Story
Hi, just call me Buba,I am just a little guy who is learning to trust and build some confidence. I think I have come a long way since I was rescued but I still have work to do. I love people, even the little people who offer me gentle pets and cuddles. It makes my heart sing!I can be very playful with other dogs if I am introduced properly, otherwise, I am pretty shy. Cats are good too, I just ignore them.I am happy to play with toys but even a plastic water bottle can be fun, I am not too fussy. I am getting used to car rides, at first, I was very restless because it was scary but now I know what to expect so it is better. I like water, but I haven’t been to the beach yet, maybe that is something we can do together.I am just a young pup so I have plenty to learn about obedience, walking on a leash, and basic commands but if you have some patience I will learn quickly. All I want is to please you.If it sounds like we could be a family together then just fill out the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love to give,Buba To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Story
Hi, my name is Zar,I had a bit of a rough start in life, but things got better for me when my foster mom rescued me. I like to play with other dogs but when I get tired, I can get a bit grouchy. Children frighten me, so I have some memories there that I need to work on. Same thing as playing with balls, it reminds me of when I had stones thrown at me. I spend most of my time in the yard, even going into the house is scary for me. I do my business outside in the same place all the time but if I was in the house I don’t think I would know how to tell you I needed to go out.I will need a lot of love and patience so I can build some confidence. We went to the beach the other day and it was a new experience that I would love to get used to. I know I can be a great dog for the right people. If you are looking for an adult dog that you can work with to teach him how to be the best dog, then I think we could be a family. Just fill in an application and we can meet on a Zoom call. Lots of Love to share.Zar To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. There you will see any videos, more photos and details.

Story
Welcome Astrid to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2.5-year-old Cattle Dog and Lab mix maybe. She was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult. She is now a bit of a timid adult. She is potty trained and good in a crate. We think she may not have stayed home a lot as a puppy and didn’t get the interactions with other people that they need as a puppy. She is timid of new people but she is a nice dog. She is not over the top active and would be fine with a moderately active family. I think her best home is as an only dog where it is quiet and she can get all the attention. She would be great with a person that has a quieter home and is more of a stay home kind of person and doesn’t care that their dog also wants to be a home body. She would be best with someone that doesn’t want a social butterfly but just seeks companionship. She would be fine around children. I would say older like 10 or more. A retired single or couple would be her ideal pick if she could talk. She is healthy, vaccinated and spayed and ready for her forever home. She can be adopted locally in Texas where she is with the rescue. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Monty to CCPAL Rescue Program. Monty is a 2-year old Australian Cattle dog and Whippet. He weighs 39 pounds and is a medium sized boy. He is good with cats, kids and dogs as well. He is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a crate. He is vaccinated, healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted. He currently lives in a home with a family that has children. He was found as a stray and is now looking for his forever home. He was friendly to strangers and moderately active and not too vocal. He is a low to moderate shed. Some shedding but not over the top. He is a great dog and would be a great walking companion for someone wanting a medium sized easier dog to adopt. He entertains himself so he won’t need constant attention from you. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this adorable boy to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Max to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Smooth Coated Collie/Heeler mix is our best guess. He weighs 35 pounds and he loves other dogs. He is very dog friendly with all types of other dogs. He is friendly with the horses and the donkeys in his foster home. He is good on a leash, potty trained and super affectionate. He knows sit and does it very well. He is very attentive and follows direction easily. He knows shake a paw with both paws and is great on a leash. He was an outside dog in his first home and a good Samaritan took him in. He has been with a vet that had PTSD and is sometimes too rough with him. He is very loving to women and also loves men after being at the Rescue for only a week or two. He loves all people and once he knows he is safe bonds deeply and is extremely loyal and devoted companion. He would be great for a hiker, walker, jogger or any one who wants a good companion to take with you. He would be great in a doggy daycare setting as he easily gets along well with all dog personalities. He is vaccinated, healthy, neutered and ready for his forever home. He loves children with open arms and has been around them regularly. This is a WONDERFUL dog and will be a great addition to any family wanting an easy dog to bring in. He would be great for a more novice adopter as he is smart, skilled and follows direction easily. He would be a great dog for a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Story
Caspian is a fixed male 10 yr old cattle dog mix. He is up to date on all vaccines, and has no health issues. Like most heelers, Caspian is a shadow dog, becoming intensely devoted to his human companion, and is often wary of strangers. He would happily become someone’s next running or hiking companion, and is energetic, loyal, and intelligent. He has only just started slowing from miles long hikes. He will exhaust himself with fetch or frisbee. He is well trained, and not destructive; he will only chew on toys or balls he has been given. He is house broken, having been an indoor dog his whole life. Caspian would do very well in a home with a medium/larger submissive dog companion. He is indifferent to cats, however he could be prone to herd. Caspian is looking for his next chapter with someone who has the time to devote to his energy, a firm and kind attitude, and has a good understanding of the patience it takes to bond with a stubborn heeler. He will be a faithful companion.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Bandit! He is a 3-year-old, 55 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix who is looking for his forever home. He is a very happy, friendly, intelligent boy. He is playful and has lots of energy and LOVES to play with balls. He knows basic commands and he would make a wonderful running partner and loyal companion. Bandit would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around in. He will need to be an only dog where he can get all of the love and attention. He can be jumpy, so we don't recommend a home with small children. Bandit is neutered, microchipped and UTD on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT: Meet Bowie! Bowie is a 4-year-old, 60 lb Cattle Dog mix who has not had the easiest life and came to us as a confiscation/cruelty case from CA. Despite his rough start in life, he is a great example of how dogs live in the moment, and he is a sweet boy with a good disposition. He would love an active family who will take him for walks and on adventures. He can be a strong puller but walks pretty well on a leash with an easy walk harness. He is a sweet boy who knows basic obedience and takes treats gently. Bowie has done well with other dogs in our care but can be excitable when meeting other dogs so a neutral dog in the home would be best or he would be fine as an only dog as well. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard for him to run, play and lounge around. Bowie is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.

Hi, Tomasa is my name and if you want an all around easy dog to get along with - I'm your girl! I love to swim, run, and play. I can already imagine all the fun things we could do together. But I am also very content to lay be your feet and just chill. Don't worry - I'll periodically give you my paw to let you know I'm there and available for cuddling. I don't need constant attention, but I'll take as much as you want to give.I can be a bit shy when we first meet but I warm up quickly and then we are best friends.I am still a young girl who is very curious and learning new things all the time. I getting pretty good at walking on a leash without pulling - and with your help I'm sure I'll be perfect soon! And did I mention I love treats? I already know how to sit for a treat. Being food motivated makes me easy to train. I get along great with most dogs after we are introduced, but I can be a bit vocal with dogs that I don’t know. Once we are introduced, we're good friends. In fact, I go for walks on our La Paz Malecon every Wednesday just so I can meet new dogs and people and be a social girl. If you like an all-around great dog - who has energy to play when you are ready, will chill and lay at your feet while you work, and be ready for cuddles when it's time -- I'm definitely the girl for you.If you think we could have a happy life together, then just click on the "Apply to Adopt" button. Story
Welcome Dixie to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 9-month old Smooth Coated Collie/Kelpie is our best guess on breed. She weighs 50 pounds. She is very very loyal to her people and would be great with someone wanting a dog to go with you places or if you work from home and want a loyal partner. She is crate trained, potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She was found as a stray and her foster mom has been putting this girl through dog training. She is doing really good in her classes and is learning some more basic commands. She is a higher energy dog and would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker type person. She is lower on the shed scale. She has a lot of personality and would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Her best home would be with a fenced yard. She could run and play off some energy. She likes you to be outside with her as she wants to be around her family over exploring the yard all along without you. She would be fine with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccinations, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
