His story is a hard one to tell, but it matters because it explains just how remarkable he truly is. In his previous home, Hank lived with another dog who targeted him. Because Hank is extremely submissive, he never fought back — and instead of being protected, he became the one mistreated. He was kicked, deprived of food, and repeatedly threatened with being shot. Someone in the home couldn’t bear to see it continue and insisted he be taken to the shelter so he could live. That decision saved Hank’s life. What’s incredible is what came next. Hank still loves people. He doesn’t beg loudly for attention — he quietly asks for it. He’ll gently lean into your leg, nuzzle your hand, and stay close just to feel safe near you. Every kindness matters to him, and he receives affection with a gratitude that’s impossible to fake. Hank is: • Extremely gentle and deeply submissive • Obedient and easy to handle • Crate trained and keeps it clean • Affectionate but never pushy • Non-reactive — he walks away instead of escalating • Loyal and deeply bonded to his person With other dogs, Hank is polite and deferential, sometimes to a fault. More dominant dogs may pick on him, and he will simply retreat behind his handler rather than defend himself. Because of this, he would do best with calm or respectful dogs. He is a very happy, friendly, and intelligent boy who learns very quickly. He is also very energetic and playful and would spend ALL DAY playing fetch with his person if he could! Bandit knows some basic commands and would make a wonderful running partner and loyal companion. Bandit would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around and play. He will need to be an only dog where he can get all of the love and attention. Due to how jumpy he can be, we do recommend an adult only home and adopters with good dog handling skills. With a unique blend of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Boxer, and German Shepherd, RJ is a handsome, athletic, and intelligent companion who’s ready to find a home that truly understands him. Originally rescued from a Texas shelter at around 1½ years old, RJ made his way to Washington and spent six months with Forever Home Dog Rescue before being adopted in October 2021. His early life is a mystery, but it’s likely he spent time on the streets as a puppy. Despite his rough start, RJ has grown into a sweet, fiercely loyal dog who bonds deeply with his people. What RJ Loves: Exercise & Adventure: RJ thrives with daily activity—he’s a fantastic running and hiking partner and enjoys fetch and chase (though he might not always bring the ball back!). He has been on many backpacking trips and loves being outside. He does well on long walks with familiar people and dogs. My dog’s name is Luna, she’s 6 years old and will be 7 in February. She’s a very loving and energetic dog. Loves to cuddle, play with toys and play fetch. She’s listens when you tell her to and understands most commands. I got her on craigslist, she came from Yakima WA. In a home I’m looking for someone to give her the utmost care she needs. I don’t advise having another dog or cat around because she has a resource guarding issues and doesn’t like to hear growling or hissing at all. That’s the reason I have to rehome her. The only time she would fight with my other dog would be if a treat was left out mistakenly. They’ve fought 3 other times only over treats. They recently had another fight over a bone and Luna had never bit down before during any other fight, but she did this time and caused my little dog to need stitches. It breaks my heart to have to rehome her, but it’s what’s best for me and my family. She would be a great fit for someone that is suitable for her needs.
