Story
So, Gambit is my name, and like my Marvel/ X-Man character- I have a way to create my own destiny- all is within my own power!!! I have had kind of a sad past but my future's so bright! I was saved from a pretty scary place- living alone in a field, next to the gas station where nice people fed me and tried to save me.... Luckily, one of those nice people was persistent AND resourceful and she played her "pawn" to get me into a trap and got me out of that horrible place! I have been living with her and her doggy (and human) family since, but I am really ready for my own family! Look at my video, I am sure cute (only 28#) and super adoptable! There are a few things you need to know about me, I am a happy go lucky boy- as long as you don't get into my face or try to give me kisses. I am protective of my face so an adult only or very knowledgeable older kids in my home is best. I am also kind of a goofball and I love other dogs. I take time to get to know you and get comfortable in my home, so please do not apply to adopt me unless you understand that I will not be your bestest friend immediately- I am most definitely worth the wait :) I have all kinds of love and loyalty to give you, so I hope to meet you soon!!! I am house and crate trained too- see? young dogs CAN learn new tricks :) Local adoption fee is $200 ( in Texas only)

Story
Breed mix? BEAGLE MIX Age? 1 year 6 months Weight? 35 lbs Sex? MALE Good with cats? YES Good with dogs? YES Good with kids? NO SMALL KIDS - he gets very scared of toddlers but is fine with older kids (preteens and older). Potty trained? YES Crate trained? YES Temperament? Calm/happy Ghost is a strong pup, he is a superhero to me, like Superman! Or more like Superdog! He has overcome so many obstacles and might be cautious at first but warms up to be such a love bug. As a puppy, unfortunately, he was terrorized by a group of young kids that spray painted him blue, threw rocks at him, broke his tail, tried to break his neck and threw him around daily. He was saved by a family that found him injured, and he has healed from the physical wounds but has a thickened neck and suffers from Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) as a result of that trauma. He went through treatment with the rescue and he is now stable, he needs special attention as his jaw might tighten and limit his ability to open his mouth to pick up a toy or chew. He does not have any issues eating but can't chew large treats. He is learning sit and is working on "off" only because he gets so excited to see people that he jumps up to say 'Hi' :) which is REALLY AMAZING because of what happened to him as a baby... He has forgiven and forgotten and now he is ready for a real loving family to give him the life he totally DESERVES. He smiles when you ask him to show his teeth! He has such a unique personality and he has so many names that describe him. So far he has been called Taco Bell, Turkey Taco, Bongo (drums), Twinkie, and Chicken. He loves to roll around on his back and lay down flat in his stomach. His playmates in his foster home are two 80 lbs pups and he holds his own, will back them up in the yard against the squirrels one minute and falls asleep the next minute. His theme song is definitely Puppy Dog Bouncin' In The Box by RxckStxr so if you are looking for a Superdog or a TOTAL ROCK STAR, Ghost is your BOY!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Bark, bark, bark! Look over here! Hi, glad that I got your attention! I'm Layla! I am a spunky and energetic Beagle baby! I am great with children and other dogs, but be careful I do have a habit of chasing cat's tails. I would do great with a family that likes to play, especially if you have another dog my age! Like a Beagle I lead with my nose and let my ears flop all about! I am a very intellectual dog and need lots of stimulation to keep me from going loco! I am fully potty and crate trained, and I am the epitome of good manners. Adopt me! Some basic information about Layla; she is 10-months old, female, Beagle mix, and is small-sized (1-19lbs). Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application   REBA IS LOCATED IN MT. VERNON, OH.Reba, aka Tinsel, is an adorable, small, mixed breed, tri-colored, high energy, loving, smart, and very personable, work in progress looking for a place to call home.  She is a bundle of energy who loves to play but also loves to cuddle and snooze on her people during nap time.At a young 7 months old she already knows 'sit' and 'wait' while getting food. The verbal command to release her to eat is ‘okay’. She's currently working on 'down', and 'heal'’ when on walks.  This girl is eager to find her forever home to continue to learn and show them how smart she is!Likes: She likes Kong toys filled with treats, chew toys, playing with tug toys and she loves using puzzle bowls for meal time.Dislikes: Unknown loud noises and unfamiliar dogs that she has notbeen able to meet. Her reaction is to run back inside and will not want to go back outside for a few minutes or until the noise/dog is gone.Personality: Outgoing and friendly!Temperament: Reba can be laid back and will relax when an individual is sitting and relaxing, but also is wanting to play a lot. She loves to be right with the family, but still needs some work for her to understand that not everything around her or in an individuals hand is a toy.Energy level: HighFavorite activities: Running, playing ball, playing with other dogs that she knows, laying beside/in lap of individual when relaxing.Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Loves to play with other dogs, curious about cats (has not had too many interactions), would be good with kids based of of personality. Not good with: Rugs, blanket, towels – Will chew and tear apart if not occupied with toys. She will dig and eat mulch from flower beds and flower pots if not closely watched. (She is a puppy!)Housetrained: This is a work in progress. She is still working on giving a signal on when she needs to go out. If she gives us the signal and we do not catch it right away she will have an accident in the house but they are becoming less and less. This will especially happen soon after playing or eating her meals. Normally she will vocalize that she needs to go outside by whining and pacing by door. Crate trained: Yes, Reba does great overnight when crated and when left at home during the day/when individual leaves. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? A fenced in yard would be best to allow her to run and play freely. She may not work well with an invisible fence due to the nature of how she reacts when things scare her.Walks well on a leash? Yes, she loves to walk and is learning how to heal beside the individual who is walking. She's using a harness but is working on learning to use a training collar. Understands the word 'heal' but will get excited and wants to wander/pull ahead of the person walking her.Challenges: Reba panics when disciplined, but is getting better with understanding what is going on when getting disciplined and why. She is learning and doing well with the verbal command ‘no’ and that it means the behavior that was happening was not appreciated.Any Medical issues? No. Tinsel/Reba was surrendered to her veterinarian, and transferred to MTM foster care in December 2022 because she had severe skin and ear inflamation. After weeks of following recommended treatments including weekly medicated baths, her skin and ears are healthy and clear! What would be the best kind of home? Tinsel/Reba would love to find a family that is active and enjoys being outside, walking, hiking, and playing in the yard daily or almost daily. Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy:Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include, but are not limited to: pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Ivy is a super-sweet 11-year-old girl who weighs 44 pounds.  She’s pretty mellow but does have a spark of playfulness in her.  Ivy adores stuffed toys, and she carries a stuffy around with her almost everywhere she goes. One of her favorite pastimes is climbing right into the toy bin and searching for the perfect toy to play with. She also enjoys leisurely walks and playing fetch. She loves snuggling on the couch with her people and having her back scratched - her sweet smile comes easily with a back scratch or back rub! Ivy seems to be drawn to men and eagerly waits for her foster dad to come home from work every day so she can spend some quality time with him. When it’s bedtime, Ivy is content to curl up in her dog bed, but she prefers to sleep at the foot of her foster parents’ bed. Luckily, she isn’t a bed hog and sleeps soundly through the night. She does have to be coaxed out of bed at 5:30 am to go outside, so you won’t be able to rely on her to wake you up for work! Ivy is looking for a home with no other pets as she doesn’t like to share the good things in life (food, toys, treats). She would do well in a family with older children who will respect her space and understand that she doesn’t like to share. Ivy is a well-behaved girl when she has the run of the house when her foster family isn’t home. She tolerates being in a crate when she’s eating, but she isn’t a fan of being crated for any length of time and will bark to show her displeasure. She’s still working on housetraining, but she’s almost there. If you are looking for a laid-back, affectionate beagle girl, Ivy is the one! NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Dale is a handsome brown and black beagle mix.  He was found as a stray and is believed to be about 2 years old.  He is a real gentleman who wants to be right beside his foster mom.  He is medium energy but will play with his energetic beagle sister, Dale likes his naps too. Dale had Lyme disease when he came to the rescue and is finishing his meds.  He does not like to be left alone so he needs another dog to keep him company. Dale is curious about the little critters that come by his fenced yard.  He can try to climb the fence to get to them.  He has climbed over gated rooms when his foster mom leaves.  He does cry a little but eventually settles down with the other beagles. Dale is a handsome young beagle that has a lot of love and companionship to offer.  Let us know if you would like to talk to Midwest BREW about Dale.   NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello! My name is Timber and I am a 2-year-old boy Beagle weighing in at 27lbs. I have been in my foster home for about a month now with my brother, Lumber, and two Beagle foster sisters. I was a tiny bit shy at first but I love meeting new people now and will not hesitate to get some attention from anyone and everyone. I love my food and treats! I have learned to go to my “eating area” for my food and I take treats very gently. It took a little while for me to learn to sleep the whole night through in my crate but I really like my crate now and will go in it for naps on my own. I especially like the “good night treats”. When our foster mom has to run errands or work, she will put me in the crate with a treat. I like the TV on or the music playing softly when I am in my crate. I love the outdoors and toys! I empty the toy boxes daily and try to take all the toys outside to play with. I play well with my foster sisters and my brother but I don’t play well with the cat. I am still learning to respect things that are not mine like my foster parents’ shoes, gloves, charging cables, etc. I do very well with doing my business outside and I learned to ring bells on the door and go out through the doggie door in the mud room. I tested positive for Giardia and just finished my medicine. I will need another fecal test in 30 days. Otherwise, I am a smart, very active boy. I am still learning to walk on a leash nicely and my foster Mom thinks I would enjoy and do well going to classes for training because I like to be busy. She thinks I would do best with someone that is home a lot with me. Another dog would be a big plus too! I hope I find my forever home soon!
