Lincoln is a handsome young Border Collie Mix, with an estimated date of birth of December 23 2022. He weighs about 45 lbs. He absolutely loves people and is very affectionate. However he is not fond of other dogs. Lincoln enjoys spending time in his foster family’s yard and would love a forever home with a large, secure fenced (above ground) yard. He loves spending time with human friends and needs a family or, a single pet parent, who will spend plenty of time with him. Because he’s not good with other dogs, dog parks are not on his list of favorite places! However, he is an active boy and would love to go for hikes and runs with his people….when he’s not playing in his own yard! Border Collie experience is a big plus for this smart boy. Due to his energy/playfulness, he is not an apartment or condo dweller. Rather, he’d love his own spaces where he could run and play, and an active family, or pet parent!! Lincoln is up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. Now, after a successful recovery, Bada is living it up in Illinois as a happy, healthy dog who’s ready to leap, run, and enjoy life to the fullest! These sisters arrived as transfers from Chicago Animal Care and Control, and they’ve been stealing hearts since the moment they arrived. Tamara and Tia are the total Border Collie package — clever, energetic, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. They love to play, explore, and show off their smarts, but they also have a soft, snuggly side that makes them wonderful companions. Whether they’re romping in the yard or curling up side by side for a nap, they’re happiest when surrounded by people who love them. While Tamara and Tia adore each other, they’re also confident enough to thrive in separate homes — so they can be adopted together or individually. We’re happy to dog- or cat-test them upon request to help find the best possible match. Double the joy or single the sparkle — either way, Tamara and Tia are ready to make your life brighter! Dog Day Out Review: "Tamara was the absolute sweetest girl on our doggy day out! She greeted us with instant hugs and happy jumps and you could tell right away she was full of love. We brought her to the park for a snowy walk, and she had a BLAST. She frolicked, zoomed around, and happily sniffed all the new winter smells while getting her energy out. Next stop: treats! We grabbed a burger from Wendy’s and a pup cup from Starbucks. Safe to say she’s a treat lover… especially when it came to the burger 😊 We wrapped up our adventure with a stroll through PetSmart, where she picked out her favorite piggy stuffy and even met the in-house trainer. That’s when we discovered she already knows how to “sit”…. especially when snacks are involved! After all that fun, she enjoyed a bubble bath (towel dry > blow dryer… who can blame her?) and quickly fell asleep in the car on the way back. By the end of the trip, she was confidently hopping out of the car all on her own and ready for a cozy night’s sleep. Overall, Tamara was an absolute angel. She’s friendly, happy, and so easy to love. With just 20–30 minutes of walking and play, she was perfectly content to relax and enjoy the ride. Whoever gets to call her their own is going to be very, very lucky 🐾💖"

Story

Mando was rescued from Wright Way in Chicago, IL a little over 2.5 years ago. He was listed as an Australian Cattle Dog, but likely a mix. Mando is our second rescue. We love Mando, but as he’s grown, he’s becoming extremely territorial, anxious, and aggressive with our older dog. We also have a small daughter, and we can’t risk an injury jf she gets caught in between them. We enlisted professional training services, installed an invisible fence to increase exercise, but the issue persists. After careful contemplation, we’ve decided to place Mando up for adoption so that he can be more comfortable in a different environment, preferably one without another dog or cat and low levels of loud noises (sirens/motor cycles). We believe an environment that promotes activity and low levels of noise will suit him best, but he’s lived in downtown Chicago and the suburbs already. Overall, Mando is loving, smart, cuddly, active, and loyal. We hope we can find him a perfect home soon.
