Luke is a 3-year-old Border Collie with a big personality and an even bigger love for snacks. He’s friendly, playful, and proudly goofy, always ready to turn an ordinary moment into a fun one. Luke does well with other dogs, cats and kids and already knows how to sit, especially if a treat is involved and trust us, he will never turn one down. His enthusiasm for snacks definitely shows and just adds to his charm. We’re still getting to know Luke, but so far he’s proving to be a happy, fun-loving guy who’s ready to keep learning and enjoying life with his future family.

He’s very attentive, eager to please, and impressively easy to train—he picked up kennel training in just two days. Luke is affectionate and loves to give hugs, always looking to his people for reassurance and connection. He can be timid around other dogs, likely due to past experiences as a stray; when he was found, he had bite marks and a wound on his leg, all of which have since healed. Despite everything he’s been through, Luke’s gratitude for being rescued shines through in everything he does. He’s eager to learn, eager to love, and would make a wonderful companion. Her owner says Spirit is a lovely dog but is not fitting in with the resident dogs in her current home, and so is available for adoption. While Spirit and the resident dogs in her current home do not get along, this does not mean that Spirit will react negatively to all dogs in general; however, a potential owner should be aware of this and that Spirit may want to be an only dog in her home. She is accepting of adults and older children, but will chase cats if the opportunity arises. Since Spirit is living in Kentucky and is not being kept on heartworm preventive, she will need to be tested for heartworm and a potential owner should make this a priority. Spirit's current owner says that she is a 'Shy loving border collie that needs someone who knows how to work with them. Might not like other dogs.' Here is what they say about Snickers, a young BC/Aussie mix: Do you need a little Snickers in your life?? A yummy nougat encased in creamy chocolate to “make you feel you” as the famous advertisement states. This wonderful boy is a Aussie border collie mix. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Snickers has the kindest eyes that will melt your heart. To be honest he is struggling in the shelter. Although he is safe, knows he has delicious meals served daily and daily walks he would benefit greatly being in a foster or permanent home. Snickers is a fluffy black and white male, with white front legs and black back legs. He is very smart and is craving to be mentally and physically challenged. His breed mix desires to be trained, given commands and lots of mental stimulus. The shelter is a very loud and is over capacity so he is fearful of his current situation. Each day he improves and when he goes outside for his walks he does a cute little trot of a dance to celebrate. Snickers tail is the short stub that wiggles when he is outside smelling everything Mother Nature has to offer. So what does Snickers need?? A loving patient family that will allow him to relax and trust humans. He would enjoy a bubble bath and a nice brushing to make his black and white coat shine.
