Story
Animal Information: Juniper is an estimated 2 year old, female, cattle dog/chihuahua/ mix currently weighing approximately 16lbs. She has been pulled from our rescue partner, Tulare, in California due to overcrowding. She is described as a happy and friendly pup. She was kenneled with Jeremy. Foster Profile: Juniper is a social little gal who is settling in nicely to her foster home. She gets along with all people and happily free roams (supervised) with the other dogs in her foster home. She also does well with the cats, though she can try and chase them a little bit (nothing malicious) and she is getting more comfortable with playing with them. She may be suitable in a home with a cat that is confident and stands their ground (does not flee) or likes to play.  Juniper is working on being quiet in the crate and some leash manners. She is being fostered by a trainer and will go to her forever home with some strong skills and manners. We haven't seen Juniper around kids, but she is very social and works through insecurity well, so she may be suitable with dog-savvy kids. Juniper is an amazing little dog,  even with some insecurity, she bounces back fast. She's playful but will nap when you're not engaging with her! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Tulare, CA. He will be transferred via Furry Freight, arriving to foster care on 12/13/2025 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 16, 2026, 2:20 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Luna is a now 3-year-old, 40 lb Cattle Dog mix who originally joined our rescue from Texas as a 9-week-old puppy (fka Dory) and was adopted by her foster family. Over three years later, she is coming back to rescue as her family is moving to Germany and cannot take her with them. Luna is super social and friendly with dogs of all sizes and is currently housed with cats (they're fun!) without any aggression. Luna has some noise phobias and will need some confidence building and exposure training, but is otherwise well behaved -- house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, and loves to run and play chase with other dogs. She plays very nicely.   Foster Update: 9-30-25  Luna is doing better and better! She can relax and enjoy quiet neighborhood walks and trail and park walks. She did great on our hikes! On busy city streets, she's still anxious (she pants) but will cooperate with the leash. She's good with dogs as long as we're all walking, but she may bark when we're staying still and other objects (dog, toddlers) approach us. She has minor resource guarding when she’s eating and another dog come close, but humans are no threat.  Luna loves me and my husband equally and knows sit, down, and not rushing through doors. She has 3-year-old dog playful energy but settles herself on her bed or in her crate without seeking attention all the time. On the other hand, she loves cuddling when invited to do so. She's done great on the many car rides we've take her on too. We've left her in her car crate while we've done errands and she just naps and wait. I think Luna could use a family who lives in a quieter area and has an outdoor lifestyle. Exercise in nature really helps her lower her stress level and do better at handling challenging, noisy environments when needed. She could be the solo dog or with another confident dog.  Earlier updates: Luna has truly transformed in foster care. While she can be a little nervous around loud noises, she looks to her person for guidance and is able to recover quickly from any startling sounds. Luna has learned to walk politely in a heel on leash, and with her excellent crate and car manners, she has been able to join her foster family on adventures including hiking, camping, and beach outings. She will be happiest in a home with another dog who can help show her the way, but she could also thrive as an only dog with an owner committed to continuing her current training. Luna knows several commands including crate, sit, stay, down, place, and heel. She is friendly when meeting new people and loves to play with other dogs. We have loved watching her blossom and open up since returning to rescue. Now she is ready for a family of her own! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: She was found with her sibling as a young puppy wandering as a stray in rural Texas, picked up by Animal Control and transferred to our rescue partner AARC Del Rio. They were transferred to DGS arriving to foster care on 07/13/22. She was adopted by her foster, who reached out to surrender in August 2025 as the family was moving to Germany and could not bring her along. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. October 8, 2025, 10:57 pm

Story
Animal Information: Waylon and Winnie were surrendered to Haven Humane Society at 1 week old and rescued by one of our California partners. They are now 5-months-old, and have grown up in a home with dogs, cats, kids, horses and other livestock. Mama was only 40lbs, but we don't know who dad was. These puppies are friendly, playful and so very sweet.  Foster Update: Winnie may be just 5 months old, but she has the sweetest old soul. There’s a gentle, thoughtful quality about her that makes everyone she meets fall a little bit in love. She’s wonderfully social and has gotten along beautifully with every dog she’s met, and she’s always eager to make new friends, both canine and human. Winnie is doing fantastic with potty training on a consistent schedule, is comfortable in her crate, and sleeps peacefully through the night. She rides well in the car and has shown a remarkably gentle demeanor, even when spending time with a toddler. This girl would thrive in a family that appreciates large breed dogs. She would be perfectly happy as an only dog or with a canine sibling to share her days. If you’re looking for a kind, affectionate companion with a heart full of love, Winnie is ready to grow up by your side.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Forever Home Dog Rescue in Edmonds, WA. They will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 20, 2026, 6:38 pm

Story
Kaia Bear is one special lady, searching for her special family! This darling 8-year-old Cattle Dog mix is ready to set off on her new adventure. And she hopes it involves hiking and exploring! Kaia Bear is a big fan of being outside, sniffing all there is to sniff, feeling the sun on her fur, and getting her steps in. Not only does she make an amazing adventure buddy, but Kaia Bear bonds strongly to her people and makes an amazing best friend and cuddle buddy to keep you company at home. Kaia Bear enjoys sitting in her person's lap, getting pets, and playing fetch with tennis balls. And of course, showing off her cool tricks! Kaia Bear can be selective with other dogs and does better with mellow male dogs. She will likely do best and be easiest to manage being the only dog in the home. Kaia Bear needs a home without cats or other small animals. Kaia Bear is looking for a quiet, adult only home with a fenced yard (no apartments, please) she can zoom around and sunbathe in. If you think Kaia Bear may be your match, reach out to us today! Kaia Bear's adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program. **Kaia Bear's adoption process is a little different than our usual process. She will need several meet and greets (both in shelter and at your home) before going home to stay. Please email adoption@homewardpet.org if you're interested in learning more about Kaia Bear!**
