WAYLON 1 year Attributes: Dog friendly Shy Crate trained Low energy House trained Requires a fence Meet Waylon Waylon is a 1½-year-old, 22-pound beagle boy with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. He was found loose in Indiana and spent several months in a shelter. He is fearful and shy when meeting new people. He will bond very strongly to a female and would thrive with someone who wants a loyal little shadow. Waylon is crate trained and also potty trained using a dog door. He gets along well with our 3 beagles and is a true couch potato at heart. He enjoys quietly playing with his toys and chewing on his Nyla bones before curling up beside "his person." Waylon would do best in a quiet, female-only household with a secure 6-foot wooded fenced yard. Another calm dog could help him continue building confidence. He needs someone patient and gentle who wants to continue his training and socialization building. If you have a peaceful home, a kind heart, and room on your couch, Waylon may be your perfect match. 💙 NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

He is approximately 2 1/2 years old, 27 lbs., and appears to be a smaller sized beagle. He is very athletic and loves to run and play. He has a big personality and is very smart. Sonny would do best in a beagle experienced home as he is your typical beagle (adorable with a side of mischievous!). He sits nicely for treats, potties on leash, and sleeps quietly in a crate at night. He will also stay in a crate during the day as long as he has something to keep his mind occupied but really prefers being with his people on the couch. He is very curious and loves to explore. During quiet times, he loves to entertain himself with chew toys. A fenced in yard is a plus as he was a stray and was out exploring the world without boundaries. Sonny will do best in a home where he can be the only pet and where his humans are mostly home. He could also benefit from training classes to build confidence and develop the skills he needs to become a well-adjusted and successful companion in his new home. He is searching for a special home that will love him and introduce him to a wonderful new life. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves being close to her people, Goldie might just be your perfect match. This sweet girl is incredibly people-friendly and thrives on attention. She’s happiest when she’s curled up beside you, soaking in chin and belly scratches—or better yet, snuggled up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep. Goldie truly loves her humans and forms strong bonds. Goldie has a medium energy level and knows some basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “leave it.” She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and will even go into her crate on her own to relax. Like many dogs, she may whine or bark a bit when first left alone, but she settles in with time. Goldie does have a playful, mischievous side—she can’t resist the occasional slipper or cushion if left unsupervised! She’s also working on her manners, like keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people. Because of her enthusiasm and strength, Goldie would do best in a home without small children or unsteady adults. She can be a bit rough with other dogs and would benefit from either being the only pet or having a very carefully matched canine companion. Goldie is also a bit of an escape artist—she’s been known to test fences, dig, and even dash out an open door—so she’ll need a vigilant home committed to keeping her safe and secure. The good news? Story
Melly has been a special addition to our family for about 6 years. Due to unforeseen family health circumstances, we’re heartbroken to have to rehome him. Melly is just a huge love bug. He adores cuddling in warm, cozy spots and wants all the affection you can give. He’s an old soul who thrives on close companionship. Melly is wonderful with children, but would likely prefer a calm, peaceful household at this stage of life. He likes to stay within eyesight and will experience separation anxiety when left alone. Preferably someone who works from home and can take him everywhere, as he cannot be left alone due to his separation anxiety. Another dog in the home would likely keep him calm and give companionship for the potential of leaving him. He’s fully house- and crate-trained. Melly has a history of Lyme disease, so his joints occasionally bother him—especially during cold or rainy weather—but he manages well with love and care. Melly is gun shy and CANNOT be used as a hunting dog.

Cricket is an estimated 2 year old, beagle mix -weighing 19 lbs! She came from horrible conditions .... she was surrounded by bones, deceased dogs and no food. She was saved by Wolfe County Shelter in KY and never will experience that again! She does have a cherry eye that will be repaired when spayed. She is potty trained and has been doing wonderfully since being saved ##2635018##

Milo (and his brother, Ace) are both looking for their forever home due to the passing of their former owner. They are currently residing at the Long Run Pet Hospital in Wheeling, WV, where they were surrendered.  Milo is 2 years old and a beagle/bulldog mix -- known as a Beabull. This breed mix is active, playful and make great companions and family dogs for an active person or family. Both Milo and Ace exhibit the quintessential beagle/mix with the happy personality and attentive tail to show enthusiasm. Milo is very energetic, curious and does well on a leash. He loves attention and returns it with a big smile.  Milo is a sturdy boy that would make a great companion for someone who not only commits to providing lots of playtime but also loves to snuggle and go for long walks for "all the sniffs." He would benefit from basic obedience classes to teach him good manners. He should do well with another dog of his size and playstyle but is far too energetic for cats and toddlers. Older, dog-savvy children may very well enjoy this beautiful boys as a snuggle buddy. Milo's soft, floppy ears and doggy smile are guaranteed to bring joy and laughter into your life.
