Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. At just 1.5 years old, Gypsy (19 lbs) and Moose (22 lbs) are young, playful, and full of heart. Their previous family adored them deeply, but due to hard times, they were lovingly surrendered to Midwest BREW so they could have the future they deserve. Gypsy is the more outgoing of the pair—curious, affectionate, and quick to offer trust once she feels safe. Moose is a gentle soul with longer hair and a beagle-plus-cocker look. He’s more reserved at first, but once he warms up, he becomes a devoted snuggler who melts into your lap. Both pups were not well socialized early in life, so they’re shy when meeting new people. They do get nervous in new situations. They’ll need a couple of weeks to settle in. Gypsy and Moose are fun, lively dogs who enjoy toys, chasing a ball, and wrestling with each other. Watching them play is guaranteed to bring joy and laughter to their home. They will need a secured fenced yard as they LOVE doing zoomies together 3–4 times a day. It’s their favorite shared ritual. They are fully house trained and know how to use a dog door. They enjoy daily walks and are improving on leash manners. They sleep in bed with their foster parents and adore bedtime snuggles. This pair will thrive with adopters who can offer patience, consistency, and a secure environment. Once they feel safe, Gypsy and Moose become affectionate, playful companions who bring double the love and double the fun. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Kaiden is a sweet boy. Loves people but especially loves to be doing stuff. He isn`t noisy or obnoxious in his kennel - he`s actually a really good boy, he just would rather have something to do. So as little as this kid is, he isn`t really a lap dog - he`s a do everything with you dog! Kaiden would probably be fine with dog savvy kids of a certain age, so 10 and over is probably best to keep up with him! Kaiden came to us from the dog pound where he came in as a stray, so we don`t know much about his background. We do know that he is a resilient pup who deserves better. He does a good job of keeping his kennel clean, is thriving with all of the walks we are making sure that he gets and learning new things every single day. He has a nice level of play and a definite off switch. He is a puppy who would likely excel in dog sports and the like - agility and flyball definitely come to mind for this one! He has an independent side that allows him to think outside of the box, and he needs an owner who appreciates such intelligence in a dog. Bonus is that you will have a brilliant boy who doesn`t even take up much space! Kaiden would probably do best with a female canine companion, but we are willing to see how he does with other boys if needed. Cats are an unknown. If we had to guess we think there may be chasing involved, but it is possible that it could be worked with in the proper scenario. Kaiden is a little fireball who is going to make someone get off their butt and walking the Metro Parks in no time flat - he`s perfect for that job! If you are interested in Kaiden, he will be available soon. In the meantime, we are taking applications under review.

He was underweight, covered in fleas and ticks, and very weak. Once we got him to our vet we found that he was anemic, the fleas had sucked all of his blood. He is also heartworm positive, and he’s started the beginning of heartworm treatment. He’s feeling so much better and is on the path to good health! Orville is feeling better now, and his personality has started to show. He shows signs of being abused. He is not going to be a good first dog for someone, and he will need someone who’s dog savvy, and will give him space to settle in his environment.
