IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ORVILLE, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Orville was rescued by a good Samaritan in Arkansas, when he was founded at an abandoned home. He was underweight, covered in fleas and ticks, and very weak. Once we got him to our vet we found that he was anemic, the fleas had sucked all of his blood. He is also heartworm positive, and he’s started the beginning of heartworm treatment. He’s feeling so much better and is on the path to good health! Orville is feeling better now, and his personality has started to show. He shows signs of being abused. He is not going to be a good first dog for someone, and he will need someone who’s dog savvy, and will give him space to settle in his environment.

Story
Milo (and his brother, Ace) are both looking for their forever home due to the passing of their former owner. They are currently residing at the Long Run Pet Hospital in Wheeling, WV, where they were surrendered.  Milo is 2 years old and a beagle/bulldog mix -- known as a Beabull. This breed mix is active, playful and make great companions and family dogs for an active person or family. Both Milo and Ace exhibit the quintessential beagle/mix with the happy personality and attentive tail to show enthusiasm. Milo is very energetic, curious and does well on a leash. He loves attention and returns it with a big smile.  Milo is a sturdy boy that would make a great companion for someone who not only commits to providing lots of playtime but also loves to snuggle and go for long walks for "all the sniffs." He would benefit from basic obedience classes to teach him good manners. He should do well with another dog of his size and playstyle but is far too energetic for cats and toddlers. Older, dog-savvy children may very well enjoy this beautiful boys as a snuggle buddy. Milo's soft, floppy ears and doggy smile are guaranteed to bring joy and laughter into your life. Milo is a courtesy post for the Long Run Pet Hospital. For more information or to arrange a meet, please call Long Run at 304-232-2605. May 12, 2025, 12:57 pm

Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Story
Esther is a 25 lb, ~2-year-old independent, easygoing dog who keeps herself entertained and doesn’t need constant attention to thrive. Great with dogs of all sizes, has been around cats, and loves water. She’s a fun, low-maintenance companion for someone who appreciates a more self-sufficient dog. Esther is affectionate on her terms and happiest in a home that enjoys companionship without needing a constant shadow. Another video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yELsX2DYnM0 Good fit: someone who wants an easygoing, independent dog who can entertain herself but still enjoys connection. Story
TREE BUD (Male) DOB: 1/31/26 Attributes Dog friendly Playful Snuggly Working on housetraining Crate trained Not best for apartments High energy Looking for a new best friend, then Tree Bud is the pup for you. Bud is the most adventurous of the trio with a warm heart and a strong personality. He is very smart having learned "sit", "off" and "no". He is a cuddle bug and loves being with people and other dogs. Bud loves to play, and be outside but he also likes being close to his people. He definitely has the beagle trait for food and is very food driven, but this makes his training easier as he will do anything for a treat. Bud is 90% house-broken, he knows to go outside but sometimes his excitement will lead to an accident, very impressive for a puppy. A funny thing about him is when he is hyper you can pick him up and he melts into calmness. Bud is 100% crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). ---------------------------- Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.

Story
SHEILA 2 – 3 years Attributes Adult-Only Home Preferred Will potty on leash Crate Trained Does not Like Car Rides Not good with Cats Dog Friendly Working on House Training Medium Energy Playful Not best for Apartments Hi Everyone, My name is Sheila. I am a stunning 15-inch blue tick beagle, and under three years old (DOB 07-26-23). I had a family that included other dogs. Unfortunately, we needed new homes because of our owners’ ages and health issues. I am a good girl – friendly with other dogs, docile, loving and well socialized. I was an outdoor dog, so I am working on potty training and adjusting to the “newness” of being inside a home. I really enjoy being in a home, and I have not destroyed anything other than some dents in the dog toys! My foster parents said my energy level is medium, but it can be medium-high as times (more on that in a bit). My previous owners trained me for trail runs, but I have officially started my retirement from those activities. Because of my trail run experience, I have a very strong hunt drive, this is where my energy level moves to medium-high. Although I am approximately 36 lbs., do not let that fool you into thinking I need a diet - I am slim, it is all muscle! My foster parents are using “clicker” training to help me break my focus on scents when I am outside. It is in-progress training, but I am improving. I will not do well in a home with cats or smaller animals such as guinea pigs. Note from the foster home: Sheila is an extremely sweet, loving and funny foster dog. She is VERY smart. She loves to “hug” us with her front legs. Her transition into a home is going much quicker than expected. She is good with our resident beagle, but her playing patterns can be a little too much for our resident - Emma is significantly smaller than Sheila. Sheila has been good at interacting with older children in the neighborhood. We do not have a fenced yard, but she potties on a leash. Any leashed activities need to be handled by adults only. She is fully crate trained. Color about fence experience was provided by previous owners – she could climb the fenced-in recreational area with or without the assistance of the surrounding trees. Sheila is still adjusting to being in a car – it upsets her stomach, but anti-nausea medication helps. She will do well in a patient home while she continues to transition into trail run retirement. We recommend an adult only home (she has an entire repertoire of loud noises that would not be conducive for an apartment or townhouse). NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
