Story
Candy is about 13 years old. We adopted her from a rescue in Texas in August 2013 who specializes in Australian Shepherds. We have another (male, mini Aussie) dog. They got along great for a number of years, but Candy has become quite aggressive showing her Alpha female side. Our other dog is now practically blind and deaf and we are concerned about her behavior towards him. She loves attention and we think she would be great in her golden years as the only dog in a home. We have enjoyed having her in our home. She likes going on walks, love treats and craves and eats up as much attention as she can get. She doesn't seem to care for the neighbors cats when they try to venture into our yard. Candy is about 22 pounds.

Story
Meet Willow: A Loving Companion in Search of a Stress-Free Home Willow is an intelligent and loyal canine companion, seeking a patient and loving forever home where she can thrive. We first welcomed Willow into our family from a KSL add. We were given minimal information by her previous owners just that they didn’t have the space to care for her anymore. Willow will be 8 in December and has grown into fiercely protective companion to those she loves and has been the source of a lot of joy in our home. However, it pains us to acknowledge that her presence in our home has since become a source of stress for our family and our other dog. We have family and new friends over a lot and with Willow’s inclination towards guarding and occasional aggression towards strangers, coupled with conflicts with our other dog, it has led us to the difficult decision of finding her a new home where she can be the center of attention without the pressure of navigating unfamiliar faces or other pets.

Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Looking for a buddy to snuggle with on these cold winter days? You are? Me too! I’m Kinz, a three-year-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing in at 60 lbs. I’m a happy-go-lucky girl who loves to be with my people. Working? I'll cuddle up on a dog bed next to you. Watching a movie? I'll be on the couch, preferably sharing your blanket. Going somewhere? Great, I'll hop in the backseat!   I’m also great with other dogs, and love to play with my foster dog siblings as much as they want! I'm crate trained and house trained. In fact, I know how to use the doggy door and am learning to ring a bell when the doggy door is closed.   My foster parents say that I’d love a home with a good balance of exercise and cuddle time. I really like kiddos, but am still learning some manners so kids 8+ or smaller kids that are dog savvy would be a perfect fit.   If you think I could be your new best friend, apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey! I’m Brownie Bear, and I’m 1 year old! I weigh 67 pounds.  I’m a Chesapeake bay retriever/Australian Shepard mix. I like running in snow, going on walks, playing fetch, destroying socks, wrestling with my brother, and snuggling. My foster mom says I’m “quite the character”, I have lots of energy and get growly if I don’t get my way- training will be very important for me, as I like to jump on people and still have the occasional pee accident. I’m so smart and will do anything for a treat! I can sit, fetch, lay, stay and I love my crate! I will sleep through the night, and give you the best puppy dog eyes. I will do best in a home with no cats,  no small kids, and one with lots of love. I do like playing with other dogs, and am so excited to find my forever home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Top of the morning to ya! My name is Croia (KREE-a), an Irish name that means “heart.” My foster named me for the heart-shaped marking on my head and the fact that I am a TOTAL love bug! I am a 1 year old 23lb aussie mix girl who is equal parts cuddly and energetic. When I’m not busy cuddling or keeping tabs on my favorite people, I enjoy playing with my canine foster sister, munching on a chew, or I might peruse the backyard in search of bugs! Strangers make me nervous, but that doesn’t stop me from getting excited to go on a walk! Running is even better, and I’m a natural at keeping pace! Though I am shy and cautious at first, once I know you are as sweet and kind as me it won’t be long before I am asking for belly rubs and scratches on my VERY soft, fluffy head! I can be quite the goofball too! Just let me come to you and I will warm up in no time.  Smarty pants? That’s me! I’m house trained, and after only a week I’ve mastered my crate training! Learning the dog door was easy as pie, and “sit” is my favorite trick besides showing off how high I can jump! Yes, these lanky legs are full of springs! If you offer me a treat and something to jump over I might just show you how it’s done! As for cats, I met one the other day and gave her a sniff - she swatted at me! I can take a hint, so if you have a dog-savvy kitty in your home I probably won’t pay them much mind. However, any squirrel intruders will be prosecuted to the full extent of the paw! When it comes to children, because of my shy nature I probably prefer kids over 6.  Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 1:40 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey there I’m “Boop” and I think I’m pretty dang cute, wouldn’t you say? My foster mom tells me how pretty my coat is ALL the time! I’m chocolate brown primarily and then different shades of brown throughout my coat. I also have a white chest and webbed feet. It won’t take you long to fall in love with me!    I’m a 4 month old female Lab Mix (most likely mixed with some Shepherd) and one heck of a sweetheart! It’s a guess, but I think I’ll end up between 60-70 when I’m an adult.    I love people, but I will be a little shy at first. I warm up pretty quick, especially if you have some yummy treats for me. I’m great with kids of all ages. So far I haven’t been a mouthy puppy at all which is a huge plus I’m told.    I’m a pro at being a snuggle buddy, but I can also be independent sometimes like when I want to fall asleep on a dog bed all spread out.    I am working on house training and crate training (getting close), and I picked up the dog door really quick.    If you think you're the someone(s) that can provide me a loving and safe home, then please apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 1:40 pm
