Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. My name is Danny and did you know they wrote a song about me? I was really amazed when I found that out!! Do you want to sing it with me? "Oh Danny Boy....The pipes, the pipes are calling...... What? It talks about flowers dying and gulp, ...people dying? Yuck, I don't want that song written about me anymore! What? It was written a long time before I was born? Whew!! Glad it isn't about me! He’s just an absolute love bug.   Toby showed up at a  house one day in a rural part of northern Mississippi, Wags looked for an owner, but no one came asking for him. Toby  settled in right away, he loves to follow his Foster Mom around and snuggle up with the other dogs. Sarah from the Hebrew origins means 'Princess'. What a dream come true, being YOUR princess!! I could totally get on board being treated like a princess, you know, like being spoiled rotten with lots of belly rubs and ear and under the chin scratches and whoa if you threw in some treats that'd just be the bomb...a life of a princess!! I am a total sweetheart of around 8 years, that was pulled from a local shelter where I was on 'the list'. I was shutting down being in a cold loud kennel but since being in my foster home, I've opened up and am starting to blossom. I do wonderfully with the other pups here, even occasionally trying to play. I'm also enjoying playing with stuffie toys. I even like that resident weird smelling thing y'all call a cat, I mostly just let her be (cuz ya know, she smells weird!). I also do great with the little kiddos, being oh so gentle with them. Most of the time I'm quite content to take a snooze while you're doing your thing. I am house broken and getting good at using the doggie door to come inside and am just starting to realize I can use it to go out too! I'm really getting to love this doggie door thing! I like going for our walks around the property but I'm more of a meanderer then a cruiser. I'm at that stage in my life where I like to stop and smell the flowers instead of bulldozing right over them! Coming in at around 43lbs I'm not too small that I get under your feet but I'm not too big that I take up the whole... everything. I would make a great companion type pup for someone retired or that works from home. I would even make a great first time dog parent pup. I will be good in the kennel but I definitely don't care to use one and I'm very good about not getting into things I shouldn't. Are you looking for that calm mellow gal that will be happy just to be in the same room? Are you looking for that someone to share in your daily life going on's from the mundane to the exciting? He loves to play- squeaky toys, balls, chew toys, rope. He is very sweet and has potential to be more behaved if trained (sometimes he jumps and barks) He is house trained and will stand by the door & eventually start crying to go outside. He knows basic commands (sit, paw, etc.). He is a little bossy and will force you to pet him by pawing at your arm, whining, and nudging with his head.
