This black and white beauty is just a puppy and looking for her forever home! At just 32 pounds, Naomi is a sweet girl who’s a little timid at first — but once she trusts you, she’s pure love and affection. Her favorite things? Snuggles, pets, and walks! Naomi is housebroken, doesn’t mind being left alone for a few hours, and would do best in a calm home where she can feel safe and secure. Loud noises can be scary for her, but with patience and love, she’ll continue to grow into the confident pup we know she can be. Story
Meet Lincoln....... Lincoln is an adorable young boy, thought to be a Border Collie Mix. Like Border Collies, he’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At age 9 months, he weighs 38 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of his adult weight, but our best guess is about 40ish lbs. This handsome boy joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. He is thought to have been born around December 23, 2022. He was a scared little puppy when entering our rescue program but has come out of his shell and has evolved into a playful, sociable, and somewhat mischievous boy. Lincoln is great with dogs outside of his foster home, but can be protective of his home and human, indoors. Most likely Lincoln would prefer being an only dog, receiving all the attention he deserves. However he could to ok with a calm easy-going female. He would probably be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Lincoln is one able to assimilate the energy of a young boy into its lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Lincoln to be his best self! A secure, above-ground fenced yard is important. Lincoln would not thrive as an apartment dweller. Lincoln is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. . For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to this area.

Story
Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
Moose was born on August 9, 2024. His daddy is a chocolate Lab and his mom is a tri color Border Collie. He is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle. I have been trying to give him a variety of experiences. He has been to the library and Tractor Supply. We have walked around at the local gas station to get him used to cars. He has visted with the dogs of some of my friends. He walks well on a harness. I took Moose to Crochet Club and he laid calmy in his crate while I crocheted for two hours. He loves people. He has met children and was unphased by their squeals. He hasn't had an opportunity to meet any cats yet but I will try and make this happen. He sleeps in a crate at night and during the day when I can't watch him, he is contented in his puppy pen. He has learned to touch his nose to the palm of my hand when I say "touch". He knows to sit before I open the crate or pen gate. And at the back door, he sits behind my resident dog and waits to be released outside. Story
1/28/25 Ohhhh Easton.....he is one cool dude! A fun and goofy character is how we best describe him. He is young and wants to learn and once he learns it, he gets excited about what a good boy he is! He is very motivated by food which helps! He has met kids ages 8 and up and does well. He is very gentle when taking treats. Easton has adapted well to inside life and I think he rather enjoys it! We are usually greeted with "happy feet", tail wags and jumping up on us for a hug. While I do not usually encourage the jumping, we let him get away with it because we are excited that he has opened up to be comfortable with people instead of hiding. He likes going for long walks, running in the yard and a good nap. He is curious about everything. Sudden movements and loud noises still spook him but he recovers quickly and gets back to what he was doing. He is hard to capture photos of because when you get to his level - he comes bounding over for kisses and petting. Easton is ready to meet his forever home....are you it? He is looking for a gentle confident dog to play with and show him the way or can be in a home by himself with someone who will take it slow with him to build his confidence and do other activities. He is currently being fostered with Falcon....check out her story too! Easton is one of the Lucky 13 brought in from a hoarding situation. He is a goofy boy and watching his progress daily is amazing. Don't get me wrong - he is super shy and nervous but with lots of patience, he will come out of his shell. Easton gets along with other dogs but will need a confident dog friend to help him. We do not have cats so do not know how he would get along with them. Easton is learning how to live inside a home. So far he is doing well. He is a little unsure on hardwood floors and going around corners but is learning. Easton has mastered the stairs up and down. He also has learned how to wear a collar and walk on leash. He is pulling less and less each day and is looking to his person for confidence. We are working on recall and as he progresses so does the distance we give him on the leash. Easton is looking for a person or family who understands the needs of a dog who has had a rough start and can focus on how to give him the space he needs to grow but gently teach him how to be a dog. Not suitable for a condo or apartment setting. Please reach out for more info and watch for updates as he develops in his foster home. Please Visit Easton and all his friends on our web page. https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs Location: Northern Illinois Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org

Story
Chance, a stray found in Louisiana, is a big, lovable boy! A smooth-coated mix, he has one blue eye and one brown eye. Chance enjoys playing with other dogs and lives with two Italian greyhounds at his foster home. He's good in the car and loves people! Chance is a big sweetie. If you’re looking for an all around friend that will make you smile and laugh, Chance is your guy. He LOVES car rides, walks, toys, tug, and fetch. For a BC he is moderate to low energy. After a half hour play he is the sweetest cuddle buddy one could ask for. He plays well with other dogs and would do well with a K-9 companion and in a home where he can get his daily walks in. He knows basic commands and is learning more. He does well with cats and is initially a bit shy around new folks but quick to warm up. His playful nature will make anyone smile and lighten up anyone’s day. He is the perfect balance of fun and cuddles and will be his new families very best friend. Why not take a chance with Chance?! He has sit, down, shake, learned. We will work on leave it next. He’s smart. Took him to the high school tennis courts today I stead of our hike and played ball. He had a blast! Story
Named for his cookies and cream coloring, Chips Ahoy is a resilient canine with a heart as big as his love for squeaky toys! Chips is an adorable and playful companion who loves fetch, playing with toys, and snuggling up while you watch TV. He’s potty trained, enjoys his walks, and adores his bones and hanging out with his people. While Chips is an affectionate and fun dog, he’s been through some tough times and is looking for a patient, loving forever home. Because of his past, he needs help working through his trust issues with new people and dogs. However, he's currently living with two other foster dogs and gets along great with them! With a little time and patience, Chips adjusts well, and with the help of his trainer, he’s making excellent progress. Chips will thrive in a home with older kids or adults who understand his needs and can continue his training journey. No small children, please—they can be too unpredictable for him right now. If you’re ready to give Chips Ahoy the time and space he needs to fully blossom, you’ll find him to be an incredibly easy, loving dog. Story
One look into Roo Roo's eyes and she’ll have your heart! Roo is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves everyone she meets! She’s still learning to play with toys (which has been slowed down by being spayed shortly after she arrived) but she definitely has a playful side! She was going potty outside as long as we kept her on a schedule although she’s had a couple of accidents since being spayed (full disclosure!) She enjoys time in the backyard (a fenced yard is highly recommended), walks, and being wherever her people are. Roo loves cuddling and likes to sneak in an occasional kiss!
