Story
** Currently fostered in Houston Texas, but available for adoption out of state via rescue transportation, included in adoption fee. Offer Zoom call to virtually meet prior to adoption. Meet Barkley! This sweet baby wandered up on someone's property. He was wearing a harness on that had the brand name boots and barkley, so that's where the finder got his name. Barkley was chipped, but unfortunately it was not registered. It shows that he was adopted in January2023, and that he is estimated about 5 years of age. He currently weighs around 55 lbs and we believe him to be a border collie/cattle dog mix. He has energy and he loves to run and play, but can be a couch potato too. His favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball! Barkley likes other dogs if they are female, but has not been a fan of males. We believe it's from a lack of social time with other dogs because he doesn't come off as just an aggressive pup, he just seems like he was kept in a yard and ignored a lot of the time prior to rescue and may not be familiar with most dogs. Barkley clearly knows his basic commands, such as sit, kennel, shake and settle. He is highly toy and food motivated and responds wonderfully to focused training. With continued training, we could even see him being an agility pup! Barkley is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is fully vetted, meaning he us neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventions for flea, tick and heartworm. For more information on how to adopt Barkley, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com for an application.

Story
Echo is a sweet approximately 15 months old pup who was rescued from a high kill Animal Shelter of Texas, where she spent a long time cooped up. She got lucky due to her sweet disposition. She was a shelter favorite. Echo is a very sweet and calm girl who loves her humans. She lives with both dogs and cats, and usually does not bother them as she is velcro and finds her humans to follow. She would do good as an only pet, getting all the attention and affection. She is laidback and obedient. She is also highly trainable as she is a quick learner. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love. Echo is currently about 45 pounds. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Her adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness, leash, and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. Sweet Echo is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this gorgeous girl via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, and the ones who are taken to our shelters, where they are euthanized if they are not rescued or adopted. By adopting one of our pups, you are actually saving two lives - the one they adopt, the one who takes their space in the foster home.

🐾 Meet Belle – The Tiny Miracle with a Big Heart! 🐾 Belle is a sweet, fun, and incredibly smart little pup! She was the tiniest of a litter of 10 and was born with a condition called hydrocephalus. In the beginning, she struggled to thrive, and her mama dog tried to release her. That’s when we got the urgent call for help and Belle’s journey to healing began as she was rushed to the emergency vet and has been a little fighter ever since. 💖 A Joyful Spirit Belle’s condition doesn’t slow her down at all! She lives life to the fullest!! ✨ Plays, cuddles, and adores everyone she meets ✨ Walks wonderfully on a leash ✨ Loves car rides ✨ Knows how to use the doggy door ✨ Eager to earn treats and give sweet puppy kisses Her presence is pure sunshine—happy, joyful, and full of love. 🩺 Her Care Belle’s hydrocephalus is easily managed with a low over-the-counter dose of omeprazole, along with prednisone. She takes her medicine like a champ and continues to thrive. 🏡 Belle is Ready for Her Forever Home Belle has already overcome so much and is proof that miracles come in small packages. She’s ready to bring her joy, kisses, and brave little heart to a forever family who will adore her as much as she adores life. Story
We adopted Ruby at the end of July and she’s 14 months old. She’s a very sweet, cuddly dog. Smart, food motivated, easy to train and eager to please. She’s got plenty of energy for adventures. She’s friendly and happy to meet new people and dogs. We’re rehoming Ruby because we don’t have the time to spend with her. We work full time jobs and don’t have energy to play as much as she would like. Ruby is great with other dogs, excited to meet but not very playful. At the dog park she sticks to her people. Ruby is a herding breed. She mouths to communicate. Never dangerous, but she has caused small scratches. She can be left alone no problem. We’ve trained sit, down, shake, and a moderately reliable “come” and “place”. She doesn’t wander far when off leash and is house trained. Ruby needs someone who can match her energy and wants to spend a lot of time with her. She loves adventures, playing and being with her people.

Story
Meet Tango! We love this gorgeous, loving boy so much! Whoever becomes his family will be lucky as can be! Sweet Tango was found with two brothers fending for themselves in a rural area, likely left to die. Tango arrived with some injuries on his neck and has healed well.   Tango was born last November, and his pictures make him look bigger than he is. He is super sweet, affectionate, and oh, so cute. He loves people; his favorite thing is being with you and even going on errands. He is a super snuggler on the couch and in bed, where he makes an excellent sleeping partner.    He is a gentle boy learning about the world and getting good training in his foster home. He does not know much of anything but is eager to learn. He is a fast learner, food-motivated, and eager to please. He knows several commands, little smarty that he is.   While we were having Tango's neck attended to at the vet, they discovered he had a heart murmur. He had heart surgery to repair the issue and is now in perfect shape with a long life ahead of him!   Tango really loves his people around, so someone who works remotely or is home more than not, he will love it! He does ok alone for short periods of time. He does not enjoy being crated, a common thing among dogs. He loves other dogs but will chase a cat. He also will do best with kids 12 on up, as he is a herding breed and can follow people's heels.   Tango is a little gem in the rough and can be a diamond.   He is fixed, vaccinated, and chipped. His adoption fee is $450.           We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
