Story
This could very well be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but this great pup needs a better home. Anya is a sweet girl, and she deserves a home where she can really shine. Anya is almost three and still an energetic and very lovable cattle dog mix and would be a lap dog if she could. Anya will always be by your side and would make a very good sidekick. She runs like the wind and jumps like a deer, and I laugh every time I see her dart through the yard. She will need a space where she can stretch her little legs, and smell everything there is to smell. She loves her toys, blankets, balls, and sticks and will play fetch with anything you throw. Why are we in this place? My older female dog and Anya do not get along and it’s just getting worse. We have worked with trainers and I have accepted that I cannot provide the level of activity that she needs, and it is clear that finding Anya a new home is the only answer left. I need to know that she will be safe, happy and loved.

Story
Birdie is a 4-year old, 60lb cattle dog mix. Birdie came to PNWCDR in July from San Antonio, Texas. Birdie is the mother of our Bird Pup Litter (Quail, Dove, Parrot, Sparrow, Rosie, Lory, Lovebird and Dove) and is now ready for a home of her own! Birdie is a sweet and gentle tempered girl who loves to be with her people. She wants to be part of a family who enjoys adventures and time outside. Whenever there are signs that her humans are getting ready to go outside, she becomes animated and joyful. In new situations, Birdie is a cautious girl who needs time to warm up with people and dogs. She can be timid at first ducking her head to avoid being touched. Once she understands the rhythms and what to expect she begins to trust and becomes a happy and loyal friend. Birdie enjoys hikes, walks, fetch, frisbee, and anything active... especially running! Birdie loves playing with other dogs. She can be hesitant when meeting new dogs, but once she feels safe, she is friendly and ready to play! She generally has a submissive and "puppy-like" playstyle with other dogs. She adapts well to different dog's personalities and can self-entertain when other dogs aren't around. Birdie has done well with children who are calm and respect her space. She may initially be nervous around new children but is curious and interested. She is a family dog at heart. She may shy away from loud voices or fast movements and if things get too intense for her, she will select to take a break in another room. Birdie spends time off leash outside and has selective recall, especially when there are interesting things to explore. She really wants to learn and improve her impulse skills. She is looking for an adopter who is willing to work with her on impulse control and recall skills as well as any confidence building skills, she wants to please. Right now, Birdie is a flight risk off leash in new situations, with patience, trust and training she is capable of being off leash. Birdie is great in a crate and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She loves to go for a ride in the car and is a great traveler. Birdie would prefer a home without cats (however dominant cats would likely keep Birdie in check), chickens, or other small animals. Please note: We do not do DNA testing on our foster dogs. The breed description is our best guess based on the dog’s appearance, mother’s appearance, paperwork, etc. Adoption Process: - Adoption Application - Phone Convo - Meet & Greet - Home Visit - Application Approval - Adoption Fee & Contract Our adoption application is at pnwcdr.org/adopt Curious about fostering? Story
HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

Story
Say hello to Rudy! A playful and bouncy 1-2 year old, 70lb Lab/Cattle dog mix. He is ready to find his forever home. Rudy can be shy at first, but warms up quickly and is super loving and playful. He would make a great companion for a family that is active and loves to play with him in their backyard. Rudy is smart and would benefit from a family that will continue his basic obedience for bond building and confidence. Rudy can be selective/reactive with other dogs. He would do best as the only dog in the home, but with proper introductions could possibly do ok with a laid back female of similar/larger size. No small dogs or cats. He would also do best with a home that has a fenced yard for him to run and play, but could do okay with proper exercise in a townhome/condo. Rudy is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Foster or forever home needed! Meet Bandit, a 60 lb, 15-month-old, male Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is a very happy, friendly, intelligent boy. He is playful and has lots of energy and LOVES to play with balls. He knows basic commands and he would make a wonderful running partner and loyal companion. Bandit would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around in. Since he can be jumpy, he will need to be placed in a home with kids over 10 years old. He is not tested with cats. Bandit is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption, up-to-date with vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $450
