Story
Harlowe is going to make one household very lucky! This 14 year old Beagle was rescued by police from a potentially deadly situation. Despite that, Harlowe is thriving in her foster home. She loves playing chase with her foster family and tries her best to get the cats to play with her. HARLOWE gets along well with both cats and dogs. Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :) Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you think the animal in this profile might be a good fit for your home and would like to meet them, here's how! !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the Apply To Adopt button to submit an online adoption application. NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer will call or email with any questions. NOTE: If any questions are left unanswered or incomplete, the application would not be processed. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to process! 4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! ** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable dog experience (as a primary caretaker). All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative unless otherwise indicated. All are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and current on heartworm prevention! Additional questions... Does this dog get along with cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! Does this dog react well to other dogs? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. Is this dog good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. How did this dog end up in a shelter? The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog

1. PLEASE NOTE: Breed mix info is the best guess of Bark Bark Wag and our vets. There is no way to know for certain what any dog's breed mix is or whether they may be "hypoallergenic" without a DNA test; and most mixed-breed dogs may have 3, 4, 5+ different breeds in their mix! 2. MUST READ --THE FIRST STEP: Go to www.barkbarkwag.org and click on "Let's Get Started!" to learn about our easy 3-step adoption process & apply to adopt! *PLEASE NOTE: WE NEED AN ADOPTION APPLICATION TO START THE PROCESS* CHERIE Adorable Miss Cherie is part of the Pure Love litter (the pups' names are all love-related), and they're full of love and snuggles! Cherie is shyly sweet and so playful, and her name means "beloved". These precious puppies were found abandoned in a church parking lot, where a kind rescue person scooped them up and got them to safety. We're so happy they're part of the Bark Bark Wag family! We think the pups are Terrier/Beagle mixes (and maybe a few other cute breeds!), and they're 9-12# for now. Our vet's best guess at their age is around 12 weeks old, so these cutie pups' birthday is 6/26/24. This very playful bunch are doing alllll the typical sweet puppy things (nonstop playing, toy squeaking, nylabone chewing, and piling on top of each other for naps)! They are super affectionate and love bellyrubs & snuggles! Best fit families for these kids will be moderately active, with (or without) respectful kids 8+, who can provide lots of love and patience while the pups continue to learn and grow. **Adoption preference will be given to families who plan to attend positive puppy manners classes with their new pup!** APPLICATION & INFO: https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barkley is an active boy that gets along with other dogs and cats. He loves good game of chase with his fur foster siblings. He is 95% housetrained, he does have accidents in the house, but because we didn't see his cues (watching TV most likely). Barkley is a happy guy that likes car rides and walks. He actually does not bark very often. He is a beagle, so he follows his nose, runs at top speed and begs for food. He is a sweet boy and a snuggler... Barkley would do best with a fenced in yard. Barkley is neutered and up to date on his shots. Barkley would be a great dog for just about any family. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
