This young dog is on the lookout for his forever home, where he can bring endless joy and companionship. Oscar adores long walks, belly rubs, and cuddling on the couch. He knows basic commands and is potty trained. Please give him the chance to show you how he can be your best friend. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. July 11, 2024, 3:15 pm

Hello, my name is Polly! I am a young Beagle looking for my forever home! I am bonded with my pal, Perdita. You see, without her around, I'm a bit nervous and looking for her, so it's best us girls stick together! We are looking for an active household that will do fun things with us, and give us lots of love. We are hoping for a home where we are the only pets to get lots of love, and a fun fenced yard to run around and explore in. I also LOVE being outdoors, so a yard for me to sunbathe in will be important. I have been known to be a bit shy with new people, more so men, so this is something I may need work on. Don't worry though, I don't really have a mean bone in my body and would rather avoid scary people, though some yummy treats do help! My sis and I however LOVE children, so a home with kiddos would be fine with us! We are young, fun, happy go lucky girls, and know we will make someone very very happy! We have been looking for our forever home for a while now, and the nice people here have waived our adoption fee to find us the perfect home!

Story
Hi, I'm Perdita, a gentle soul with a curious nose. As you can see, I am pretty tight with my bestie Polly. So tight in fact that we need to get adopted together. When we are apart we get really upset and cry and scream for each other. Its really pathetic actually but we cant help it. We are besties.Since I'm a beagle, my sense of smell is my superpower. I love exploring new scents and going on sniffing adventures. I'm sweet and friendly, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. Though I might seem indifferent at times, it's just my laid-back nature. I promise I'm just as excited to see you. My gentle demeanor makes me a great companion for anyone. It's best I go to a home with no other animals, and a fenced yard as me and my sis love the space to sniff! If you're looking for a loyal friend who will always be there for you, then I'm your girl. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together! We have been looking for our forever home for a while now, and the nice people here have waived our adoption fee to find us the perfect home!

Story
Charlie is a very handsome 6-year-old beagle boy searching for his forever home. He loves his humans and enjoys getting attention from his foster mom. He is housetrained, loves car rides, potties in hi s fenced yard and during his walks. He follows the lead from the other dogs in his foster home. During walks he is very curious about any wildlife smells. He has a high prey drive and will try to climb over the fence. Charlie’s new home will require a very secure fence and close supervision when in the yard. Because of his high prey drive, he will need a home with no cats. Charlie is a very loving medium energy dog and will make the perfect addition for the right home. Contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor if you would like to know more about Charlie. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
This gorgeous young gal with movie-star looks is Avalon! At 7 months old and 35 pounds, Avalon is all puppy and is still growing. She’d make a great companion for an avid walker, hiker or runner or an active family. A home with a yard where she can burn off her puppy energy by romping and playing would be ideal. Playtime with other dogs is a serious business for Avalon, so supervision while she’s playing is a good idea. Avalon is a beagle/boxer/terrier mix, and we’re guessing that she’ll weigh in the neighborhood of 40 to 50 pounds once she’s an adult. Because of her size, she’ll need supervision around smaller children but should be fine with older ones. She’s cautious around strangers but will warm up to them if given time to get to know them. Avalon’s foster mom says that she a very smart girl and is picking up obedience basics such as “sit,” “wait,” and “come,” and is working on improving her leash manners. Avalon rides well in the car and goes to doggy daycare two or three days a week, where she really seems to enjoy hanging out and playing with her friends there. Her foster mom says she’s very food motivated and “eats like a vacuum” (show us a beagle who doesn’t!), so if there are other dogs in the house, she should be fed separately from them. When it’s time to go to sleep, Avalon is equally happy to snuggle up in a dog bed or people bed – she just wants to be comfy! She’s housetrained with the use of a doggy door. If you’re looking to liven up your days with a sweet, affectionate, energetic companion, Avalon may be the dog you’ve been looking for! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
