Meet Finn!   If your dream dog is smart, athletic, goofy, and loyal to the core — congratulations, you just found him! Finn is a 2 year old Mini Australian Shepherd (with a full-sized heart!) who weighs in at a perfect 35 pounds. He’s on the hunt for an active, outdoorsy, and dog-savvy home where he can put all his brains and energy to good use.   Finn’s days are filled with adventure — whether it’s trotting alongside you on the trails, playing epic games of backyard tag (figure eights are his specialty), or showing off his impressive list of tricks. He’s incredibly intelligent and loves learning, especially when treats are involved. Sit, roll over, weave through your legs? He’s got it down. With the right guidance, Finn could easily be your future agility dog, hiking buddy, or even the star of your neighborhood's next dog show. He doesn’t just want a job; he needs a job to feel happy and fulfilled.   Finn is wonderful with other dogs he knows and is happy to share his home and heart with doggy friends. Like many young herding breeds, he’s energetic and full of enthusiasm — sometimes too much for a simple stroll around the block! On leash, he can be reactive to dogs and people passing by, barking and pulling with excitement. However, he’s been working hard on his manners and will thrive with a confident, experienced person who can continue to lead him with calm guidance. If you love a good training challenge and believe in bringing out the best in your dog, Finn is ready to meet you halfway (especially if you have treats).   At home, Finn is a total sweetheart. He’s house-trained, respectful of your belongings, and happiest when he’s close to his people — sleeping at your feet, supervising your activities, or doing a quick zoomie in the yard just to celebrate life. He would love a fenced yard to burn off some energy daily and a human who shares his love of movement, learning, and fun.   Finn is not a dog for a first-time owner, but for the right person — someone who knows that a brilliant, active dog needs more than a couple of walks a day — he’s an absolute gem. If you're ready for a loyal sidekick who’ll make you laugh, keep you moving, and reward your efforts with endless love and devotion, Finn is ready to be your next great adventure.April 26, 2025, 7:00 am

I have a 3 year old male Australian Shepherd. Super energetic and friendly. Unfortunately due to my busy schedule I can no longer give him the attention that he needs. He loves to go on walks or play with other dogs. He is leash trained. He can be super chill as an indoor dog but he does get super excited around people and loves his pets .

Story
UPDATE:  LORELAI was rescued by Roxy's Rescue Haven in Petaluma, CA.  She'll be adoptable through them. This is a courtesy posting.  LORELAI is desperately in need of rescue from the Kern Co Shelter (Bakersfield, CA).  She needs a foster or foster to adopt home as she has a leg lameness that needs treating.  If you are in the S.F. Bay Area and could foster her reach out to us ASAP! LORELAI has been a very good girl at the shelter.  She found a foster home thru the shelter, but now that her leg needs attention that the shelter can't provide, she needs to find rescue.  Here's what her foster home had to say about her: Lorelai(A1216965) is looking for her furever home! She is a 45 pound shepherd mix and she has been spayed by the shelter!  She is great on walks, very friendly and will greet everyone she meets.  She has been good with other dogs, babies and children.  She is curious and likes to explore.  She is also good in the car and will hop in and out all by herself.  She has a little bit of training.  She can sit, ring a bell when she needs to go out, understands "no" and when you tell her to "go sleep" she will go to her bed.  She's a sweet and special girlapplication, home visit, adoption feeJuly 7, 2025, 12:50 pm

Story
Five year old, medium sized, purebred Australian Shepard(with tail) seeking new home with yard. Cheerful, energetic, loves to fetch ball, sweet, loving, cuddly. She is fine with other medium to large dogs. Due to predatory response with our small whiney miniature dog we think she is best to live without other small dogs.

Story
Australian Shepherd Mix Age: 2 yr old Female, Spayed 32 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) We pulled Sage from the Stockton Shelter over a year and a half ago. She was just 3 months old and had been hit by a car. Both hips were in very bad shape. The side that took the impact was not salvageable (and the decision was to amputate that leg). The other side wasn't much better, but our vet thought that because she was young, the hip may "heal" enough on its own to be usable - and it appears that it did - because she definitely uses that leg like nothing ever happened. One of the families that nursed her back to health decided that they wanted to adopt her. Unfortunately, we probably "dropped the ball" on her adoption. We were so thrilled to find a home for a disabled dog, that we didn't focus enough on her breed - a working/herding Australian Shepherd (no matter how many legs she has). In hindsight, the family that adopted her wasn't the best fit for her needs, and they rightfully returned her. Sage needs LOTS of exercise. In an urban setting this means brisk walks/runs, frequent visits to a large space dog park. She is also very smart and needs mentally stimulating activities. This breed doesn't do well with routine long periods of confinement (like a crate or small room). She would do well with other dogs similar to her breed who can set a good example for her. She has spent a couple days at the adoption center with lots of other dogs showing her how to be friendly with visitors to the dog area. She did well. On days that we didn't have a lot of dogs there, she was more weary of strangers that came into the adoption center - she could use some more socialization. Ideally, we would love to find her a rural setting, where she had lots of outdoor space and with other herding breed dogs, but unfortunately, that would probably too much to ask for. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Sage, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
