Story
Willa is a sweet, bright gal who LOVES people, snuggling, playing with her stuffies, and adventuring! Willa is eager to learn; she is strong with nonverbal commands and knows: sit, down, place, stay, let's go, find it, leave it, settle, and come. She is great on a leash, is crate-trained, and successfully is left to free roam when I'm away without issue. Willa is loyal and attached to her people - you can expect affectionate grumbles and a gift when you return after a long day! It breaks my heart to give up this sweet, goober, but with cats at home, she would be better served in a less stressful environment. Willa does take anxiety medicine and has blossomed with positive behavioral training; I hope to find an adopter who can continue to support her in these ways. Willa typically is nervous around other dogs and would thrive as an only pet. I would prefer to see her in a home with a backyard to receive ample exercise and enrichment.

Story
Saara is 5 years old. She loves to go to the bog park, hikes, walks, and cuddles. She is shy, sweet, and takes a moment to warm up to you. She loves to lay in the sun and bring you outside with her to enjoy the sun. She is very intelligent and sits funny. My wife is pregnant with Twins, and Saara has anxiety in crates and cars, which requires more attention then we can unfortunately give. She deserves to be with a family that can take her on many walks and adventures.

Story
Hello! My name is Stella. I am an energetic, lovable, goofy 7 month old mixed breed (62% Australian Cattle Dog, 14% Doberman, per Vet DNA test). I wake up full of energy and kisses, ready to start the day with a bang! I love to play with my fellow dog friends in the house (4 y/o corgi and 3 y/o hound), but they have some issues and are stressed with my puppy energy. I am very curious about the cats and I do not quite understand that I need to leave them alone. That is why my mom is looking for a new home for me! I am very smart and have learned to sit, lay down, and wait for my food. Stay is hard because I just want to follow you and see what you’re doing! Now that I am spayed and have all my shots, my mom is taking me to puppy training so I can learn more! I would do best in a home with someone who works from home, likes to hike or run, and someone who can be patient and train me to be the best girl I can be!

Story
Penny is a fun and spunky young Australian Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix with the most beautiful brindle coat and the biggest smile! At about 5-years-old, Penny is full of energy and looking for a home that will give her lots of daily exercise, play, and mental stimulation. She`s very smart and loves to learn! And when she`s tuckered out, Penny loves to snuggle up with her people. Penny needs a dog experienced home with just teens and adults, and no other pets. Penny does not enjoy other dogs, and to keep walks enjoyable for both her and her human, she would do best living in an area where there aren`t a lot of other dogs around. Penny is not a fit for an apartment or condo and needs a fenced backyard. If you`re ready to bump up your daily exercise and snuggling time, make an adoption appointment to meet Penny today! *Penny`s adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.#playful #activelifestyle #nodogs #nocats

Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA & OR, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle or cash. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue. If the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees & charges we will accept PayPal. Beautiful & very sweet Maggie is so incredibly lucky to be alive. Her mum who we have in the rescue & rescued from death. Aussie was pregnant in a high kill shelter in CA & was going to be euthanized heavily pregnant because no one was coming to help her. Well we did & she gave birth to 7 puppies, but unfortunately 1 went to heaven. Maggie was one of the 6 & the only female with her 5 brothers. They were all loved & looked after in a foster home & once she & her brothers were old enough they came back to WA & now Miss Maggie is looking for a forever home & a wonderful family to love her. Maggie is such a very soft gentle natured little lady compared to the huge personalities of her brothers. She is a little shy at first until she knows you then her loving, adventurous & curious puppy personality comes out. She loves, loves other dogs & playing with them & absolutely needs another dog in the home for her to thrive. She likes sitting on a chair & looking out the window in her foster home & taking it all in. She will also want to sleep in the bed with you & adores throwing herself around in comfy blankets. When she is comfortable her tail does not stop wagging. She is still a puppy & would still need to be taught her puppy manners. She also enjoys going up to her foster mum & resting her head on her & being close to her. She adores being held & kissed. She is such a lovely innocent girl. We also put Maggie into a daycare to socialize her with all different dog personalities & she has done well. Maggie’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for her safety. She enjoys going out into the backyard in her foster home & running around playing with her friends & siblings. In CA she also enjoyed laying out in the sun & relaxing. Maggie has been great with her baths because she started having them with us in her loving foster home the moment she was able to so she is used to them. She loves both men & woman once she knows them. Maggie is a big eater as she is a growing puppy. She is not shy about eating once she is comfortable. Maggie rode beautifully in the car with her foster mum & enjoys a good journey & will also once she knows & trusts her new family to. She needs continued work walking on her harness & leash. We are looking for a forever home for Maggie where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Maggie is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her. Maggie has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. In her foster home she is with dogs. A fenced backyard is mandatory for Maggie. Maggie is roughly just 2 years old & 25 lbs & is perhaps an Australian cattle & what she is mixed with we are not sure at all. She is female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets & she is microchipped. She was given flea treatment, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, dewormed. Maggie has been around cats since being in the rescue in her foster home & did well with the cat in the foster home but doesn’t mean she will do well with all cats. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Maggie was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Maggie’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Maggie potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Maggie & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Maggie who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. We have spent so much more money on Maggie than her adoption fee even comes close to covering. Maggie has an adoption fee of $450 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Well we did & she gave birth to 7 puppies, but unfortunately 1 went to heaven. Morgan was one of the remaining 6 babies. They were all loved & looked after in a foster home in CA & once he & is siblings were old enough they came back to WA & now Morgan is looking for a forever home & a wonderful family to love him. UPDATE: We are absolutely devastated to say that Morgan the very loyal boy is yet again looking for his forever home. He is losing his home because he has become protective of his mum & dad in his own home & when they have guests over he has become fearful of other people & nipped at them & lunged at them while in his home. While with us in our rescue, Morgan was always a gentleman & loved everyone & was our vet’s favorite boy. Morgan is a rescue, we are looking for a forever home for him where he has a quite home now & not lots of guests. He does love other dogs. His previous family said: - Loves walks, puzzles, chew toys, cuddling on the couch, playing in the yard, and most of all fetch. - Sleeps until around 7:30AM, is mellow for a few hours, then is ready for physical activity and mental stimulation. Naps multiple times a day and settles down for the night around 8:00PM. - Eats 3 x a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. - Highly intelligent and very food driven. Training with treats has been very successful. - Has learned the commands come, sit, stay, lay-down, shake, go to your bed, off and drop it. - Prefers to be with his humans. The most time he has been left at home alone was 2.5 hours and he was not destructive. Morgan is shy & nervous at first when he doesn’t know you but once he warms up to you, he is SUPER sweet & just wants to be near you! He just wanted me to keep petting him so he was standing up to reach my hands. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky once he warms up to them. He is so precious one our wonderful ladies at our vets said while Morgan was there getting his medical taken care of. She also said she wants to say hi to Morgan when she comes in & he gets so excited to see her & he is such a sweet boy. Morgan is such a lovely natured little lad & compared to his other brothers who have so much energy. Of course being a puppy he is adventurous & has the curious puppy personality come out. He gets along so well with other dogs & will play with other dogs & he could be the king of his new house to if he got all the attention. He will also want to sleep in the bed with you & adores throwing himself around in comfy blankets. When he is comfortable his tail does not stop wagging. He is still a puppy & would still need to be taught his puppy manners. He also adores being close to people & so wants to be held & kissed. We also put Morgan into a daycare to socialize him with all different dog personalities & he has done well. Morgan’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & running around playing with his friends & siblings. In CA he also enjoyed laying out in the sun & relaxing. He still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash but he is learning but still gangly when being walked. We are looking for a forever home for Morgan where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Morgan is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & his puppy ways. Story
4 years old. She's lived with 2 kids under 10 for 3.5 years, no issues. She is an active dog and requires frequent exercise/stimulation. I have a new job that requires more of my time and travel and I can't give her the activity she needs. She's Ideally a working dog and would thrive with someone who can take her with them during the day or working from home. She's protective of the home, doesn't bark excessively, only as needed. She's wary of strangers, won't let them pet her unless they are a child. She's loyal and protective, she gets skiddish with fireworks, etc.
