australian Cattle Dog mix who is fantastic with people and has a heart full of love to give. Fetch is his absolute favorite, and he’ll happily play all day, then curl up on the couch with you for a quiet evening, or maybe some belly scratches. Kobe is dog reactive on leash, and while he can do OK when one on one with familiar dogs, he easily gets overstimulated and needs close supervision. He also has a strong prey drive, and really would like a home where he can be the only animal. He can get a bit anxious if left alone for more than 4-6 hours. He's used to a hybrid work week (2 days a week home alone, with a sitter dropping in), so he’d do best with someone who has a flexible schedule or can arrange for a sitter to check in. Kobe has done nosework and agility for reactive dogs in the past and would be thrilled to continue either of these with a dedicated owner. If you're looking for an active, loving companion, Kobe could be the perfect fit!

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Zip! He is an energetic 1.5-year-old, 36lb Queensland Healer who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Zip is a sweet, playful, rambunctious, and smart dog. He learns incredibly fast, is very treat motivated, and takes treats gently. Zip would love a home that is active and provide him with the exercise he needs. He will also need an adopter that is committed to his basic obedience training and providing him with the mental stimulation he requires as well. He can be quite mouthy so we recommend no small children as he works through this. Zip has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog to a home or he would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. He is very much looking for a job and would love a handler that keeps life interesting for him. Zip has a super soft coat, charming brown eyes, and a great smile! He is more than ready for his forever home! Zip is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Ames is an approximately 1-year-old, 40 lb neutered cattle dog mix that joined us from New Mexico on 12/4/23. He was surrendered by a finder who held him temporarily and reported he was good with dogs and kids. In foster care in Seattle, we have gotten to know his personality. While shy at first, he is an incredibly loyal pup who loves to play tug and fetch when he’s not snoozing the day away. This handsome boy has a playful yet gentle demeanor and is good with other dogs – Ames must have a home with a balanced confident dog sibling to help show him that the world isn’t scary. Ames would benefit from a confident adopter who knows how to help him build his confidence -- coddling his insecurities will only amplify them, so he needs firm upbeat leadership. As soon as he gets comfortable, his friendliness and curiosity know no bounds. Ames is food motivated and a fast learner, picking up on commands like sit, lie down, touch, spin, and shake. He’s a velcro dog filled with endless love for his chosen humans and is ready to share that love with his new family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Roswell, New Mexico.  He arrived on 12/4 and is now available for adoption in the greater Seattle area after evaluation in foster care. October 2, 2024, 9:50 pm

Story
We are in the unfortunate situation that we need to rehome our beautiful dog. Please help us find a great home for him. Cody is 5 years old, Australian retriever/Lab mix, and 75 lbs. He is a very sweet, friendly dog, and loves playing catch- a little too much! We were only supposed to foster him for a year, but our friend moved so could not take him back. We fell in love with Cody, but I am gone 14 hour days, and travel too frequently to give him the stability he deserves. Looking for someone who is retired or works from home (or part-time job), with no small children, and the time to take Cody to dog training classes for his anxiety. He is currently taking a pill with meals to help him with his overzealous love of retrieving balls/toys. He’s a very smart dog, listens and doesn’t pull when walking. Recently started dog training for anxiety/ resource guarding so would love his next family to continue with training. Please come meet him and help us find his forever home ❤️ Thanks!

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
IMMEDIATE FOSTER NEEDED: Meet Fury! He is a 9-year-old, 55 lb Blue Merle AKC registered Australian Shepherd who was surrendered to us as his owner could no longer care for him. Fury loves to be petted, pampered and groomed. He likes playing by himself with soccer balls and plushie toys, tossing and chasing them around. He also loves to lounge in the sunshine! Fury would like to find himself his very own retirement home where he can be an only dog with his own securely fenced yard to relax in during the day, and a cozy kennel at night. He would do best in a home where he can be the only pet, soaking up all the love and attention. He walks well on a leash for the most part but can be leash reactive and he does not care for other male dogs or dogs who get in his face on leash. He would do best in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood. Fury has been gentle with the young child in his previous home under supervision but in typical herding fashion nips at anyone who runs next to him, so it is recommended that he goes to an adult only home or with children over 12. Fury has recently had a dental and is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. As a senior boy, he deserves more than spending his golden years in a commercial kennel and we are looking for a foster family who want to love him and care for him for the rest of his life.
