Hi, my name is Phyllis I am an adorable little lady looking for a family. You need to work a little to get to know me! I can be shy at first, but very affectionate when I know you well. I walk like a lady on leash and have great manners all around. I don`t like other animals, but would enjoy having adult human friends. I am a true mama dog, I take care of the people I care about and will bark when I see a stranger. It`s hard being a mama dog with no family...it just doesn`t make sense! If you want someone to watch over you, give you unconditional love, and warm your heart forever, please come visit me today! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. Hi there, I`m Zoey! I am one sweet girl, full of love and fun. I am energetic, excited, and ready to seize the day. I love to play and be goofy. I playing outside and soaking up the sunshine. I am crate trained and like to hang out in it when my family is out. I am quite strong and still learning to walk with manners, so I need someone with Zoey muscles to walk me! The staff here have me learning to wear a harness and practice basic obedience, which is helping. I would absolutely love to be the only animal in the home and soak up all your attention and affections. Come meet me today! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Story
Hello Everyone! I'm Woodsly! I was rescued from a kill shelter. Before the shelter- I was found abandoned in the woods. My age is unknown. The shelter thought I was about 8 years old, but my foster family's vet says I am about 4 years old. I am looking for my furever family. I love lounging on the couch and eating treats. I play fetch and know how to sit and speak. I like every dog, baby, kid, and cat I have met. I am a trickster and know how to escape from my harness if I am left tethered outside by myself. I would love a fenced in yard, but if not, that's ok to. I am house trained and crate trained. I am not fond of my crate and will howl at first but understand I can't go everywhere. My favorite thing to do, is just to be with you!

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Sarah - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Sarah from the Hebrew origins means 'Princess'. What a dream come true, being YOUR princess!! I could totally get on board being treated like a princess, you know, like being spoiled rotten with lots of belly rubs and ear and under the chin scratches and whoa if you threw in some treats that'd just be the bomb...a life of a princess!! I am a total sweetheart of around 8 years, that was pulled from a local shelter where I was on 'the list'. I was shutting down being in a cold loud kennel but since being in my foster home, I've opened up and am starting to blossom. I do wonderfully with the other pups here, even occasionally trying to play. I'm also enjoying playing with stuffie toys. I even like that resident weird smelling thing y'all call a cat, I mostly just let her be (cuz ya know, she smells weird!). I also do great with the little kiddos, being oh so gentle with them. Most of the time I'm quite content to take a snooze while you're doing your thing. I am house broken and getting good at using the doggie door to come inside and am just starting to realize I can use it to go out too! I'm really getting to love this doggie door thing! I like going for our walks around the property but I'm more of a meanderer then a cruiser. I'm at that stage in my life where I like to stop and smell the flowers instead of bulldozing right over them! Coming in at around 43lbs I'm not too small that I get under your feet but I'm not too big that I take up the whole... everything. I would make a great companion type pup for someone retired or that works from home. I would even make a great first time dog parent pup. I will be good in the kennel but I definitely don't care to use one and I'm very good about not getting into things I shouldn't. Are you looking for that calm mellow gal that will be happy just to be in the same room? Are you looking for that someone to share in your daily life going on's from the mundane to the exciting? That constant, your princess, in your life that will never turn down belly rubs or treats? Oh wait, yep...that'd be ME!!!

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there! My name is Marge! I'm about 2-3 years old and I weigh about 33 lbs. I was brought into the pound after some issues with my owner who had to be taken away for some health evaluations. We had been living in the car for quite some time when I was brought to the pound. It seemed that my owner did love me, she was just struggling in many ways. I am a very sweet girl here at the pound, but I've been struggling to find the right home. I am great with most people here. It can take me a little time to warm up, but once I know you, I act like I've loved you my whole life. My ideal home is a quiet one without children. I seem to do fine with men here at the pound, but men have been an issue for me in a home, so a home without men may also be best for me. I MUST meet all people I will be living with prior to being adopted just to make sure that I will do okay with them. Once I know and love my people, I am very protective of them, which is what sparked concern in my previous home as we lived near a play ground and I didn't like the kids or all the strange people around all the time. I have been good around the other dogs here at the pound and I have also done good around the cats that are here in the office. I do appear to be housebroken, at least for the most part. If you're looking for a medium sized dog to love, please consider me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Cooper is a great dog with a unique personality. He is extremely patient and does well with kids. He is still young so has lots of energy, but also likes being a potato and loves to cuddle. He loves to play- squeaky toys, balls, chew toys, rope. He is very sweet and has potential to be more behaved if trained (sometimes he jumps and barks) He is house trained and will stand by the door & eventually start crying to go outside. He knows basic commands (sit, paw, etc.). He is a little bossy and will force you to pet him by pawing at your arm, whining, and nudging with his head. Cooper a is a very very sweet and loving boy that only wishes to have love and attention
